Yeah, your poor english also bores me, but i dont say anything, because its off-topic and the same can be said about your comment here. By the way: The winner of mens 200 breast neither has a world record nor an olympic record, please at least try to get your facts right the next time before you write.

Artistic Gymnastics at the Summer Olympic Games 2016
OlympicsFan replied to George_D's topic in Gymnastics - Artistic
Sad for Verniaiev and Larduet, but Verniaiev didnt deserve more than 14.9 points, he had a worse landing than in qualification. Uchimura really has nerves of steel, i think he might be the first double olympic champion from Japan in a very long time, Verniaiev still has a very good chance for a gold on parallel bars. -
Another disgusting result, very sad for Dershwitz, Kiefer and Thibus.
-
Disgusting results in mens 200 breast and womens 100 free. I am happy for Belmonte and Chalmers.
-
I doubt that Chalmer will break the world record in the next 12 months, but lets see. I dont see McEvoy winning the gold, i just hope that it wont an american or Scott, but i fear that Adrian will defend his title. Belmonte should win womens fly. My prediction is gold/silver for Hoshi/Belmonte and bronze for Groves or a chinese girl. Germany being a powerhouse in swimming was a joke, we have been horrible in swimming for many years. We made some good progress recently, but we werent able to show it here. Wierling (mens 50/100 free), Vogel (mens 200/400 free), Brandt (mens 400 free), Wellbrock (mens 1500 free), Heidtmann (mens 400 IM), Hintze (mens 200/400 IM), Köhler (womens 400/800 free) and Wenk (womens 100 fly, 200 IM) should have a good future + we have some good athletes who are in their early 20s (Vom Lehn, Diener, Heintz, Graf) and some good talents who are still too young to tell whether they will become world class or not. We will never win 10 medals in swimming, but i hope that we will be able to win about 6 medals in 2020.
-
Wow ... Dershwitz already lost in the first round! Today is our last chance for a medal and Hartung got an impossible draw with Homer and Yakimenko, there is no way that he can survive long enough to win a medal.
-
Yeah, its very difficult to win against Russia in fencing, almost as difficult as beating them in boxing or figure skating. Really horrible result, a podium without Thibus is senseless, they could as well just end the competition now.
-
Wait ... what? Didnt follow the results so far, but Italy winning 3:0 against France and Canada winning against the US? What is going on with the US team on the mens side? Still really sad that we didnt qualify, only Italy, Russia and Brazil probably wouldve been out of reach.
-
What about mens 4x100 m free relay?
-
Are you german? I could have asked the same question ... oh wait ... only one german athlete made the final, so i guess that Koch will be the lucky one. Its really sad to see two swimming powerhouses in such a bad state.
-
Kiefer and Thibus still in? I hope that they wont have to fight against each other, sadly its impossible that both of them win gold. As long as one of them wins gold and the other one also wins a medal, i will be fine, otherwise it will be another disaster.
-
Come on Laura, just one step away from the final, we desperately need a gold ... please at least win a medal.
-
Like i said, Korea doesnt have many medal contenders, but almost all of them win gold. Löw is looking good in mens double trap, time for another 4th place for Germany.

Get in! Cancellara winning gold would be absolutely amazing! Hopefully ahead of Dennis and Dumoulin. I am really surprised that Cancellara is going for gold, everyone thought that it would be between Froome and Dumoulin. If Cancellara can win here, than Martin in top shape also wouldve had a chance, but i guess he is really done. -
Womens foil competition is a perfect summary of Germany at the summer olympics so far: Our athletes either completey mess up or get injured, both is true for Golubytskyi ... I am already counting the days until this nightmare is finally over. Only 11 days to go ...
-
Amazing result, Park really deserved it, but Grumier wouldve been an even better winner. South Korea isnt good in many sports, but almost all of their gold medal contenders win the gold. Of course it helps that all their gold medal winners wont have to work ever again, its a huge motivation for those athletes.

Haha, the 43 year old woman really wins the gold, what a joke. I am really sorry for the russian girl, she deserved the gold. -
Very disappointing swim by Le Clos and Cseh. With his time at the european championships, Cseh wouldve won gold. You have to give credit to Kenderesi, because he didnt go out too fast. If the race wouldve been 10 m longer, than Kenderesi wouldve won the gold. Russians are the bad guys, but americans are winning all the golds, really funny to see. You really have to feel for Russia, they know that the other top nations arent any cleaner, but they cant prove it. No one wouldve thought that Watanabe or Scott could fight for a medal and now Watanabe might even win the gold.

For me France and USA are the 2 best teams and Sweden/China arent even in top 5, so our path to the semifinal should be clearly easier. I am not saying that Canada doesnt have a chance, considering how many canadian athletes are overperforming here and also how much Canada always seems to overperform in womens football at the olympics, but for me they are still clearly the underdog in a match against USA/France. German coach for example didnt use Däbritz who normally always plays and the substitutions in the second half were also very weird. I think we never wanted to win the match, but of course we aimed for a draw. This doesnt mean that the german team is better than the canadian team at the moment, but there was clearly no reason for Germany to win this match.

I pray that Armstrong wont win, a 43 year old winning gold in a sport that is 100% about endurance would just be ridiculous, but with americans you never know. -
Congrats, but is that really important? For me a medal would be much more important than a win against Germany ...

I really dont get why Canada was so happy about that win ... ? They will have to play France/USA now, Germany on the other hand will play against Sweden/China.

Cant believe it, the second safe gold we lost today and the second time that France profited from it. Many german athletes are mental midgets, no doubt about that.
