  1. Same here, Eurosport/HBO had one of the two usual Dutch athletics commentators (who is also an athlete manager I believe, so someone who knows what he's talking about luckily ).
  2. Just finished watching. Let's see if they manage to improve the format for next time, this was arguably the biggest flop I've seen in terms of athletics events....I don't mean the races themselves, the few events that were there were fine, but man this was mostly a waiting game. Glad HBO has it here, so it was easy to skip through the many, many, many minutes of nothing. This was sort of like an undressed Diamond League evening. If they do this within one hour instead of two and also create a Grand Slam Field, who knows, it may become more interesting.
  3. Yes, that's what I meant If it was a country-wide thing, one would assume all users from the country would have the same issue...odd, I'm very curious what will one day turn out to have been/be the problem.
  4. Excellent, although 14 is still incredibly young.
  5. But that wouldn't explain one Argentinian user being unable to connect, while another had no issue (@konig), would it? Unless the latter might have been using a VPN maybe?
  6. Happy to see you back online! Was it a connection issue all the time, or personal situations (obviously I hope the first one, if not, I hope things are better now)?
  7. Born in Congo-Kinshasa.
  8. Looks like it was a 'joke' by some online magazine? I can't imagine the actual Metallica was involved in it, that would suck so bad. Worst April Fool's joke I've seen.
  9. Nina Riedener might no longer be Liechtenstein's top female athlete 15-year old Annina Uehli beat her at the Swiss championships over the weekend, with a result that would suggest she'd have been able to qualify Liechtenstein for the Olympics as well in Trondheim (as Riedener of course ended up doing). https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&competitorid=293898&raceid=48967 Also interesting, during the mixed relay at the FESA Games in Planica a few weeks ago, she was actually (significantly) faster than both guys in her team. https://winter.racetime.pro/storage/pdfs/results/692/2079/20250309Planica_REL_{Results}.pdf
  10. Oh yes, they do. Snowflakes were beyond hurt with the ceremony, while regular people were either simply like "nice" or "meh" and that was that
  11. I wonder if there is some drawback to this, we'll see I guess, but this sounds like an excellent change I think? I remember Acosta in Paris, that was....not amazing
  12. Hasn't competed internationally in years (since before Beijing) and it looks like she was never really that big of a promise...very curious to see if she'll manage to get herself into the World Cup team, instead of the Meinen's and Cadurisch's of the IBU Cup.
  13. 24-year old Turkish alpine skier Berkin Usta, 2022 Olympian, has died in a hotel fire (along with his dad). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkin_Usta
  14. I love these reactions. They always have the strongest Any man who must say, "I am the King", is no true king vibes
  15. At least there would be theater to watch
  16. I do think Germany has a very good generation coming up, but next season is probably still too early for them to really be consistently fighting for top-10 results (with Grotian as the exception). But in terms of overall strength, yeah there is just no denying France being way, way ahead of the rest in the women's field. Like the Norwegian men, they can realistically field two teams in a relay that can both be on the podium, that's amazing.
  17. Anyone knows how the Poland/Ukraine switch means Brazil dropped a spot in the reallocation ranking and now is 23rd instead of 22nd there? I know, 23 or 22 spots being reallocted doesn't really matter realistically, because both are just not gonna happen, but still. Before the Lahti weekend: After Lahti:
  18. Preuss So happy to see that and so incredibly deserved after all those years Too bad it came with an anticlimax after Jeanmonnot's mistake, but that's racing on the edge..
  19. Ah, right, the reallocation. Let's see where that will end up eventually, for sure it's still going to go down quite a bit with probably 5-10 spots being handed back.
  20. China will end the women's ranking 7 points ahead of Andorra in 20th, meaning there is one fewer spot 'on the market' for other countries (although to be fair, if Andorra had gotten it, the extra reallocated spot would most likely be accepted by China anyway ).
  21. Coletta Rydzek, wow Such big surprises are always cool
  22. The quota simulation still needs some work, no country is listed as having 8 men for example, not even Norway https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/v2/quota/list/owg/cc/2026
  23. How does that list work? For example Brazil is only listed as having 1 female cross-country quota, which is incorrect, while Portugal, Lebanon and Haiti are on the list as well, which is just not going to happen.. Edit: the other one shows two for Brazil. https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/v2/quota/list/owg/cc/2026 And looking at the eligibility, as of right now @brunamoura is the only Brazilian eligible for both the sprint and distance events, huh. I was convinced that the already qualified Eduarda Ribera was as well.
