  1. Congrats to Namibia for achieving full representation in two disciplines.
  2. That is certainly possible as well. He seems to be selling a lot of information to Pakistani people anyway. But I don't think blame should be put on the event organizers (unless they failed to inform FEI of the entries, entered Khan on their own discretion, or something of that sort). Just running an event is challenging enough without keeping tabs on the background of each athlete. Especially since FEI took it upon themselves to monitor entries at higher levels and inform all parties concerned (according to that document).
  3. Thanks. What a bizarre article. Khan critically injured? But discharged from the hospital on the same day? Though, judging by some of his statements in this article, he should have been held for further examinations... Even if he finished though, he still would not have qualified as he was in breach of the rules by competing at consecutive weekends. I am sure he was well aware of that, but tried to cheat his way anyway and hope nobody would notice. p.s. Safety pins are still a developing technology. They are widespread at higher level events, but not so much at smaller shows like Naracoorte. They are designed to prevent the rotational falls, which have been the cause of most tragic accidents (like indeed this one). p.p.s. Even still, per rules, Kasheer was not allowed to start cross-country this weekend. Mandatory rest rules are there exactly to prevent desperate qualifying attempts. Someone should be held responsible. It was easily preventable.
  4. Fun fact, starting in Tokyo, canoeing sprint will allow 2 boats for singles and doubles.
  5. Awful. Kasheer was NOT allowed to be competed this weekend (mandatory rest period of 10 days). Curious how Usman Khan started ignoring this mandatory rest rule only after his qualification became mathematically impossible. I'm sure he knew exactly what he was doing. FEI takes equal blame, as they were supposed to monitor all entries "for the welfare of the horse" (their own words). Hopefully a lengthy ban coming for the Pakistani rider (and this Frederique Reffet person). What a mess.

  7. Nice little summary from the Thai Federation (even if a little outdated right now). Cool nicknames.
  8. Looks like Fouaad Mirza withdrew from Montelibretti (May 20-23) and entered Baborowko instead (May 27-30).
  9. Ranking quotas have top priority, then continental, then WCh. A nation once qualified is excluded from lower priority pathways. Different pathways do not add up. Basically, the Worlds may have been held in 2019, but only now we will know who exactly earned those spots...
  10. If he repeats this performance at another competition before June 20. It's possible.
  11. Oh. This is where UCI published the rankings (after Albstadt, Nove Mesto not counted yet). https://www.uci.org/docs/default-source/official-documents/tokyo-2020---olympic-games/mtb-nationalranking-men---as-of-11.05.2021.pdf https://www.uci.org/docs/default-source/official-documents/tokyo-2020---olympic-games/mtb-nationalranking-women---as-of-11.05.2021.pdf
  12. Yes, every nation which competed at Gwangju 2019 is entitled for a single universality spot per gender (if not already qualified).
  13. Russia again wins out of nowhere? EDIT: I see he has a medal from Gwangju... Meh, it's impossible to casually follow swimming.
  14. It's not even funny how terrible our once (2018/19) talented long distance duo became. Total burnouts. Grgić is becoming an expert of not starting races. I wonder if he has been spending time with Di Silvestris.
  15. Oleksandr Prodan clear today at World Cup in Lithuania. https://online.equipe.com/en/class_sections/566192 But since this was only CSI2*-W level, he still needs to repeat it at another competition...
  16. It is. GB in, Slovakia out (in the final analysis).
  17. New title for Mektić/Pavić...
  18. Dascalu brings in a gold medal for GB. Van der Poel's form is Gone with the Corona, imo... It will be silver at best.
