  1. Is this the final list, or can other reallocations happen (specifically in the men's skeet)?
  2. So glad the women got through, them not qualifying would have been yet another disappointment for us in the overall GB qualification cycle. In terms of the men, if they performed like they did at the European's then they've got a really good chance of at least getting an individual quota.
  3. No you are right, forgot about the New Zealand withdrawal and assumed they'd forgot to cross off Malaysia as they'd added them to the qualified teams list.
  4. Glad to see Chalmers get a PB, unfortunately not only did he narrowly miss the final but he'll have to get another PB as GB won't accept his ranking despite it looking like he'll be the best from the rankings and him only being 6 thousandths of a second off the time.
  5. You idiot Reekie. Completely let Mageean barge her way through her which knocked her out of her stride. Blown another gold medal there, at least Bell managed to hang on for silver.
  6. And I was just explaining why he's not yet confirmed. No need to get defensive.
  7. Not quite, there's still a possibility he could have a shocking rapid and one of Gowin or Evgilevski have an excellent rapid, qualify for the final and win the tournament which would knock Spinella out of the spot. However, I expect South Korea to give up one of their quotas which would open up another quota in the rankings which Spinella would be mathematically qualified for.
  8. What's the whole situation with the continental qualifiers from Oceania and Africa? Do they have to be a certain ranking to be able to obtain the quota?
  9. If you exchange a quota between events I don't think the event that the quota is exchanged from gets giving an extra quota in the rankings. I just assumed that you would decline the quota altogether.
  10. A few of our Ukrainian users said a couple months ago that they'd be handing in one of their men's 25 m rapid pistol quotas, I believe it was Kushnirov's, meaning there's a good chance there'll be one more ranking spot up for grabs on Tuesday and Wednseday.
  11. Both Stubley and Glynn lose their last 16 bouts meaning we end on 6 boxers at the games. A disappointing and unacceptable qualifying campaign for all involved, some serious questions need to be asked going into LA as both the selectors and athletes have had a mare.
  12. The debate about darts being a sport is massively flawed as there are multiple components that make it a sport such as skill, accuracy and the physical act of throwing. Also the top players have already said they'd be up for doing it, unlike tennis and golf there isn't a snobbery about only playing tournaments that are "big enough" as professional darts players will pretty much play anything even if it's somes shitty local darts tournament.
  13. As a big fan of darts myself In genuinely think people won't be too bothered by it's inclusion. The whole origins of being a pub sport behind, it has much of a right to be considered for the Olympics as Archery and Shooting do. You don't exactly have to be athletic to do any of those sports.
  14. There's no way you could have cue sports and darts during a winter Olympics, would cost far too much as you'd most likely have to build an entirely new venue(s) with where the winter games usually takes place whereas with the summer edition it'd cost next to nothing to facilitate. In the near future I can only see darts being included in a summer games with how popular it is, but that won't happen until there's an agreement between the amateur and professional sides of the game (to get the sport recognised) and until they solve the problem of trans women in women's darts.
  15. Ah, so Ben Llewellin would only be able to get a reallocated quota if a men's skeet athlete handed back a quota or if no one comes forward for a universality quota?
  16. Is the reallocation process the same as fencing or is it an event by event basis? E.g. a men's 50m rifle quota is returned and is reallocated back to the next best non qualified men's 50m rifle athlete.
  17. One of 2 worst possible scenarios happened today. This means it'll take a big performance from and (likely a win) next week to topple Spinella.
  18. He doesn't, if the other Ukrainian gets it as well as Rampula then Horodynets can't earn one via rankings so in that scenario he'd also be in with a shot at the last rankings quota.
  19. Horodynets effectively needs to get a quota today as if he doesn't and his Ukrainian teammate does then he'll most likely miss out on the Olympics due to the 2 per country rule. As long as Mazzetti doesn't win a quota here then there'll be a tense battle at the last world cup event for the reallocated host quota.
  20. Gowin bottles it as usual by getting a worse score in rapid than he did in precision. However I'm hoping for anyone other than Mazetti as it gives Gowin a realistic fighting chance of earning a quota through the rankings in the last world cup event.
  21. So that means that Rampula is ineligible for a quota due to having 2 athletes qualified in both 10m and 25m?
  22. They haven't officially qualified for the 25m though, they're given the option to enter through qualifying for the 10m. Also the quota is for the NOC not the athlete, so as neither NOC or athletes have qualified for the 25m via the requisite qualifying routes then they are able to gain a quota here.
