  1. Tomorrow for it's a true mayhem...alpine skiing at night, at 8.30 a.m. the tech crew comes to my house because I'm changing internet provider if everything goes according to plan, maybe I'm able to go live for women's speedskating and biathlon (once again at the same time )... and then, it's short track and curling time (plus some catch-up with the remaining events, at least slopestyle, luge and ski jumping)... not sure I'm gonna survive (and in case, how I'm gonna do it)...
  2. sometimes it happens... not that it's someone's decision...it's all made by the clockings of the heats...
  3. the same here, except for the fact that I don't have children to play with (only my 80 years young dad) and I ended my school days quite some time ago...
  4. not on this ice, I fear... our best bets at the moment are women's mass start and 1500m with super-Lollipop... I don't think our men have a chance to shine this time...
  5. a lot better, but I knew he was going to blow things up, especially on this kind of ice... by the way, I think I guessed the exact podium finish of this race in the miscellaneous prediction contest...
  6. thanks, but no way it was going to happen... unfortunately, Ghiotto is a choker...he never matches his world cup times and results in the global events...
  7. not sure for the sliding sports... anything else, I fear we'll have to wait for quite a while...knowing the Italians, they won't realease any detailed schedule until the last minute... in any case, since most venues always host world cup events, we can just assume they will use them more or less in the same time slots also for the Olympics, searching for the best time of the day to compete in any of those places...
  8. I wrote that...nowadays basically only the older people might take a break after lunch, but those who have to work (or go to school) have a busy day from early morning to late afternoon (and someone even more)...
  9. no, Wierer's problem is the temperature...she's always had big troubles when the air goes down well below 0 (in Antholz it was way warmer than today)...
  10. the mid-day siesta is more a legend than reality these days... and in any case, it's something typical of the extreme south of Italy...from Rome north, only 80+ years old people in the retirement houses might take one, surely not people going to school/work...
  11. no, there's nothing official... but I'm pretty sure that Antholz won't build any artificial lights system...it's located in a valley with too strong environmental protection laws... ski jumping probably will be under the floodlights, as the hill already have the artificial lights system... I don't have any idea about Livigno and the freestyle events, as I've never seen a world cup event there (even if they have one of the most beautiful snowpark in the Alps)...
  12. jokes aside, I'm so, so happy for Francesca (aka "Lollipop") Lollobrigida... unfortunately, it's highly unlikely she would keep such kind of shape in the next 4 years...probably, she won't even be competing by the time of Milano-Cortina... and I hope she has something left in the tank for both the 1500m (the slow ice could help her) and the mass start...
  13. once again, I have to repeat myself...
  14. I agree with @dcro I'm also pretty sure that the track got slower after the first 4 or 5 runs in both runs, but then managed to be at least fair for every guy (on the contrary of many races we've seen on the "historical" tracks in these years)... the only thing I don't like about it, it's the excessive importance that the start has, I'd have liked a couple more tricky passages in the late turns and to avoid that uphill section... Obviously, I hope that D-Fish can save his ass and get the bronze medal he missed by 2/1000 of a second 4 years ago...
  15. don't worry, it won't happen anymore in 4 years time... in 2026, no snow sport will be under the floodlights (except maybe the alpine skiing slaloms in Bormio and some freestyle events, but I'm not sure about that, too)...
  16. 6.57 in the heat and 6.51 in the final for Jacobs... next stop, Lodz next week...
  17. should I post the owl's photo once again?
  20. well, tomorrow is the first really busy day at the office... start at 7 a.m. with some curling (ITA vs AUS), then it's time for the first medals, cross-country (women's skiathlon) followed by speedskating (women's 3000m) and biathlon (mixed relay) on double screen... noon with short track live and afternoon with moguls, men's luge, a bit of women's ski jumping and more curling (ITA vs GBR) ondemand... hopefully, by dinner time I'm done (and dusted)...
  21. well, I knew Mosaner is (very) good, but Constantini is a true revelation... by the way, I didn't expect them to start 4&0, even if we haven't faced any top team like CAN, GBR or SWE yet... now, the semis don't look so improbable anymore...
  22. curling (Italy's matches) and alpine skiing for me (always on demand, no early wake up until Sunday)...
