  1. Bad day for our sports climbers. In the boulder portion of qualification, Sean McColl finished 29th in men’s combined, and Oscar Bautrand 39th, while Alannah Yip finished 39th as well. All of them will need to produce good lead scores in order to make the top 20.
  2. I was watching it, and originally had him at that time, but then I thought I got it wrong because SwimSwam had him at 47.60 Turns out I didn’t. Still a GREAT time though.
  3. Women’s team defeated Lithuania 19-16. One more game to go in pool play against Czech Republic on Saturday.
  4. Canada’s men’s team lost 21-18 to Egypt. Lol. Alex Johnson was on fire in the end, scoring 3 2s (second one was an and 1) but too little too late as they were already down 18-11.
  5. 47.60 for Josh Liendo!! Kharun just barely sneaks into the final in 10th.
  6. 49.75 in the men’s 100m freestyle prelims for Ilya Kharun.
  7. Well he’s 40th in the Olympic Ranking, and he actually produced a solid score as well. It’s just that (unfortunately for him) everyone else was doing that as well.
  8. As previously reported by intoronto, our men’s team starts off the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament with a 18-14 victory over Spain. Alex Johnson with the buzzer-beater at the end to clinch it! Women’s team defeats Chile 21-11, Chile played much better than expected especially in the first half of the game.
  9. Is that even surprising though?
  10. Russell adds another 3,769 points to his total, while Papa adds another 1,997 points to his total. Heading into the Budapest leg of the series, Russell is on 24,496 points, and Papa is on 9,535 points.
  11. Fay Ebert also advances in women’s park prelims, in 15th.
  12. Matt Berger and Ryan Decenzo qualify for the men’s street semifinals in 12th and 13th respectively. Cordano Russell finished in 23rd, while Micky Papa finished in 29th.
  13. 82.63 for Matt Berger Currently 2nd overall in men’s street prelims, with 2 more heats to go. Micky Papa is currently in 10th, I’d say it’s quite unlikely for him to be making the 16-person semifinals now.
  14. 70.26 for Micky Papa on his 2nd run in men’s street prelims! Good enough for 7th so far. Top 16 advance to the semifinals, with 20 athletes still to go (2nd runs of heat 2 still haven’t finished also)
  15. Alannah Yip gets the flash (for those of you who don’t follow sport climbing, it’s a first attempt top) on her 2nd boulder! Currently on 30.0 points, but she still has 2 more boulders to go.
  16. After struggling on his 1st boulder, recording 0.0 points, Sean McColl rebounds on his 2nd boulder (pink course) getting the top and scoring 24.8 points.
  17. Competition has started. Fay Ebert placed 2nd in the 1st heat of women’s park prelims with 55.17 points. Top 16 advance to the semifinals (still 20 athletes to go)
  18. Madrid wins the second men’s quota. Aguirre was 3-2 up but lost
  19. Vega wins the second women’s quota.
  20. Lorenzo with the first men’s quota. Congrats! @MatiReimundo @konig
