Obama by a marathon, I would’ve (was too young at the time) voted for Sanders because I’m more of a socialist.

I’m sorry, but I disagree with you. We elected Clinton by a 3 million vote majority. Trump won because of an antiquated system that favors the right. Trump certainly doesn’t represent my interests. His America, is not my America. He’s made it clear that refugees are not welcome in America, so we refuse to welcome in my state.

Brazil was destroyed by Dominican Republic at the semifinal. This team is embarrassing and I hope none of these players gets called to the main team (except, of course, the ones that are greatly missed: Dani Lins and Thaísa).
Anyway, Dominican Republic and USA will fight for gold and I don't wanna brag but...

USA beat Puerto Rico 3-0 which means 1st place in Group B!

Yes, but because of the defeat to Cuba, USA will have to play Quarterfinals - as well as the 2nd ranked teams Colombia, Puerto Rico and the loser of Canada vs. Dominican Republic.
As the best 1st place teams, Brazil and the winner of Canada vs. Dominican Republic have qualified directly to the Semifinals.

For this week I would like to add that Ashima Shiraishi made it to the finals at the IFSC Climbing World Cup event in Villars, where she took 8th. Kai Lightner also made the semifinals on the men’s side. Michael Finn-Henry also made it to the 1/8 Finals in the Speed event.

Week in Summer #11 - United States
July 1st - July 8th
NOTE: Still pumping away on my spreadsheet so I can include more sports in these posts and more detail. Everyday I find new information to add and such. Some of the qualification documents are a bit confusing to understand but I'm trying to get through it! See you next week!

Blibli Indonesia Open 2018
Women's Singles
Beiwen Zhang sadly got upset first round against Aya Ohori. This is Beiwen's first ever loss to Aya as the past 3 times they have met Beiwen has come out victorious. This loss only dropped her World Tour Ranking from 3rd to 9th.
Women's Doubles
Ariel and Sydney Lee got badly beaten by Jongkolphan and Rawinda. This result is not very surprising though as the Thailand women are ranked 6th in the world for Women's Doubles
Basketball
Coaches Announced for USA Basketball Men's National Team Minicamp in Las Vegas on July 25th - 27th.

Great race again for Britain's biggest talent George Russell
Although Callum Ilott is a serious contender for that title as well, possibly Enaam Ahmed and Lando Norris too but they are less impressive so far.

Thought it was a good moment to open this thread since the Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup (which will give 5 spots for the Pan Am Games) will start this Sunday + the Central American and Caribbean Games (which will give spots in a lot of sports) will start very soon. Gradually I will be updating the number of qualified athletes in the second post (I'm still unsure about some sports).

I mean, I’ve seen multiple kids in my area tortured and killed by their parents, just because they were believed to be LGBTQ.
We have religions in North America who preach love towards pedophiles, but hate towards people who love people who the same gender. In my opinion, the child’s life should always come first, and if the parents are going to harm the child because they are special and different, then, yes please save the kids.

In M C1, W K1 and W C1 the top 20 (in M K1 the top 30) from Heat 1 advance directly to the semifinals, all remaining athletes will have another chance in Heat 2, restart from zero and top 10 will qualify to the semifinals, so we have 30 semifinalists in M C1, W K1 and W C1 (40 semifinalists in M K1)
In the semifinals only The top 10 in all events qualify for the finals.
