Yeah, that's why I said it. In our country's case (Spain), we had a guy in mono-bob in YOG's but now he has nothing to do as there's no more Spaniards in this sport to compete with....

Well, now that we are all opening up on our family issues, i feel like i can confess my past crimes too: every time in the old forum when Sindo edited a single insignificant phrasing or a space in my results posts, I always went back to it after a certain time and edited it back purely out of spite for the sheer sillyness of the situation

Firstly, I want to talk about the 'regime'. I was reading some cross-country skiing threads and noticed that @heywoodu failed to post in the correct one twice. When I reloaded the page, I saw that all three cross-country threads were on the top and I thought it would be funny to poke fun at that, you know, just for shits & giggles. I made a screenshot and precisely picked an off topic thread for general discussions with the sole purpose to make a joke and now it's moved into suggestions & problems thread. You see where this is going? I was making a joke! I was not commenting on an issue of the forum, it was supposed to be simple fun, but now it's in the problem thread

Secondly, in my humble opinion, editing posts of users to fit certain standards makes the user feel stupid. No one should feel like they did something wrong, just because they didn't post the right way. I remember even from old Totallympics how many times my font, the size of the letters and colours were changed for stuff like entry lists or even entering a TISC competition. There was only one blue, only one pink, only one green that could be used and if you tried anything different it was changed to be the same like the rest to have a unifying principle. If you misspelled a word in the topic, you could guarantee that it would be edited, because illiteracy would be too difficult to handle here. I know, it's cool to see everything neat and in order, but it only adds a feeling that you're always safeguarded and watched.

Anyways, from my experience of all these years in Totallympics I can say that I developed a fear of opening threads. My last thread that I opened was the TISC that I hosted that had a perfect template made for the first few pages, yet I still felt stress whilst opening it Back in old TT, I remember seeing users use different tables and other stuff that I was always unable to re-create and everything would be edited to be perfect no matter how much I tried to come close to those standards. Anyways, throughout the years, I stopped trying to do anything creative here and resigned to just comment on stuff, because that's the only thing that I can do right here.

Final thoughts: a forum should not be alienating its own users. I appreciate your work @Sindo and I appreciate you inviting me here all these years ago. It's not like I'm going to leave, primarily because I would miss all of the emotional ladies of this forum, but I gotta say, that I'm not as active as I used to be, because there's not that many things left to discuss for me. When biathlon season ends and TISC hasn't started yet, pretty much the only posts that I'll be able to make will be me writing about a good Lithuanian result in some thread that no one will care about Anyways, that's my two cents in this whole situation.

will be represented by Val Sweeting / Brad Gushue (Olympic Gold medalist 2006) or Kaitlyn Lawes (gold medalist in 2014) and John Morris (gold medalist in 2010) in the mixed doubles in Pyeongchang.

    These will qualify
     Nigeria
     Jamaica
Ghana (also has an alpine skier)
    North Korea

Just outside qualification and need better results
Tajikistan (needs a couple good results to qualify)
Venezuela: no race results since last update, needs 2-3 good results
Nepal (needs a couple good results)
Tonga  1 more race needed... but he hasn't been close to hitting it after Project Bogota.

    Unlikely:
     Trinidad and Tobago
     Algeria
Paraguay (needs good results x5 to qualify... time is running out).

First 4 should qualify, I also predict Tajikistan, Nepal and Tonga to qualify. So 7 more nations would equal 96 countries.

Hockey without a doubt is #1. Short track is second, very fun sport to watch on tv and better in person (these athletes are so fast!). Biathlon is surprisngly third for me, its very interesting to watch as anything can happen.

First pick is a izzy one, I guess just because it´s the best sport ! Long live to Canada for the best invention in the history of humanity : Ice Hockey !!!

For my number 2 Ski Jumping, because I love this sport since my childhood and I´m very sad this fabulous sport is dead in SVK for a long while now for my 3rd place it was a internal battle between Alpine Skiing, Biathlon and Nordic Combined, I chose NC because it's a beautiful and extremely demanding sport that does not deserve to end without a point in any poll
but yeah, if I could, I would choose all 15. Winter Sports all the way !

Peru chose Basque pelota and bodybuilding. However, surfing was their primary choice, but that was auto added because of its addition to Tokyo 2020.
Canada didn't choose a sport in 2015, but rather a event (women's baseball), which has been dropped from Lima 2019.

Water skiing is actually a cool sport, I got to experience it live in 2015 at the Pan American Games. Canada usually does well as well, so that doesn't hurt

For 2019, women will compete in wakeboarding for the first time.

As for bodybuilding it is only 2 events (one men and one women, 16 athletes each). Nothing like in the Asian Games where they had 10 weight categories.

    Hey there Canada (esp. intoronto)!

I've been in China which basically blocks everything.  Long story, but I should finally have access to this place, just in time for the lead up to the Olympics.

I used to live in South Korea, so disappointed that I will miss this one.  Tried to make it work, but the tickets and accommodations were just way too expensive.  I could have stayed in Seoul, but that's missing the point.  I was going to drop by the final weekend, but it didn't work out.

Instead I'll be on a beach in Thailand watching instead.  Tough life, I know.  Just excited I can finally come here and elsewhere (CBC was also blocked).

Mark  said just now that he had bad experiences with wax stores and needs a team to travel with. I asked Manikala‘s  manager, he said he could help out...  This will be interesting!

Else the skier from Costa Rica   told me he might try Alpine skiing for 2022. And I was talking to a skier from Venezuela  but he tried to hit on me (yes, in that way ). That got awkward really fast. The end.

    From another Isafjordur race page:
    http://www.fossavatn.com/en
“Our partner Craft Sport offers waxing services at their store, where you can leave your skis and have them done for you. The guesthouses usually try to provide some facilities for their guests who want to wax their skis themselves. There are waxing facilities at the parking behind Hotel Isafjordur, Silfurtorgi 2 where skiers can wax their own skis. You have to bring your own stuff though.”

Some good news: will compete! The Puerto Rico Olympic Committee has given the winter sports federation a 6 month approval of membership, which will allow Charles Flaherty to compete in alpine skiing.
