In my opinion it depends on Hannah Ohrtmann can compete or not. She got injured at the ECh, hopefully she is able to play. Though competition nevertheless for Germany with Poland (and their crazy but lovely home crowd), USA and Italy. But  is not in a good shape and Paola Egonu is not selected. I would even select her with a broken foot, but the Italian coach decided not to. as well is not in the best form, they lost the final of the Continental championships against Dominican Republic. 
 
All by all Germany has a chance, but it will be very difficult.

We are in the quarter finals, this result is very surprising considering how we started this European. We meet France again, the last time we won, so we have chances, small but they are. With this performance, we are close to the world championships, a qualification that I am waiting for

once you got stuck in lanes 5 and 6, the championship was over even before the start
 
with a draw in lane 3/4, a miracle was needed to avoid the repechage round (and therefore being always in the less favourable lanes in the following rounds)
 
and day after day, weather conditions are more and more unfair

as you might see, no boat from lanes 5 or 6 has qualified, only a few from lane 4 (and almost all of them only in the first events, before 10.30 a.m.)
 
and 13 out of 16 heats winners completed their race in lane 1
 
moreover, all this sh*t already killed at least 3 (if not 4) boats in the B-Final where only 1 more OQP will be awarded (those not racing in lane 1 or 2 will never have a chance)
 
this is UNACCEPTABLE!

Good results in the preliminary round for our 10 desired Olympic boats. Only the Men Eight expected more. The Dutch federation did everything possible for a gold medal for the Men's Eight, but we were just over 2 seconds behind GB today. Sometimes it seems as if the Men's Eight is the only thing that counts in the Netherlands, because we accidentally won Olympic gold in 1996. I'm very happy with every boat that qualifies for the Olympics and even happier with every medal.

Against France the result was 3 - 1 and we could easily have lost more sets against weak opposition. We were helped enormously by a very favorable draw, compared for instance to Belgium. Partly the result of course of finishing 4th two years ago (while IIRC Belgium failed to qualify for the knock out fase).

by far our best and most stabile match was against the on paper strongest opponent. The semi finale will show if this was the result of our high level, as the TV commentator stated, or, as I suspect, the weakness of Bulgaria who seemed to not cope with the pressure.

My mistake, I completely missed that the NORCECA championships will be held next week.

teams should play with their A teams for Continental Championships, while they are allowed to use B teams for other minor events like Pan-American Cup. of course they can send whoever they want but their results at continental Champs will be counted no matter what. Brazil used its A team for the South American Champs and I assume Canada and co will do the same for the NORCECA Champ.
 
minor teams in other continents (especially Asia and Africa) got hurt badly by this system. all of them lost 50 points because there was no tournament to play for them in 2022. it doesn't change anything for the Olympic qualification but World Champs qualification is also based on the World Ranking and all 2nd tier Asian/African teams are already far away from the 32nd spot to qualify.

No surprise,  and  will play the final on Saturday. The two best teams of Europe for sure. Final will be a though battle, last times Netherlands scored 'only' 1 or 2 goals against Belgium. The Belgian team becomes better and better.

Our coach is apparently not impressed by Belgium. I'm not surprised at all. He always is a little arrogant. 
 
Belgium is so good because they found the right way to play against the Netherlands. It is certainly not attractive. I like the way of playing of Germany and Argentina much more.

Losing a set against Hungary was needless, but Ukraine plays on a very acceptable level. So losing a set against Ukraine is not that bad. Good luck against Germany, they miss their key player, so it should be a clear Polish victory.
