    Yes, she lost almost 1 point compared to qualifications, and knowing that BB was next, I was nervous. Thankfully, she did alright in BB (even with a 7.5E) and amazing in Floor (probably her best ever with this routine).

    Maurren Maggi, 2008 Olympic champion, is participating in the protests with Bolsonaro supporters against election results. If one day I rooted for this woman, I deeply regret it now.

    Agreed, but these results are embarrassing either way. Caio needs PH to have a chance to fight for a good result in AA and he couldn't score 12.000 today.

    After 4 rotations, I think has guaranteed a quota, and probably too (unless something disastrous happens). is looking good for third after a bad start in PH.

    The only team to do a good job on pommel horse so far, even counted a 11.000 (although they will recover in the next apparatus).

    PH is today's BB, most teams doing terrible.

    This reminds me of the Vault scandal at the 2000 Olympics, but of course that was much more serious. Here, I just think most gymnasts are having a terrible competition in balance beam - aside from Ou Yushan, but I don't wanna jinx her...

    Bolso finally did a speech... a 2-minute speech. Didn't mentioned Lula, thanked his voters and briefly critized the left-wing in Brazil. He plans to travel by the end of the year and won't be present at Lula's inauguration (which would be the first president to do so since the end of military dictatorship 37 years ago).

    a mess in BB, no Flavia to rescue us. and all pretty good in this rotation. probably the only team that is totally out?

    starts with 3 falls in BB from a single gymnast. I think this apparatus will determine the final results, but are looking good so far.

    Flávia Saraiva will only compete in UB today. It's over for Brazil. Now we only have possibilities of a medal with Rebeca as usual.

    Yes, they forgot to pay the US$ 1,5k fee and FIBA refused to accept their registration. Glad Brazil will be allowed now, I think it would be a disaster if we didn't participate.

    Bolsonaro supporters have blocked 270 federal highways in Brazil (+many others smaller roads), and yesterday they blocked the main entry to our biggest airport (some flights were cancelled). Police initially did nothing, but now is stopping the protesters.

    Most votes from the old right-wing parties (like PSDB) went to Bolsonaro's PL, where you can find some of the most lunatic politicians in the world (antivaxxers, flat-earthers and, in worst cases, fascists), but the party isn't really united, so some can "help" Lula's government althought it won't be easy. Lula is also expected to have the support of some center and right-wing politicians.
