  1. Spain has crazy good results in Rio. Was there any event where Spain was favorite (except for womens 200 m fly)? Now they have already 5 gold medals (out of only 8 medals in total). I guess they are in the top 3 of most overperforming countries.
  2. The rules are very weird indeed. It says 3 x top 2 + 2 x 3rd BT, so for some reason its not top 2 in each semifinal + 2 fastest, but top 2 in each semifinal + the two fastest 3rd place finishers.
  3. It would be nice to have more (american) members, but why exactly are american users more important than users from any other country? If you think that Totallympics needs more american users, then why dont you try to spread news about Totallympics among american people?
  4. Yesterday Ludger Beerbaum compete for the last time (at least in the national team) ... Goodbye legend, he won 4 gold medals and one bronze at the olympics.
  5. "That's it, I don't need to watch the next 15 days this is all I wanted." Thats what you said after Pareto won the gold medal ... so when did your account got hacked? Back then or just now? I understand how you feel, but: In my opinion you had almost perfect olympics. Many people didnt expect you to win a single gold and now you already have two and could very well win a third today, in addition to that Del Potro won a silver medal completely out of nowhere.
  6. Which medal table (for London 2012) were you looking at? On Wikipedia it says that the US won 103 medals 4 years ago. Now you have 93 medals already and you will win at least 20 more medals (2 x basketball, 2 x boxing, 0-2 x BMX, 0-1 x diving, 0-1 x equestrian, 0-1 x golf, 0-1 x sailing, 0-1 x taekwondo, 0-2 x triathlon, 0-2 x volleyball, 1 x water polo, 0-4 x wrestling, 0-12 x athletics), so this will easily be your best result ever (1904 and 1984 excluded of course). By the way: You won 110 medals in Beijing, not in London. You also should think about the following thing: Even if you wouldve won less medals than 4 years ago, you still could have overperformed. In my opinion your team is weaker than 4 years ago (just because you won more medals than 4 years ago, it doesnt mean that your team got better), you might want to look at the results of the swimming/athletics world championships from last year if you dont agree. I think you clearly had an advantage this time, because all other big nations had to adapt to a different time zone and NBC was able to dictate the start times for swimming/athletics finals, so most athletes had a "double jetlag".
  7. The Netherlands have a got chance to make the final in womens volleyball! No one expected that, especially considering that they shouldnt have qualified in the first place. Russia and Brazil were much weaker than expected. We have the same situation as in mens handball: The second semifinal (USA vs. Serbia) should have been the final.
  8. Which case are you referring to? By the way: You might want to read what i said after Germany won mens quadruple sculls ... i am not only doubting athletes of other nations ... (i said pretty much the same about Roleder when she won silver at the world championships last year).
  9. I feel sorry for Brazil, many of their athletes dont seem to be able to stand the pressure. I hope that they will win the gold in mens beach volleyball (which shouldnt be a big problem) and mens volleyball (which should be very difficult), but the gold medal in mens football should better go to Germany. Ludwig/Walkenhorst are the first european team to win a medal in womens beach volleyball at the olympics.
  10. Yeah ... just look at the thing between her eys. She is either indian or has the worst taste in the history of human kind.
  11. American fans probably cant believe how dominant their athletes are ... of course it helps when you are the only big nation that hasnt adapt to a different time zone, not to mention the fact that it might help when your biggest TV channel dictates the start times. At least we can be sure that the US will win much less medals in 2020.
  12. Sadly not this time ... but great to see that Castlin wins the first athletics medal for India.
  13. I dont think so ... at least not in the next race. All 5 american girls would have to completely mess up ... then the medals would go to Roleder, Seymour and George. That really would be something!
  14. So by how much will Roleder miss a medal? a) 0.01 s b) She wont finish c) She will completely mess up and not break 12.60 s
  15. Yeah, yours obviously too, otherwise you wouldnt come up with words like "stoled" or "motherhodd". Whatever substance you took, it sounds great! 2.b) Me accusing athletes of doping of course has nothing to do with german athletes losing. I accuse everyone of doping who is suspicious to me, no matter whether a german athlete is in the same event or not, you really could have noticed that ... probably you took too much of that substance to notice it ... ? 2.a) Many german athletes underperformed here (Vogel in womens keirin, Eilers in mens keirin, Schwanitz in womens shot put and so on), but some german athletes also overperformed (Rowing mens quadruple sculls, Reitz in mens rapid fire pistol or Unruh in womens archery). Overally the olympics have been pretty disappointing for Germany, too many negative surprises. There is no doubt that France overperformed in equestrian ... right? So what exactly is your point here? 1.a) Not true. I never expected a gold for Hambüchen or a medal for Unruh (womens archery) and i am over the moon for them, especially for Hambüchen, who really deserved this gold. I am having fun watching the olympics, but this are the worst (summer) olympics i can remember, thanks to all the (doping) scandals, the empty stadiums, the unfair brazilian fans and the athletics/swimming sessions in the middle of the night.
  16. Haha ... Schippers is going down! Best athletics day of my life!
  17. 1) Great to see that you can laugh about yourself. 2) Frank Rijkaard likes that! (Just ask Rudi Völler) 3) Not so great to see that you cant keep your word of not quoting me, its hard to respect you when you cant even keep your own word and its a bit irritating for me to be honest ... do you ignore me or not? I dont get it ... please tell me!
  18. Yes, i will cheer for your team, lets go GB, beat this embarrassing dutch team! Edit: You should have wrote "Großbritannien 5-0 Holland" ... Holland = (german word for) the Netherlands
  19. Amazing 6.95 m for Mihambo, this should be at least silver! The feeling when one of your favorite female athletes loses to a man ... She is really one of the most clutch german athletes. Nothing to say about Walcott coming out of nowhere again, IOC doesnt want fairness and WADA cant do anything about it.
  20. Crazy results ... Ketbi, the korean guy, Tortosa, Tuncat, the iranian guy ... all out in the first round. Its good to see unexpected results, but on the other hand i want the favorites to win here, they worked so hard the last 4 years and should get rewarded here.
  21. Sad day for the sport. Dutch player is rolling on the floor, acting as if shes injured, germans play the ball out and then the dutch girls just keep the ball instead of giving it back. Hopefully they will lose the final in the worst possible way, a gold medal for this team would make a joke out of this sport.
  22. No one expected France to win any gold here and 2 medals at best and now they have 2 golds and 1 silver, France is probably the most overperforming team in the history of the olympics.
  23. Not anymore, the Netherlands will sadly win this easily.
  24. It was his own fault that he wasnt allowed to compete, no reason to feel sorry for him. Spain naturalizing everyone who they can is also business as usual, sadly for you Mirotic, Ibaka, Diego Costa and so on all didnt help you much. Here is a hint for your athletics federation: Why not naturalize Peinado, Tenorio or Rojas? They all could become medal contenders in the future ... Edit: This is not a medal for Spain, your country had absolutely nothing to do with this medal. I would have had no problem with one of your race walkers or Beitia winning a medal, but Ortega won the medal for himself and only thanks to Cuba, they deserved this medal.
  25. Yeah, good work by the organizers and of course it was completely obvious that Kenny overtook the Derny first. I am absolutely not surprised that neither Kenny nor Cavendish got disqualified. I think british riders would have to kill someone on track to get disqualied, it was the same joke in mens team sprint 4 years ago.
