  5. Let us then move on recurve sunday.... Well recurve is the Olympic event and of course it is the koreans who are dominating........ First *mens team* .... India vs the much storied Korea team... In an astonishing game India thrashed the koreans 5-1 .... *Gasp* a gold in recurve Then India was up in the bronze match in mixed pairs against Mexico.... They won 6-0 to give us a second medal in recurve Then *women's individual* deepika kumar who had beaten a korean jeon in the QF was up against a second korean Nam in the SF .. . And it was expected the korean would take revenge but deepika was superb and won 6-0.... On to the finals and yet another korean was there lim... Would deepika decimate the entire korean team one after the other.... But alas not be and Lim won gold and deepika the silver.... But 🤩🤩🤩🤩 wow... Three medals in recurve 1Gold , 1 Silver and 1Bronze in recurve Sunday...... *Yes what a world Cup.. . Best performance ever at archery world Cup by India at least as per my memory.... 8 medals ( 5G, 2S, 1B out of 10 events)* ......

  9. Meanwhile in Madrid, Mitku Tafa attacked almost immediately, opened a more than 2-minute gap on the chasers (and the track record) and then was absolutely and utterly destroyed in the last few kilometers....but he managed to hang on and somehow finish with a few seconds of advantage left on the chasers Now that's bravery being rewarded!
  10. Don't know how they are going to do it. Just say winner take all at the World Cup Finals in Bulgaria, but it will be cruel for somebody. Too late to switch to !
  11. Xiamen Challenge | Xiamen, Challenge Women’s Tournament Gold- Sandra Ittlinger/Karla Borger Silver- Anouk Verge-Depre/Joanna Mader Bronze- Monika Paulikiene/Aine Raupelyte German #2 race between Ludwig/Lippmann and Ittlinger/Borger is getting interesting. Men’s Tournament Gold- Marco Grimalt/Esteban Grimalt Silver- Youssef Krou/Arnaud Gauthier-Rat Bronze- Lukas Pfretzschner/Sven Winter Very disappointing result for all of the teams, with two 9ths (Bansley/Bukovec and Pavan/McBain) and Schachter/Dearing losing both of their matches to finish 21st Full Results Up next, the Brasilia Challenge from May 1-5!
  12. Not trying to answer to everything (it would take a long post of repeating word for word the same things said yesterday or 1 month ago over and over), just want to point out that: 1) Ilieva, even if she fails today, and Llavador are 99% getting in with reallocation; 2) the FIE absolutely and rightly wants to keep 12 olympic events, which they manager to get at Tokyo 2021 for the first time, and thinking that the IOC would keep the same number of quotas for fencing if they get rid of the team events is pure nonsense (and, sorry to say it, but it doesn't surprise me that the suggestion come from someone who barely follows the sports). With only 6 events it's way more likely that there'd be a much smaller field. Anyway the IOC also wrote to the FIE making clear that they consider the fencing qualification system a good one. You can read hundreds of page long transcripts of the FIE meetings on their website, in the last few years most of the time was spent discussing first the olympic qualification and then the Russian status.

  15. but they need superB starts. Really hard job. Medals in GS or Wchamps are not easy to get.
  16. The Womens 200m Fly is looking very tight and Regan or Summer could win it. Dekkers is always improving and could be under 2.05 by trials as for Steenbergen,I understand she is a favourite for many of the Europeans in the 100m Free and Im sure she will lift for Paris. I think MOC and Haughey will be at another level. Steenbergen may be fighting it out for Bronze between Douglass and the second Australian (Jack,McKeon,Harris or C.Campbell) not sure on the love here for Gretchen Walsh. Sure she was fast doing tumbleturns in a Michigan High School bathtub but still has plenty to prove in a real 50m pool.

  21. But is she consistently recording marks around that range, or even anywhere near 6.80m? No. Not saying she won’t be a contender, but I wouldn’t consider her to be one of the main favourites unless she can prove that she can do medal winning marks at the majority of her competitions.
