:GER triple jumper Maria Purtsa will now represent :GRE

She is 36th in the current World Rankings, so a decent pickup for us :yes

It was announced on our athletics federation website and also on Instagram and she reposted it.

She was born and raised in Germany to a Greek father and a Bulgarian mother. Her father is from Pella, Greece and she visits frequently.

Glad I can rely on you to let me know when this is, because one of the biggest Greek sport sites published an article today saying that we will have three athletes competing in Dortmund, but nowhere in the article did they state when the meet would take place

I'm coming back with my discus updates. One solid result on the men's side, Connor Bell opened his season with 65.39,his fourth best ever result.

I'll be shocked if anyone breaks the Čeh-Stahl-Alekna trio this season.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
