  1. This is my understanding of it (and was how it worked in Tokyo fwiw)
  2. Some could have 3 if you include indoor national championships…
  3. The medals are between 4/5 athletes and Rhasidat is one of them. and maybe the challengers
  4. Some pacific number one seeds in there. lol
  5. Something that’s slightly annoying is some sports have informed the teams, but not anyone else. eg confirming their re-allocated diving spot without any word from World Aquatics
  6. I guess I’m arguing that why would you change it to another system that has flaws? If the idea is to get the “best team” or most likely to win medals, I don’t see see this as solving that. If they can find the perfect system, great, but whatever they choose will have its issues so I don’t see any sense in them changing it
  7. But who decides period X? What if someone has a great time early in the window, but is completely out of form by the end? There are holes to be picked in whatever format is chosen
  8. Are we including the pre- opening ceremony days?
  9. The original article said Shannon Sweeney. Presume Gracenote said the event and Ian O’Riordan looked up the wrong boxer
  10. Team Ireland has officially announced Jake Passmore for the 3m springboard event. He was waiting for a re-allocated spot in diving for the 3rd Olympics in a row
  11. I still expect the cream to rise but the world championships have teams of 7/8 to chase the early breaks and set up the leaders If a break gets away with Stuyven, Hayter, Lozkano and Mohoric (for example), it could stay away as the four big nations there will all fancy a medal
  12. Having such small teams means it will be a very hard race to control. Could be any kind of medalists tbh
  13. I’m done! We’ll see who turns up in Paris
  14. The Dutch sprinters are back in
  15. Should be yeah. I could see Eddie Dunbar chosen with Healy too.
  16. Just don’t check first thing in the morning
  17. The men’s squad has been announced Remco Evenepoel (RR/TT) Wout van Aert (RR/TT) Jasper Stuyven (RR) Tiesj Benoot (RR) Too hard for Philipsen is the belief
  18. While it was definitely a fluke, they’re right in saying for pretty much every other country in the world she’d be at the Olympics. Just on her 2024 SB she’d be a likely finalist
  19. Because they don’t really have much option once they decide to have seeds. The world championships were missed by a lot of countries. As were Euro champs. And once they established the pacific qualifying route, they had to acknowledge it Boxing seeding has always been rubbish and some fighters have always had easier routes to a medal than others. Every non-seed will want to be on the side of the Aussies now but there’s still so much luck involved with the draw
  20. NOCs have to confirm their entrants but that’s the final list of qualifiers
  21. And it wouldn’t just be a disgruntled athlete, it would be adidas v Nike etc
  22. Yes. She's 50th on the IGF ranking https://www.igfgolf.org/olympic-golf-ranking/womens-olympic-golf-ranking
