  1. While I appreciate @Memo's response, I've decided not to allow Turkey's votes in this edition. I have read all of the participants' inputs and it seems pretty divided wether to allow this participation or not, both by reasons cited here and by other concerns I have. When it was time to register the songs, there was some talk about allowing users with no (or very little) participation on the forum, but then I've decided to follow the rules and allow Turkey's entry, mainly because the user was registered on Totallympics long enough (more than a year, I think, even if it was with a different account). So now it only seems fair that I follow the rules again. One thing is to extend a deadline for someone who asks for it (for any reason) or give any indication that they will vote, other is to allow votes after some important post-voting things already happened. Allowing such votes would definitely change some placings in the final ranking, and while that would be good for some nations, it wouldn't make others very happy - even if this contest is all about fun. I have talked privately with Memo and invited him to take part in our Festival of Music next weekend and in the upcoming Open contest later this year, if he wishes so. I hope we can move forward and next week I think we will have all the templates ready to go (I'm having trouble with the logo, but it should be presented soon).
  2. Actually, a GUEST user reported one of my posts and when I went to see the complaint, it was the votes (maybe they forgot the password again or maybe just general confusion about how the forum works?). Honestly, if they have sent his votes to me on time (and not to @amen09), it would have avoid this mess. But that was not the case and a few things happened in the mean time, including: the draw; counting the votes of everyone (pending Moldova's correction of a vote); starting working on the vote templates which are determined by the draw; and (spoiler) So yes, I'm all for the participation of different nations, but this is kind of a mess and to allow such votes now would mean that we'll have to restart some of the work that's already been done.
  3. Better match today for Brazil, facing a weaker adversary - I thought Ecuador could give us some trouble, but sadly they were much better four years ago.
  4. Thanks guys for the wonderful draw, especially @OlympicIRL and @dcro. I wasn't online for the most part, but I see now that was great fun
  5. Also, I will contact people who voted for Turkey (if there was any) in order to correct their votes order.
  6. Unfortunately we have to disqualify Turkey from the contest. In addition to not posting the votes on time, the user didn't answer any of the messages here and elsewhere about the contest, so it's unlikely they will send the votes if we extend the deadline. Moldova has a problem in the voting but it's accepted for now and will be a part of the draw, but will need to fix the issues soon. With Turkey out of the competition, we have 41 nations competing. In the end, only Turkey and 3 users from multi-member juries didn't vote.
  7. Only the ones marked in blue in the second post of this thread. So only 7 nations remaining, but we can actually say only 6 since Moldova voted but is pending a correction.
  8. The problem is, it isn't simply a "bug", but something that will definitely change the final results. But in a conversation with the organizers we agreed that Moldova won't be disqualified if doesn't correct this problem today because he voted anyway. We will give some more days to fix this.
  9. Yes, I can't find anything anymore Thankfully, I have all the votes saved.
  10. I think @Sindo has contacted both @Il_qar and @Ionoutz24 on Facebook. @Janakis has contacted me and will send his votes on Facebook
  11. Brazil won but played very bad. I wonder if Colombia might have a chance to win this.
  12. 26 nations have voted, 16 remaining now. I'm worried about @Ionoutz24 who did sent his votes, but needs to fix something before they're accepted.
  13. We had an issue with Moldova's vote so until it's solved (hopefully very soon) I can't count them. With Estonia, we're at 24/42.
  14. With exactly 4 days to go, 20/42 nations have voted. Will I need to extend the deadline?
  15. As today we celebrate the 1-month-to-go mark for the Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2018 Grand Final, we are proud to announce the cities and venues that will host the music competition. Around the five major regions of Brazil, a total of 10 cities will be the home for the 42 delegations: our capital Brasília (DF), Cuiabá (MT), Fernando de Noronha (PE), Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Gramado (RS), Manaus (AM), Natal (RN), Ouro Preto (MG), Salvador (BA) and São Luís (MA). In addition to those cities, the contest itself will take place in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), home of the 2016 Summer Olympics. The legendary Maracanã stadium will be the venue of unforgettable Opening and Closing ceremonies, while the Olympic Park will have the honour of hosting the contest. Having recently received the Rock in Rio festival, the Park not only will be the main stage for the Annucal TISC, but host a number of events in celebration of our 10th overall contest, such as: the World Music street, in which international artists from our Festival of Music will perform; the Brazilian Roots street, a stage for contemporary and classical artists from the home nation; the TISC Official Exhibition at the Carioca Arena, celebrating the achievements and history of the contests; and last but not least, the Winterfest Special Presentation at the newly refurbished Aquatics/Ice Centre, giving fans a taste of the music from our friends of the south. We hope you will join us in Brazil 2018!
  16. From this day on, I hope to do a series of posts showing the progress and preparations for the contest in Brazil. Today, I will start with the cities and venues, hope you'll enjoy!
  17. Today we had the Prêmio Brasil Olímpico for the best brazilian athletes of 2017. The nominees were: Best Female Athlete Ana Marcela Cunha (Marathon Swimming) Ana Sátila (Slalom Canoeing) Mayra Aguiar (Judo) Best Male Athlete André Stein/Evandro Gonçalves (Beach Volleyball) Caio Bonfim (Athletics) Marcelo Melo (Tennis) The winners were Mayra Aguiar and Marcelo Melo (the first award for the sport since Guga Kuerten in 2000). Caio Bonfim won "Atleta da Torcida" (popular vote). Here is a complete list of the best brazilian athletes from each Olympic sport in 2017.
  18. I hope everyone votes on time While there wasn't any problem with the deadline to register the songs, now there's only 10 days left for 31 nations to send their votes.
  19. Just a quick announcement regarding a schedule change. The Voting Oder Draw, that was previously scheduled for Sunday April 8th, will happen Saturday April 7th. @OlympicIRL will direct the proceedings, for which I'm already grateful. The Festival of Music, that was previously scheduled for that day, has been pushed back a week to Saturday April 14th.
  20. The level is very good this year, most people are having trouble to figure out their top 12, which is good I think
