  1. No idea... But given how Hungary entered K2, I guess they intend to keep it instead of K1.
  2. Amazing achievement for Anamaria. Way to go. Our first ever female canoeist. Obviously she will compete in both individual events.
  3. Based on times (from the heats today), these would qualify... Men K1 200 m - K1 1000 m - K2 1000 m - C1 1000 m - C2 1000 m - Women K1 200 m - K1 500 m - K2 500 m - C1 200 m - C2 500 m - no heats held
  4. Ugh... That's now the third time we finished one place away from the qualification at European regattas (RS:X W, 49er FX, Finn). And this one really is a crown achievement. Did Bugarin finish Top 3?! Top 5? At the World Championships (!), mind you, but still not enough for the Olympic quota. And yet, we will have Mexico and Venuezela representing the already represented continents. This event if history, though, so good riddance I guess...
  5. No. Double starts are not allowed unless the NOC qualified in both disciplines. And even so, given the schedule, I don't see anyone starting in both road and MTB...
  6. According to this, the Oceanian Qualification Tournament has been cancelled. The quota will be allocated at the Final Qualification Tournament (to the highest ranked Oceanian athlete).
  7. Correct. Spain will likely qualify a team, so their duet place from the European Cup will get reallocated to either NED or GBR (not sure which, because the results site from the Cup has disappeared lol).
  8. There should be 3 (no medal race).
  9. 6th-9th I'd say. If they beat Sweden, they should be 6th. If not, then 7th, or lower if Australia/Portugal deliver. Still, I am pretty sure they will make it to the team finals (Top 8), considering how consistently reliable Spanish riders are under pressure (compared to some other nations).
  10. New Zealand officially declined their spot. But South Africa accepted it! https://www.fina.org/competitions/tokyo-2020-artistic-swimming-info This means there will be 8 spots available in Barcelona (for the duets).
  11. Liechtenstein is ready, alright. Beating the likes of Switzerland and Germany is massive for them!
  12. Some updates on eventing entry lists... Looks like Arinadtha Chavatanont is headed to Baborowko (May 27-30). She needs MER otherwise Thai team is out (and + (!) are in). Fouaad Mirza is entered for Montelibretti apparently (May 20-23). @Dolby @Fly_like_a_don No sign of CHI/ZIM so far. Carlos Lobos is presumably headed for his home event in Quillota (May 24-27). If he fails, he should have another chance at the same venue (June 18-20). Camilla Kruger has a few options (Houghton Hall, Renswoude, Millstreet), but can only enter one of them.
  13. Not to forget that Mexico quite casually defeated Canada at their home qualification event in Surrey. I have a good feeling about their prospects.
  14. It's just a continuation of the Combined European Championships to be held earlier that month... Would love to attend it (and visit Osijek for the first time), but don't think it's in the cards under the current circumstances...
  15. Govorčinović je bila 4. u B finalu na Svjetskom 2019, što nije loše... Ali vjerojatno će imati veće šanse na sljedećim kvalifikacijama u Rusiji. Puno toga ovisi o korona treninzima...
  16. Men Africa - Asia - America - 2019 WCh - 2019 WCh (U23) - (or if Romania is through on rankings) Women Africa - Asia - America - 2019 WCh - 2019 WCh (U23) -
  17. It will be tight between and . ISR/AUS are out. After Albstadt... Slovakia 2452 (+6) Romania 2398 (+70) If the same happens in Nove Mesto, Romania would take over that last spot. Slovakia is probably destined to add the minimum 6 (or 9) points, in which case Romania (Dascalu) has to finish 22nd (or 21st) to go ahead.
  18. Catching up with some important, but not necessarily binding selection events... Spain - dressage - https://online.equipe.com/en/class_sections/561132 Claudio Castilla Ruiz was always going to be a lock. Looking very good Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and her new ride Elegance, who scored an impressive PB. Juan Antonio Jimenez rose to the occasion and I guess he will battle for the last spot on the team, against Jose Martin Dockx, Juan Garcia and possibly Jordi Domingo... Severo Jurado (5th individually from Rio) was absent from Madrid, but has his chance as well. Australia / New Zealand - eventing - https://www.nominate.com.au/equest/nsw/results/syd3de21/SJ_2104_CCn4-s.html A special selection event was held for AUS/NZL riders based in Oceania. Following this win (and an impressive finishing score), things are looking great for Stuart Tinney. Shane Rose did well too, but it will be tough against the Europe-based Australians (Chris Burton is a lock, but there are also Andrew Hoy and Kevin McNab). As for New Zealand, Clarke Johnstone & Balmoral Sensation (6th from Rio) withdrew before jumping, which could prove costly... Tim and Jonelle Price are surely a lock. For the final spot, it will probably be a battle between Johnstone, and Jesse Campbell, Samantha Lissington and Amanda Pottinger...
  19. Indeed. Probably the only sport which deserves this kind of criticism is weightlifting. Since it is the only sport whose qualification system prohibits all nations from taking part in each event. That's a hard no.
  20. Comparing Summer and Winter Games is so weird. And just utterly nonsensical. They are two wholly different universes in terms of athlete representation.
  21. This is absolutely normal for like 90% of summer sports. There is simply not enough space for everyone within the 10,500 athletes maximum.
  22. IFs (with some general, but flexible enough directions from IOC).
