  1. Well, Canada’s collective time at Trials compared to Great Britain’s time at Trials is about 5 seconds faster… McIntosh 2.5 seconds ahead of Colbert, Harvey 1 second ahead of Wood, Brousseau 0.5 of a second ahead of Harris, and O’Croinin 1 second ahead of Hope. All of the Canadians are in PB form too. Even with Anderson back somewhere near her best, it won’t be much of a contest. Of course, it’s possible that McIntosh might not swim in this relay at Paris… but unlikely IMO.
  2. Well that didn’t last long. Defensive lapse and now 2-1 just 23 seconds later
  3. Carson Soucy in his first game back from suspension scores (he was out game 4) at 2:33 in the 1st period, to tie the game up at 1-1 against the Oilers!
  4. Forgot to mention, but Kylie Masse went 2:06.24 in the women’s 200m backstroke at the Olympic Trials. Rounding into form right in time for Paris, and also putting herself into medal contention with these times. Earlier in the week, she went 57.94 in the women’s 100m backstroke.
  5. I don’t understand it either, but I think they might just be competing in the event for international experience.
  6. Canada with a HUGE 3-0 win over the Dominican Republic today in Women’s VNL!!! 1-1 record now, and only 14 (!) points behind the Netherlands for the final Olympic quota, with the 13.1 that we gained today!!
  7. with a HUGE (and do I mean HUGE) 3-0 victory over No Brenda or Bethania for the Dominican Republic, but still a great win against a great team… Very important for our Olympic qualification hopes, lowering the gap to the Netherlands to about 14 points, with 13.1 points today. @Adriano @Laraja
  8. Maybe but only the top 4 are probably guaranteed.

  10. Canadian record in men’s S8 100m freestyle for Reid Maxwell in 1:00.23!
  11. I know some of you don’t care much about our para team and the Paralympic, but I’m so excited to see our para-swimming athletes (and athletics) in action at Paris. Potential for an increase on the 16 medals we won (in both sports) in Tokyo.
  12. Agree, minus Kharun’s 100m freestyle. I was expecting a much better time than 49.37.
  13. Kylie Masse 2:06.24 in the women’s 200m backstroke! Regan Rathwell also qualifies in 2:09.38!
  14. Josh Liendo 47.55 in the men’s 100m freestyle! Yuri Kisil also qualifies individually!
  15. Summer McIntosh 4:24.38 WR in the women’s 400m individual medley at the Canadian Olympic Trials! Smashes her previous WR by 1.5 seconds (4:25.87)
  16. Summer McIntosh 4:24.38 WR in the women’s 400m individual medley!
  17. Goaltender Daws gets an empty net assist!
  18. Any reason why? Hopefully he’s just extending his training block.
  19. Either that or some countries aren’t fielding their best lineups.
  20. Another 3rd period collapse incoming This team is not winning gold.
