  1. As a big fan of darts myself In genuinely think people won't be too bothered by it's inclusion. The whole origins of being a pub sport behind, it has much of a right to be considered for the Olympics as Archery and Shooting do. You don't exactly have to be athletic to do any of those sports.
  2. There's no way you could have cue sports and darts during a winter Olympics, would cost far too much as you'd most likely have to build an entirely new venue(s) with where the winter games usually takes place whereas with the summer edition it'd cost next to nothing to facilitate. In the near future I can only see darts being included in a summer games with how popular it is, but that won't happen until there's an agreement between the amateur and professional sides of the game (to get the sport recognised) and until they solve the problem of trans women in women's darts.
  3. Ah, so Ben Llewellin would only be able to get a reallocated quota if a men's skeet athlete handed back a quota or if no one comes forward for a universality quota?
  4. Is the reallocation process the same as fencing or is it an event by event basis? E.g. a men's 50m rifle quota is returned and is reallocated back to the next best non qualified men's 50m rifle athlete.
  5. One of 2 worst possible scenarios happened today. This means it'll take a big performance from and (likely a win) next week to topple Spinella.
  6. He doesn't, if the other Ukrainian gets it as well as Rampula then Horodynets can't earn one via rankings so in that scenario he'd also be in with a shot at the last rankings quota.
  7. Horodynets effectively needs to get a quota today as if he doesn't and his Ukrainian teammate does then he'll most likely miss out on the Olympics due to the 2 per country rule. As long as Mazzetti doesn't win a quota here then there'll be a tense battle at the last world cup event for the reallocated host quota.
  8. Gowin bottles it as usual by getting a worse score in rapid than he did in precision. However I'm hoping for anyone other than Mazetti as it gives Gowin a realistic fighting chance of earning a quota through the rankings in the last world cup event.
  9. So that means that Rampula is ineligible for a quota due to having 2 athletes qualified in both 10m and 25m?
  10. They haven't officially qualified for the 25m though, they're given the option to enter through qualifying for the 10m. Also the quota is for the NOC not the athlete, so as neither NOC or athletes have qualified for the 25m via the requisite qualifying routes then they are able to gain a quota here.
  11. No, quota is between , and in the final.
  12. I think them being on that list equates to their federations accepting their place.
  13. A few strange omissions from this. First of all no 4x400 women's relay is a bit odd, there are more than enough athletes there to make up one with 1 or 2 reserves. The lack of field athletes once again is startling, I'd have thought Ugen, Clarke-Khan and Walton would've been selected at least on a wildcard basis. But the biggest omission of them all has got to be Jade Lally, hitting the standard 9 times and being ranked 14th in Europe not getting you in is nothing short of a disgrace - and I doubt she'd have rejected it as she enters and attends everything.
  14. It's quite a bad look to have a World Cup event for the Shotgunners right after the quali period ends, they could've at least extended it till after the Lotano event. If I was a Shotgunner who's narrowly missed out on a quota through the rankings I'd certainly feel aggrieved.
  15. Yes, each NOC can only win a maximum of 1 quota per qualifying event. But you'd still get quota through rankings as it stands as both your athletes still in are the next best non qualified from the rankings. Although there is still a world cup event so things may still change.
  16. Possibly as when doing my counthrough of eligible universality quotas based on athletes from the rankings I found that the Men's 50m could go unused if ISSF are following 1 universality spot per country. If so then Llewellin would be top of the list for a reallocation, butf I'd say it's highly unlikely.
  17. Another loss in Musah, lovely stuff!!
  18. Wow, 3 losses in a row now for . Richardson losing to the would be the tip of the iceberg for me, but even if he does win at this point I'd be surprised if we got two quotas out of this qualifier.

  21. Once again we never learn from our mistakes and miss out on a quota that should've been a banker. A guaranteed medal in the mixed skeet is now gone.
  22. The Olympics may not have started yet, but one gold medal for 2024 has already been won. Congratulations to Ben Llewellin for retaining his Tokyo title of biggest bottler from the Olympic qualifying phase.

  24. Fucks sake, this is something we didn't need. We've already missed out on qualifying in other sports we qualified in in Tokyo, we could've done with qualifying in a couple sports we didn't qualify for in Tokyo. Even this now doesn't even seem likely as we now need a minor miracle from the Bello brothers in the last 3 events to qualify in this. So disappointing as I have tickets for 2 men's beach volleyball games in Paris and would've liked to see the Bello brothers compete in front of the Eiffel Tower.
  25. I know, this was more of a jokey post as Sao Tome's only chance of a first Olympic medal in this decade has now almost certainly gone.
