The Gala red carpet event is being held right now in front of the Municipal Theatre. The streets have been closed and the carpet extends itself to the Marechal Floriano square, giving the general public a close look of the celebrations. It's a big festivity for all the artists, musicians and delegations that arrived in Brazil for the Totallympics International Song Contest 2018, celebrating the 10th edition of music contests. And now, the moment we're all be waiting for: the arrival of the competing teams in Brazil 2018! One by one, the teams will dazzle the red carpert. First, we will start with the group that stayed at the national capital!

Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro Located in Cinelândia at the Marechal Floriano square, the Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro it's considered to be one of the most beautiful and important theatres in the country. With a seating capacity of more than 2,000, it was built in the beginning of the twentieth century. The building is designed in an eclectic style inspired by Paris Opéra of Charles Garnier. The interior of the theater is as luxurious as the facade - with sculptures by Henrique Bernardelli and paintings by Rodolfo Amoedo and Eliseu Visconti, also responsible for its majestic drop curtain, the frieze on the proscenium, the nave ceiling and the decorations of the foyer ceiling. A restaurant located in the basement brings a very peculiar style thanks to its impressive Assyrian decor - where is clear the reference to the Xerxes Palace in Persepolis. It was here that the first masquerade balls of Rio were hosted.

We're delighted you've been able to join us for tonight's Gala, the first of many events that Brazil is hosting this weekend. But, before the start of this evening's proceedings, let's find out details of the venue that is hosting this landmark event!

As preparations are a little behind right now, the organizing committee has to move up the starting time of both the TISC Jubilee Gala Event (to happen this Thursday) and the Opening Ceremony (Friday) a little bit from 15h00 local time to 17h00. As the events are happening in Brazil, it only makes sense that the ceremonies are at least partially held in the evening. Since the first edition of the Totallympics International Song Contest, the Festival of Music has often showcased the music from nations which are not with us in the contest - and this year wasn't different. Voters presented us a total of 21 songs that represent the rhythms and sounds of countries such as DR Congo, Jamaica, Liechtenstein and the Philippines. Now it's time to choose the songs that will have the opportunity of being performed in our celebrations. Starting today, and closing on Thursday (at 11:30AM local time), users from Totallympics can vote for a maximum of 5 nations in the Festival of Music poll opened in this thread. At the 1-week mark to the Grand Final of the Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2018, the organizing committee is proud to announce this year official motto. From Algeria to Italy, and Kazakhstan to Venezuela, more than 50 nations have participated at least one time throughout the 10 editions of the contests, with countries representing Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and the Americas. After having as hosts nations such as Great Britain, Ireland, Lithuania, Mexico and Tunisia, TISC arrives for the first time in South America, as the celebrations will take place in Brazil next weekend. Twice a year, users from around the world reunite on Totallympics in a big celebration of the universal language of music. In the words of the late singer John Denver, "music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves: We are the same." That was one of the inspirations for the Brazil 2018 contest official motto "Music connects the world" (Música conecta o mundo, in portuguese), but mostly this is about all the forum members that make this such a special event.

AUSTRALIA "My My My!" is the lead single from the upcoming second studio album of the 22-year-old singer and songwriter Troye Sivan. According to Sivan, "'My My My!' is a song of liberation, freedom, and love. Throw all inhibition to the wind, be present in your body, love wholeheartedly, move the way you've always wanted to, and dance the way you feel". It's been some time Australia has participated in our music contests, but if they had returned this year, I think this would be a great entry. CHILE Camila Gallardo is a 21 year old singer who achieved national recognition after being the runner-up in the first season of the talent show The Voice Chile. "Abrázame" is the second single from her debut album Rosa, yet to be released. On a personal note, I think this is an incredible record that I whish would have taken part in our contest. I certainly hope for a Chile comeback in the next edition.
