  1. I still dont get why officials should have preferred Douglas. In my opinion it wouldve been best to allow everyone to make the all-around and then the best will qualify anyway. Its the same with the german team. If Schäfer and Alt wouldve been allowed to do the all-around, they probably wouldve made the final instead of Seitz and Scheder. I have to say that i am really sad for Schäfer, she was very close to make 2 individual finals (floor and beam) + she was "robbed" of the individual all-around final.
  2. Sorry, i dont quite get what you want to tell me ... ? Is it about Douglas not making all around final? I am sad for her, but she was just too bad on floor to beat Raisman.
  3. Sometimes you have to wonder whether american girls would get the same scores if they would compete for other countries. I still remeber 2012 vault final and it was a sick joke that USA won a medal back then. For that reason its hard to be fan of sports with judges.
  4. I dont think that USA will win gold on balance beam or uneven bars, we will see. Douglas clearly in 2nd place, like expected, she should win silver, bronze is up for grabs, i will stick with Mustafina.
  5. Dont know why i had them on my list, they are not on the list of nations never winning an olympic medal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All-time_Olympic_Games_medal_table I think the answer for question 5 should be no, but the correct answer for question 20 should definitely turn out to be yes.
  6. Makes sense ... i already wondered how Malaysia was able to never win a medal at the olympics ... Sorry, i think we are talking about two different questions: Question 5: San Marino, Malta, Bosnia, Mali, Fiji, Kosovo, Bermuda Fiji should be safe to win a medal. I am also pretty confident about Mali. Question 20: Burundi, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Philippines Burundi should be safe to win a medal. I wanted to give 10 points, but i wasnt sure whether Diaz would win the medal, although i think that i predicted her on 3rd place.
  7. Yes ... I used 10 points each on 31 questions and 1 point for all other questions. In my opinion there were 31 safer bets, so i didnt use 10 points on this question.
  8. Is Chinese Taipei really "independet" from China? I think they are strong for the same reasons as China and apparently they are also strong in the exact same sports.
  9. Did you bet 10 points on it? Sadly i used only one point on it. I was sure that Kosovo, Malaysia and Fiji would win a medal. I wasnt sure about Diaz, Bermudas in womens triathlon, Bosnia in athletics, Mali in taekwondo, Malta/San Marino in shooting. If i would get the chance, then i would change my prediction immediately and use 10 points instead of just 1.
  10. Very sad for Massialas, he can still win a gold with the team. Italy is going mad, they will finish in top 10 of the medal table at this rate.
  11. Wow, Italy won tons of surprising medals already, i wish we could win at least one of them. Its very interesting that Italy is suddenly so good in judo, i never thought that they could win even single medal.
  12. Like i said before, italy is having amazing first two days, maybe the best of their olympic history, italian people must be crying of joy.
  13. Yeah ... Of course you couldve send me a PM with your favorites later, but its ok, the prediction contest was obviously extremely important for you, good luck!
  14. So ... 1) Why did you say that you have no clue who the favorites will be when i asked you a couple of days ago? 2) Abbott didnt win a medal, so obviously she wasnt so strong after all ... 3) I think it was you who said that Ferrand-Prevot could win a medal in road cycling and mountainbike at the olympics (correct me if i wrong), although everyone (including me) said that it wont happen, what does that tell about your expertise?
  15. No, Abbott wasnt one of the favorites. Its funny that you now want to teach me about womens cycling, although you just said a couple of day ago that you dont follow womens cycling and dont know who the favorites are ...
  16. Netherlands! I am very happy!
  17. What about Japan, Canada and the Netherlands, they also might be ahead of Germany. Our team lost 3rd place on balance beam, Schäfer and Alt both lost at least 0.5 points. In my opinion Alt was clearly underscored, i think she had a better execution than Schäfer + they deducted 0.3 of her D score.
  18. More importantly: I hope that your rider is ok, the crash looked horrible. I am just sick of seeing another american no-name winning gold coming out of nowhere. Many americans only show up every four years, you have to wonder why. For many american athletes olympics are a huge chance to become rich, i think thats the reason why many american athletes are willing to do everything to win a gold.
  19. Gold for Australia? Very sad to see Rossi without a medal. And again everyone can see that shooting is basically unpredictable, anyone can win a medal.
  20. I guess we will never win a medal ... I hope that a dutch girl wins gold.
  21. Wow ... France might really win a medal. Do you think that Jung still has a chance for gold?
  22. Yeah, this is almost a perfect competition, they cant do much better. Balance beam still to come, if 2 or 3 of our athletes fall down, then we wont make the final. This would be the first final for Germany since 1988!
  23. Alt now has a higher D score than Schäfer and just scored 14.8 on vault. Balance beam is always very tricky, we might get two athletes into the final or none, i hope for one and at least one on uneven bars. Berger has been injured multiple times since London 2012. I read that she has torn her cruciate ligament, her meniscus and multiple other things in her knee. I agree that she got robbed in 2012 but i am not sure whether she wouldve made the team. Scheder, Seitz, Alt and Schäfer are safe, but one out of Berger/Chusovitina might have repaced Bui in the team. I think in the end she couldnt have helped us very much, i think with her our overall score wouldve been 0.4-0.5 points better at best.
  24. Very sad to hear, i really wonder what happened after 2013 ... But lets be honest: He won everything one can dream of, he is double olympic champion and world champion.
  25. Wow i just learnt that Saraiva is only 1.33m tall ... that cant be true ...
