Great win for over Wish I was there but 1) I just got back to work after a month and 2) it's a 4 hour drive from my home lol Pleased by the crowds, all 8,5k tickets sold out for night matches, which is huge considering the prices (most tickets are like R$200). Of course first match of the day was mostly attended by students who got in for free, but at least there was people there I hope they bring back more competitions to Recife cause that's the only realistic way I could go.

I prefer this format with Knockout Round (remember 2018 when the medalists had to play 12 matches??? As opposed to 7 now), but Brazil will have to wait a whole week for their match lol Enjoying some matches but attendance is so very low (aside from home teams). There was like 100 people today for Argentina vs Egypt and Italy vs China.

I'll be extremely surprised if Brazil goes through QF (even being eliminated in Round of 16 wouldn't be that much of a shocker).

When was the last time we had a great Volleyball competition? Before the pandemic, I'd say. Beach Volleyball Worlds was a huge flop and this won't be that great either.

Exactly, but USA and Canada can still qualify even though they're far ahead of the competition. I guess they want do give opportunities for other South American nations that won't go to the Olympics.

Never understood why Brazil can't participate in this anymore. Brazil could send a B team and win a medal (as long as USA and Canada did the same).

Isaquias medal today was his first silver in World Championships, having already won 7 gold and 6 bronze medals. He now has 14 World medals, losing only to Cielo (19), Scheidt (17), Grael (16) and Cunha (15) as our biggest medalists ever. I think Cunha and Isaquias still have plenty of time to improve this ranking.

Once again Brazil easily qualifies for the Olympics, and once again I fear we'll do mediocre. This team can't win against most teams outside of South America/Africa/Asia. But there's always room for improvement...

Can we talk about how bad the final stage court looks? Anyway, kinda suprise result today as Serbia defeated huge favourite USA - meaning we'll have a new champion this time.

Honestly these Games are almost a non-event for me. If you want to watch anything you have to search in multiple sources and once you find it, most of them are blocked in Brazil. So much restrictions that I gave up on Day 1.

Someone probably already posted an answer, but why didn't we have High Diving at this year's Worlds? Does anyone know if we'll have a separate competition or FINA just doesn't care?
