  1. in the same race, Zeynab Dosso equalled the Italian record (7.19), which was first established by Marisa Masullo in 1983 in the same meet and distance, but in the male version, 100m and 4*100m relay Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs easily won in 6.49 (in the heats, he went 6.51, relaxing his run well before the end)...
  2. no, he's a true Swede, born and raised in that Country...he only has 3rd generation heritage from the Netherlands (his grandfather was Dutch)...
  3. I misread mixed springbreak*... in that case, I'm already there...that's my event! *I fear I just drank a bit too much Refosco for dinner...
  4. she's not starting because of her injury... maybe we'll see her in the downhill, but I doubt she's gonna do it...
  5. considering that the Austrian coach Florian Scheiber is setting the course and looking at who's going to race for the "Wunderteam", I fear he's going to send the girls down basically on a full straight... my money for tomorrow is on all those who can really glide...Puchner, Huetter, Weidle, Ledecka (but she could pay a high prize to the no.2 bib)... I don't know if Gut can pull out some of her magic on a course like that... and I fear Brignone and Curtoni won't have many chances, despite being by far the best in business this season (in absence of Queen Sofia)...
  6. yes, Heerenveen's track record is 1.07.09 (by Pavel Kulizhnikov in 2020)
  7. busy morning, tomorrow... I think I'm gonna start at about 6.a.m. with some catch-up of the women's super-G (alpine skiing), then men's cross-country skiing, men's speedskating, women's biathlon, some skeleton (ondemand)... at noon, it's Arianna's time (short track)... finally, the afternoon is just about men's hockey (and men's snowboarding halfpipe final)...
  8. true, but it's a question of being fair to the skiers and to the single disciplines...
  9. actually, it's only on placement's purpose...because normally world cup points are up fro grabs and any place in the final ranking is important... of course the Olympics are a different thing, but they still prefer having athletes ranked after a true run instead of using the seeding runs time...
  10. in snowboardcross, if they crash out, they are still ranked within the heat (using the seeding runs time, if needed), it's only if they get DSQ that the small final skaters have a chance to medal...
  11. luckily you don't have to listen to the Italian commentators (in most sports, unfortunately...it's not only speedskating)...
  12. we really should... I think 4 disciplines (Slalom, GS, super-G and Downhill) and their relative cristal globes are more than enough... p.s. and there must be the same number of races in each discipline in every season...
  13. curiously, he won a gold and a silver medal, but both of them in 1968, while he didn't get anything in both home Games...
  14. frankly, I hope we can find 5 athletes better than today's boiled Pittin in 4 years time... by the way, once the political troubles are solved within our federation and national team, Arianna Fontana in short track will be the second athlete to compete and the first to medal in 2 consecutive home Games (in 2006 she got the bronze medal with our 3000m relay at the age of 15 years and 10 months)...
  15. exciting day, tomorrow... starting "only" at 6.45 a.m. with the women's slalom (alpine skiing) 2nd run, followed by women's snowboardcross... at 9 a.m. some recap of the men's freestyle big air and the last jumps of the jumping section of the nordic combined event... at 9.40 a.m. the highlight of the day...men's hockey starts its journey... midday with short track, followed by luge doubles... in the afternoon, catch-up tv for the cross-country segment of the nordic combined event and the second men's hockey match of the day...
  16. don't worry, we're surely going to find the way to make her lose any interest in going on play high level curling...
  17. no, but it was the Hungarian that unbalanced the Chinese guy...he tried to grab Liu only because he felt he was going down to the ground... of all the mistakes made by the jury, that call on the final straight of the 1000m medal race is the less disputable... the true scandal was the call on Hwang in the semifinal race...
  18. today she was just untouchable... 10 Olympic medals for her (4 consecutive times on the podium of "her" 500m: bronze in 2010, silver in 2014 and now 2 golds in a row)... and it's not over, yet...
  19. that's great...it was a wonderful venue when it hosted the event last year...
  20. well, having worlds in 2022 a few days before the European champs and the Commonwealth Games is pure nonsense... they should have just cancelled the Fukuoka worlds and go with the originally scheduled Doha worlds in Summer 2023 and stop...
  21. another busy (and hopefully successful) day... hope to wake up at 4 a.m. for the men's super-G (alpine skiing)... then back to sleep until 7.30 a.m. when things get serious...snowboard first, biathlon then (with some in-game breaks to cross-country skiing quali)... at 11.30 a.m. it's time for cross-country medal stages, then the Italian curling-mania comes to its climax... later in the afternoon, time for some women's hockey (USA vs CAN), the decisive runs in the women's luge competition and men's 1500m (speedskating) ondemand...
  22. I'm really sorry to read something like that... I hope you get well soon, my friend... stay strong and good luck...
  23. Tomorrow for it's a true mayhem...alpine skiing at night, at 8.30 a.m. the tech crew comes to my house because I'm changing internet provider if everything goes according to plan, maybe I'm able to go live for women's speedskating and biathlon (once again at the same time )... and then, it's short track and curling time (plus some catch-up with the remaining events, at least slopestyle, luge and ski jumping)... not sure I'm gonna survive (and in case, how I'm gonna do it)...
  24. sometimes it happens... not that it's someone's decision...it's all made by the clockings of the heats...
  25. the same here, except for the fact that I don't have children to play with (only my 80 years young dad) and I ended my school days quite some time ago...
