    Kinda surprised she actually did the laps, quite often in the case of crossfire athletes don't notice it until they get a 10 minute penalty after the race for missing 5 penalty laps

    Young Katrin Manoilova is not exactly top of the world, but at least she's sort of competitive (as in, not one of those one expects to be destroyed in the heats)....however, a week ago she had a hard fall on her head so she's out of the individual competitions right when the world champs are in her home city

    Interestingly, ex-shorttrack skater Niels Kerstholt (also Dutch, he's in the TV studio) was very much agreeing with the penalty and called Schulting's defending 'incredibly stupid' I don't watch it live a lot anymore though, usually I watch the replays so I can skip through the eternal waits

    Yeah, I meant Seidel. That was just outright stupid: crashing out someone else, falling together with that person and you get advanced while your victim gets penalized It's like you shoot someone in the legs and while doing so, the backfire hurts your hand, after which the judge sends your victim to jail and you get money for the damage to your hand

    This is getting boring though, you can barely do anything or you're kicked out. What's left of the sport when people are DQ'ed who are hit by others? (like yesterday, a Chinese girl I believe was penalized after someone hit her hard, who was in turn advanced )

    Yeah I meant Gasparin. Although he'd probably do that if he ever visits Ilia Chernousov, because I now realize it's Chernousov and not Vylegzhanin who is married with Gasparin

    On the other hand, if Bolshunov had given the win to Vyleghzanin, that would have been sort of an anticlimactic end for Vyleghzanin as well
