  1. It's decent but definitely not one of the best. Tokyo, London and Rio were all better than this, and I'd probably say it's slightly on a par with Beijing.
  2. I know it's pretty pointless now since the marathon qualification ended months ago and half the athletes on here have already been mentioned but since I feel it'd be stupid of me not to finish this off after a year and a half of doing it here are the final marathon runners who got the standard since I last updated my list on 9th April: Men Amanal Petros Boaz Kipkemei Abdi Nageeye Amedework Walelegn Birhanu Legese Kenneth Kiprop Kipkemoi Enock Onchari Lameck Too Godadaw Belachew Sisay Lemma Mohamed Esa Evans Chebet John Korir Albert Korir Chala Regasa Bernard Kiprop Koesch Haymanot Alew Philemon Kiplimo Ronald Korir Tsedat Abeje Ayana Oqpe Kibrom Reusom Brimin Kipkorir Getaneh Molla Alexander Munyao Kenenisa Bekele Emile Cairess Mahamed Mahamed Hassan Chahdi Women Domenika Mayer Sharon Jemutai Cherop Ashete Bekere Viola Jelagat Kibiwot Selly Chepyego Kaptich Emily Chebet Kipchumba Pascalia Jepkogei Thalia Valdivia Sisay Meseret Gola Maor Tiyouri Zhanna Mamazhanova Hellen Obiri Sharon Lokedi Edna Ngeringwony Kiplagat Buze Diriba Senberre Teferi Nazret Weldu Faith Chepkoech Rahma Tahiri Kaoutar Farkoussi Irine Chepet Cheptai Winfridah Moseti Gotytom Gebreslase Jackline Cherono Aminet Ahmed Cynthia Jerotich Daiana Ocampo Kidsan Alema Naomi Jebet Peres Chepchirchir Tigst Assefa Joyciline Jepkosgei Megertu Alemu Brigid Kosgei Sheila Chepkirui Tigist Ketema Yalemzerf Yahulehaw Ruth Chepngetich Tsige Haileslase
  3. Campbell hurt her back at trials so might not be fit to compete anyway. As for Lally, she's been long overdue an Olympic berth (12 years to be exact) and this might've been her last true shot to do so.
  4. In most cases our athletes aren't even scrapping in, in fact they're doing more than enough to ensure their in one of the ranking spots. The fact that Buckner and UKA don't even see this and treat the rankings as a B standard is disgraceful and should be called out by some of the pundits working on the athletics at the Olympics (which they won't).
  5. The following athletes will have their rankings rejected by Jack Buckner and UKA: Jake Norris (Men's Hammer) Anna Purchase (Women's Hammer) Kenneth Ikeji (Men's Hammer) Jade Lally (Women's Discus) Hannah Nuttall (Women's 5000m) Phil Norman (Men's 3000m Steeplechase) Zac Seddon (Men's 3000m Steeplechase) Aimme Campbell (Women's Shot Put)
  6. Sorry for the delay again, here is the revised list of OCT qualifiers with relay only swimmers added. All the athletes in brackets, relay only swimmers, will qualify for the games once the swimmer next to them is invited to participate. The reason for this is because they don't count twice on the total athlete count, meaning once the non relay only OCT above them has qualified any relay only OCT below them can also be accepted as they don't take any places away from other non relay only OCT athletes.
  7. Of course there needs to be a standard but it needs to be realistic to the standard of athletes who have a shot at getting in via the rankings. Some of the times set by UKA and Jack Bucknall have been ridiculous and unrealistic, in some cases they were expecting athletes to make times that would put them in the top 10 in the world this year. They think that we're a powerhouse in athletics like we somewhat are in swimming by using a system like this, but we're not. We also don't have the strength in depth like we do in swimming, which leaves events like the Javelin and Triple Jump absolutely crippled with no opportunity to get experience, progress or grow on an international level. And in terms of giving opportunities to athletes who are gonna "bomb out" in the heats or qualifying, not only does it give those athletes experience at a major games which can help them become more successful in the long run but it also makes it look stronger as an athletics nation by having different competitors in a variety of different events and it gives young athletes watching at home British athletes that can inspire to be like and strive to match and better their accomplishments.
  8. I think relays will push us over 60 but in terms of individual athletes we may struggle to reach 50 which is unacceptable. Only UKA to blame, with them setting OQT times as UKA standard times in events where it's turned out that less than a third of qualified athletes will qualify via getting the OQT.
  9. There's surely grounds for a good and positive appeal for both Norman and Nuttall. 0.15 in a steeplechase is equivalent to 0.01 in a 100m and 0.65 in a 5000m is equivalent to 0.05 in a 100m. It's also not like they've not been consistently close to the UKA standard either so if there are a good amount of spots left open (which there should be) I see no reason not to take them to get us up to at least 50 athletes.
  10. Right OK, that seems a fair understanding. I'll try to edit them in with brackets but it could look a little confusing a mess up the order of some of the athletes.
  11. Ok cheers. I think it's best I leave the list as it is as it'll get clogged up with swimmers who'll most likely won't qualify as an OCT. But I'm glad you told me this as not only is it less work for me to do but I now know that only James Guy can compete for us in the 100m Fly instead of Joe Litchfield who I originally thought would do so.
  12. Sorry poorly worded and a stupid and pathetic question. So would an NOC be able to get around a relay only athlete competing in an individual by getting them in via OCT and then also using them in the relay, or would that be too risky incase there aren't enough OCT spaces (basically wanna know if I have to change my list or not to include relay only/potential relay only athletes with OCT times)?
  13. So relay only swimmers can't enter individual events unless they have the OQT?
  14. As I mentioned above, the athletes on the list are only the athletes who need spots to open up after OQT, relay only and universality quotas are decided. The relay-only athletes may have to still technically be "invited" but they'd still have free range to compete as they can't take up 2 athlete quotas (relay-only and OCT). But if you want me to I'm happy to put these athletes in brackets and slot them into where they'd be if they weren't qualified via relays. Also regarding your first point, not every event has available athletes for OCT selection as some have athletes from countries that have at least one NOC with the OQT and/or athletes who already have OQT and/or OCT times from other events.
  15. If I'm not mistaken Oleksiak has been selected for one of the relays meaning she can enter the event without having to worry about getting one of the last OCT spots as she is part of the second part of the athlete total which is relay only athletes (relay athletes which haven't achieved an OQT). The athletes on the above list are once that can only qualify if spots open up once OQT, relay only and universality quotas are confirmed.
  16. To my knowledge BA don't have a cap on how many they're taking, so realistically he shouldn't have to worry about this.
  17. Apologies for the delay, wanted to make sure everything accurate and factually correct on the OCT eligibility side. When adding up the qualified individual and relay athletes I got a final number of 594. Due to all the relay athletes not being announced this number I had to make an educated guess fora couple of the relay nations so this number may be 3 or 4 out either side. I then added all the possible universality quotas which got me to a total of 319 before combining those numbers to get to 913. I then divided 319 by 4 as I expect about 50 - 60 of the countries eligible for 2 universality quotas to only take up 1 or potentially none at all and about 15-20 of the countries eligible for 1 universality quota to reject it, this left me with 79.75 that I rounded up to 80. I then subtracted 80 from the 913 total to get a final estimate of 833, meaning 19 quotas would be available for OCT athletes. With that said here is every athlete that is eligible to qualify via OCT after OQT, relay and universality quotas are dished out in order of their priority: - Heiko Gigler - Men’s 100m Free - 909 points ( - Bar Soloveychik - Men's 400m Free - 907 points) - Jeremy Desplanches - Men’s 200m IM - 901 points ( - Jan Kalusowski - Men's 200m Breastroke - 895 points) ( - Penny Oleksiak - Women's 100m Free - 894 points) - Tomas Koski - Men’s 200m Free - 880 points - Janja Segel - Women’s 200m Free - 880 points ( - Connor Ferguson - Men's 100m Back - 878 points) ( - Luca Armbruster - Men's 100m Fly - 876 points) - Henrietta Fangli - Women's 100m Breastroke - 873 points - Jessica Vall Montero - Women’s 200m Breastroke - 872 points ( - Martine Damborg - Women's 100m Fly - 871 points) - Santiago Grassi - Men’s 100m Fly - 870 points - Agostina Hein - Women’s 800m Free - 863 points - Francisca Soares Martins - Women’s 400m Free - 858 points - Ali Khalafalla - Men’s 50m Free - 856 points - John Shortt - Men's 200m Back - 855 points - Ching Hwee Gan - Women’s 1500m Free - 852 points - Laura Cabanes Garzas - Women’s 200m Fly - 841 points - Aissia Claudia Prisecariu - Women’s 200m Back - 830 points - Zac Reid - Men's 400m Free - 900 points - Berke Saka - Men’s 200m IM - 897 points - En Yi Letitia Sim - Women’s 200m Breastroke - 895 points ( - Cesar Castro - Men's 200m Free - 879 points) ( - Sofia Morini - Women's 200m Free - 878 points) - Denis-Lauren Popescu - Men's 100m Back - 873 points ( - Pauline Peda - Women's 100m Fly - 868 points) ( - Bernhard Rietshammer - Men's 100m Breastroke - 865 points) ( - Max Mc Cusker - Men's 100m Fly - 864 points) - Youssef Ramadan - Men’s 100 Fly - 863 points - Kaloyan Bratanov - Men’s 50m Free - 853 points- - Lotte Hosper - Women's 200m Back - 830 points ( - Kamil Sieradzki - Men's 200m Free - 875 points) ( Konstantinos Englezakis - Men's 200m Free - 871 points) - Emre Sakci - Men’s 50m Free - 852 points Other than the potential of the likes of and rejecting some of these OCT quotas, this should all be factually correct and accurate.
  18. He's got the standard so the invite will be accepted.

  20. It does mean that he can be selected despite not turning up but I think in this context it gives him another chance to ensure his selection at London DL if 2 others get the OQT and finish top 3 in trials. Either way BA/UKA will make up their own rules to ensure Wightman gets in at the expense of others who did things by the book.
  21. Wightman has been given medical exemption, meaning that even if 2 of the above get the OQT Wightman will get another chance to get in ahead of one of them before the games.
  22. Wightman must've been told that he can still get on the team if he achieves a fast enough time at the London DL. That's the only logical reason bar him being too hurt to compete in Paris than can be drawn from this. I'm only thinking this because Chalmers said in an interview with the BBC that if he doesn't get the OQT here then he might be given once more chance at the London DL before they reject his invite.
  23. If reallocations are based off the first scenario then the following athletes lose their quotas: Enej Marinic (Men's +100kg) Krystyna Homan (Women's +78kg) Moira Morillo (Women's +78kg) Magdiel Estrada (Men's -71kg) The second scenario states unchanged. In terms of the potential Universality/Continental returned quotas, the second scenario once again staying the same with the only change on the first scenario being Magdiel Estrada slotting in behind Achraf Moutti.
  24. Not too worried about some of these withdrawals, most just seem like small niggles that the athletes in question don't want to risk becoming worse with London DL still to come as an Olympic preparation event.
  25. Yeah no worries mate. I'm not bothered by you correcting me by the way, when I said that I was just letting out my personal frustration at once again interpreting something wrong as I've been doing that a lot recently.
