Men's Basketball. It'll also be the first ever team sport they'll participate at the Olympics.9 points -
I wasn't expecting much from this World Cup. we shouldn't even qualify (we did only because AUS forfeited the game in Tehran) still we should beat CIV with better officiating and LBN was also beatable. but that's OK it was more like "let's have fun" kind of tournament for us. but our best basketball player ever announced his retirement today , despite being old, injured, tired etc he never turned his back to the national team. he was our Luis Scola (the player I admire the most)6 points

Trenutno stanje nakon GP u Parizu M68 1. Sinden GBR 414 2. Rashitov UZB 401 3. Recber TUR 369 4. Golubic CRO 296 5. Kareem JOR 294 ---------------------- 6. Perez Polo ESP 284 7. Cala ESP 257 8. Jin KOR 252 9. Pontes BRA 244 10. Liang CHN 215 11. Alhalwani JOR 198 Ako svi uzmu do kraja godine 40 bodova iz G1/G2 turnira, sto je vrlo vjerovatno, onda je poredak: 1. Sinden 434 2. Rashitov 401 3. Recber 400 4. Kareem 315 5. Golubic 308 ------------------ 6. Perez Polo 286 7. Cala 270 8. Jin 253 9. Pontes 244 10. Liang 215 11.

I was always interested to see how other Slovaks do when learning french, because I know it from my own experience, it is damn hard for us ! It may not look so, but french is probably harder for us than Arab or Chinese lol, especially because of the french for us, a completely illogical composition of sentences and different tenses trust me it was first for me a real pain in the ass So really pleasantly surprised to see a guy in 2 months doing quite well2 points

So basically a forever rotation between North America / Japan and former british colonies. That's a fantastic idea.2 points -
Personally, I've long believed that baseball/softball and cricket should be rotated. Neither needs the Olympics every four years, but each would like to be Olympic sports, both represent a particular family of sports - bat-and-ball, or 'safe haven' sports (along with GAA rounders and a few others). To me, the obvious solution is to put them in rotation - the Olympics becomes a genuine once in a life time opportunity, and hosts can bid knowing which Games suits them - So if LA did baseball, and Brisbane did Cricket, the 36 bidder would know it was baseball again, and an India or South Africa might wait until 40 for cricket again. Everyone's a winner.2 points

Once upon a time, Melbourne hosted its equestrian events in Stockholm. Next year, Paris will host its surfing events in the Pacific. If LA doesn't have a suitable venue, it should have said so - but I would be as certain as is humanly possible that somewhere could host the rowing Olympic regatta on LA's behalf1 point -

because they want to use the iconic Long Beach Marina and not the place that was chosen when they presented their bid if IOC and World rowing were serious institutions, they would have recalled the arrogant LA organizers to stay with the original plan same for the Slalom Canoeing Center in Oklahoma City rather than in the LA area1 point

She was very, very impressive - left a lot of finalist quality athletes in the dust. Do wonder if her strength from 1500 might be the best antidote to Moraas sprint speed and construction - just put the hammer down after 300 metres and don't stop. The big three are all 400-800 style runners, Mary extremely so. Of that top group (the Big Three, Rogers and Reekie) only Reekie is more of an 800-1500, but she's only getting her bearings back.1 point

most probably to the next wrestler in the standing, the loser of 5th place match. (this time only 5 quotas are available at the WCh for each weight, not 6) and if two AIN wrestlers finish in top 5 (both RUS and BLR) I assume the quota goes to the 7th place guy who will be determined by the classification points (which is based on pure luck)1 point
-
from what I found out, Russia registered its wrestlers in freestyle too. they are not on the list because UWW still has to check them one by one for those "neutrality" criteria. this is the list Russia wants to send, I mean those who won their freestyle trials. not sure if UWW accepts all 10 of them. 57 Zavur Uguev 61 Abasgadzhi Magomedov 65 Shamil Mamedov 70 Evgeny Zherbaev 74 Zaurbek Sidakov 79 Akhmed Usmanov 86 Arslan Bagaev 92 Vladislav Valiev 97 Abdulrashid Sadulaev 125 Abdulla Kurbanov1 point

Not really IMO, to put it very simply: any team inside the top 10 of ranking is almost certain to qualify for Paris. I don't see Argentina or Brazil dropping below those places by June next year.1 point

Far from lowering costs, football is a HUGE revenue generator for the Olympics. All stadia are already there and ticket sales far, far exceed any costs associated with staging the games Its not going anywhere1 point
