  1. I love Serena, but this award was really ludicrous - the nomination itself was also questionable. Some really bad choices this year.
  2. I took @Werloc's comments very seriously, so there's been indeed some discussion about Algeria's registration in the contest. Not only I talked with @OlympicIRL and @Sindo about this, but also with @bestmen himself. That's why I didn't include Algeria's name in the list of registered nations before (although we have added for now). First of all, there's a portion of our of the Totallympics Song Contests Official Rulebook that talks specifically about the conduct of participarts, including: Anyone is allowed to your own opinions, of course, but no one should disrespect other members/nations when discussing things in this thread (or any thread, for that matter). We recognize that our conduct towards some users in the past may have been "light", but let me assure one thing: we won't have any tolerance for such comments here and, if this happen, not only they will be deleted, but also may be used as base for further suspensions. We really hope things will run smoothly in this edition, after all the Totallympics Song Contest is supposed to be fun and, in a way, bring together our users. Also, as the "president" of the organizing committee, you guys can contact me via PM for any questions regarding our contest.
  3. Can I have Skateboarding (or Surfing) and Table Tennis?
  4. I changed the date a little to Wednesday to give people a couple more of days to recover from the post Olympic depression
  5. Virtue and Moir, the most lovely pair of these Games
  6. Brazil also say goodbye to the Games after a 23rd place finish from our team. The goal was top 20, but this still was our best result ever in Bobsleigh (in 4 participations).
  7. For the second consecutive Games, Isadora will be our flag bearer at the closing ceremony.
  8. Also Japan won just a silver in 2016. Pretty unlikely podium all around, but very nice to see the asian teams.
  9. Also pretty amazing that the gold and silver medals will go to teams that didn't win a single medal in world championships during this entire cycle. This gotta be a first?
  10. Didn't really follow this tournament, but nice to see Matt Hamilton getting a (gold) medal!

  12. Exactly. Just goes to show that the "artistic" part is not valued enough (same problem with Gymnastics).
  13. Compared to other figure skating events, this competition is rather boring so far.
  14. Ok, maybe it was a mistake not selecting Ashley Wagner...
  15. Yes, that's true. I don't know about other athletes, but even this past 6 months, Isadora needed about US$ 8 thousand monthly for training, but received US$ 5 thousand from the federation and other resources - hence the crowdfunding, which she was trying to reach US$ 5 thousand to get her through the last months. Then Olympics goes by, and there's a huge drop in funding. For snow sports, the federation has a budget of half a million a year, and for ice sports, a little less than that. So 1. they can't really support a huge number of athletes (and by "support" I mean pay some of the expenses); 2. if you're gonna be a winter athlete, just know that eventually you'll have to put your own money if you want to go to some competitions.
