Because team sprint doesn't deserve to exist.

Sprinters may dominate this event at WC, but really it's a distance event. Every major event (Olympics in particular) it's the same old story, distance athletes enter their first team sprint ever and dominate...

Amazingly, Sundby's one and only team sprint competition was held on February 17th... 2008. Bjoergen isn't much better with her last being Sochi, and having only two in the last 10 years.

 

And yet they'll both become Olympic medalists today... Shame!

Personally I think of it in the same way as mass start in speed skating, but the exact opposite in terms of what should be different

 

Mass start should be way longer to be taken serious.

Team sprint should be way shorter to be taken serious (for example 6x500m, so you sort of have a double sprint, which makes more sense with two athletes).

Right, now to hope and pray somehow USA, Finland, Sweden and Russia (such a balanced semi-final..) will all look at each other, make it a slow race, and Australia qualifies on time

They should've asked for Kaisa if the need is there.
