  5. once again, 4 podium places in 2 events, Volpi twice in a row on top... only negative point...we can't handle Cheung yet, but Cerioni back where he belongs has already changed our perspective after Tokyo's epic fail...

  8. I only picked Estonia (Sildaru), but Croatia also have a strong candidate (Zubcic)... the main question for CRO is that alpine skiing is always a risky sport and moreover it doesn't involve biased judges like freestyle...
  9. they have at least 10 chances, imho... women's skeleton, snowboardcross, HP/SS/BA in both freestyle and snowboard, moguls, women's aerials... I doubt they will miss out in all of them...
  10. I think only biased judges can stop Nico Porteous from winning 1 (if not 2) medals... and you also have some more chances in the other freestyle (snowboard) HP/SS/BA events (and maybe even Alice Robinson in Alpine Skking -GS- could upset a few people)... imho, Liechtenstein is the only Nation of the list not going anywhere this time... Belgium, Ukraine and Spain are really at risk because they have just 1 or 2 true chances... all the remaining Nations will surely get at least a medal...
  11. I think we don't even have the girls to fulfill our quota places...for sure, there's no chance we send 2 of them in any freestyle discipline...
  12. I don't know and I don't care...but I picked the "1 man, 2 women" option... among the men, the 2 main candidates, Kilde and Odermatt, would exclude each other from having both a double gold...so, only one of them would eventually be able to reach that target (if any can do it)... It might also happen that Pinturault wins both GS and AC, but frankly I hope it doesn't happen...I'm not a big fan of Alexis... among the women, imho one between Shiffrin and Vlhova would definitely come home with at least 2 gold medals...once again, the success of one of the two, excludes the other from reaching the same target... then, I hope Goggia can finally make the double in the speed events, even if I've been told that the Chinese course is definitely not going to advantage our superstar (rather, someone like Brignone and/or Gut), especially in super-G...
  13. is it possible to dismantle it and transfer directly to Milan beside the new San Siro Stadium by the 2026 Olympics? because frankly I'm disgusted by the cheap supermarket that will be built in the worst and most dangerous area of the city for the 2026 Games, which our mayor and officials are so brave to name "sports arena"...
  14. Italy should give one women's quota back...we have only 3 girls participating to the world cup circuit at the moment...and I doubt we're going to call someone without any experience in the main competition of this discipline...
  15. among the women, imho Japan have some kind of an edge over the NED right now, especially should the ice be quick...
  16. I think it's gonna be 6 or 7, so I opted for the 5/6 answer... imho, men's 1000m and women's 3000m, 5000m and Mass Start are a lock gold for them... then I see NED as the huge favourites in the men's Team Pursuit and I wouldn't be surprised if they would end up with the men's 1500m gold medal, too... meanwhile, I think they are not going to get a gold medal in the men's Mass Start and the women's 1500m + Team Pursuit, even if they are surely among the legitimate contenders... finally, I'd name any Dutch gold medal over the men and women's 500m, women's 1000m and men's 5k + 10k a true upset...
  17. Sweden also announced their provisional roster... I saw the list in the first intermission of the CHL semifinal broadcast on SVT Tuesday night... I'll try to get that later... no, it wasn't...my lack of understanding of Swedish language led me to a wrong interpretation of a graphic I saw in that broadcast...
  18. RÖGLE ÄNGELHOLM TO HOST 2021/22 CHL FINAL! The CHL Board has decided to allocate the hosting rights for the 2022 Champions Hockey League Final to Rögle Ängelholm. The Swedes are the first team qualified for the Final and have amassed 29 points so far this season. Therefore, they boast the best accumulated Group Stage and Playoffs record, regardless of the outcome of the other Semi-Finals matchup which will be decided on January 25th. The CHL Final will be played on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022. To take a decision on the allocation of the hosting rights for the CHL Final, the CHL Board takes multiple factors into consideration. Firstly, the accumulated record leading up to the Final but also other factors such as venue capacity, expected attendance, technical facilities of the arena as well as the Covid-19 restrictions of the host country.

  20. RED BULL MUNICH – TAPPARA TAMPERE SEMI-FINAL RESCHEDULED AS SINGLE GAME SHOWDOWN The CHL can announce the rescheduling of the Red Bull Munich – Tappara Tampere Semi-Finals games to a single game showdown on 25 January. After the Covid-19 related cancellation of both the Semi-Finals First and Return Games between Red Bull Munich (GER) and Tappara Tampere (FIN), the CHL Covid-19 committee has consulted and decided on the following resolution: The Semi-Finals matchup between Red Bull Munich and Tappara Tampere will be rescheduled and decided in a single game showdown to be played on 25 January 2022 at the Nokia Arena in Tampere (face-off time to be confirmed). The originally scheduled Semi-Final games between the two teams on 4 and 11 January were cancelled after the German authorities put the entire Munich team into quarantine as a precautionary measure after positive Covid-19 tests of a number of team members were confirmed as cases of the Omicron variant.

  22. yes, he's injured... he broke his left foot in Kazan (late November), he had an operation and now he's recovering from that... he's expected to comeback by the end of January/beginning of February (if everything goes according to the doctor's plan)...
  23. noooooooo... p.s. about Nordic Combined...so, you'd be shocked if I tell you that's the "true" Nordic Skiing discipline and that in the early times of Wintersports that was the only existing Nordic discipline... only quite a few years later, Cross-Country Skiing and Ski Jumping became single disciplines and started to develop as standalone sports (with true specialists)...
