  1. I have, but used it so little I had totally forgotten about that Gracias.
  2. Is there a transcript of what she said so I can do without having to listen to her?
  3. Hard to find a source about that that's not some obscure site..
  4. Watching the women's 55kg at the moment....really sad to see Genesis Rodriguez' attempts at clean & jerk It's so obvious her knee/leg is just really not ok and with every single attempt you can just see the injury going from 'relatively minor' to 'potentially really, really bad' Those three attempts could have made the difference between needing a few weeks of rest and possibly being out for months...I hope that's wrong though.
  5. This would cause so many riots
  6. Out of curiousity: is there a women's american football thread?
  7. Once again I am, purely based on results, pretty impressed by East Timor
  8. Possible, although that's most likely what is generally referred to as a 'station bike': an old, kinda broken bike one places at the train station when going to work (since bikes often get stolen there, so people usually use a cheap one)
  9. Edit: never mind, this can be deleted
  10. Here mostly lazy idiots go by car if they need to go somewhere that's close Parking the bike is much easier and also, free I only have one bike, like most people, by the way
  11. Maybe Hamilton and Vettel will at some point go the Alonso-route: at some point arrive at a lesser team and then stop being a dick
  12. By the way, nothing confirmed yet about this thing being caused by visa problems, but one can logically guess there's a pretty big chance of it, there were definitely more Africans supposed to participate than only the South Africans..
  13. The last race of the year in the IndyCar Series is about to start at.....Laguna Seca Pretty much by far the best North American regular track and IndyCar is back there after 15 years They've got this weird system of double points for the season finale, which is a bit of a shame, but fine. Normally it shouldn't be terribly exciting in terms of the championship fight, Josef Newgarden has a significant advantage, but who knows
  14. So no convicted terrorists at the Paralympics? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebastián_Rodríguez_Veloso
  15. Wasn't Iran one of the countries affected the other time? Like I said, I am dead-sure UK-hosted events had this problem before, including pretty recently, and now that you posted here I am suddenly almost sure Iran was the/a victim there. Taekwondo maybe?
  16. I can't really recall which events, but I'm pretty sure this is a common issue actually...half the time hosts some event that's at least a bit big, there seem to be stories about athletes missing out because of visa troubles.
  17. "Abdel-Kader Zaaf - Drunk Algerian in the Tour de France"
  18. The elite men aren't, I believe?
  19. Ugh, it looks like every single African, apart from the South Africans, has disappeared from the start/entry lists https://www.tissottiming.com/File/000311020A010401FFFFFFFFFFFFFF01 One can only assume they ran into visa troubles, as so often is the case
  20. @bestmen African cycling is popular on the main Dutch forum, use Google Translate and you'll see an entire thread on African cycling with a shitload of information per country https://forum.fok.nl/topic/2517159/
  21. I always like how Rwanda is pretty much only good at one sport and it's paravolley of all things Of course it's rather sad that a genocide is part of the reason for it, but still.
  22. Were they though? I mean, ever since the Americans took over the Israeli baseball team (or at least better Americans?) they have been rising very strongly and I don't think I'm the only one who saw them as a very, very serious threat for the spot Which is all just solely meant at the 'they were the underdogs' kind of thing, not saying it's not cool they had a dream and managed to get there
  23. Anyway, congratulations to the American-Israeli team, good luck for the Caribbean-Dutch team at the other OQT and too bad for the American-Italian team, better luck next time
  24. In general terms they are making it quite easy themselves for people to, let's say, not exactly be a fan of Israel as a whole, but that's entirely beyond this discussion and the thing with nationality
  25. I don't. Just find it weird to think if for example the Netherlands has the same rules and I'd move to Brazil and build a life there, my great-great-great-great-great-greatgrandchildren could automatically become citizens even if there hasn't been any actual connection with the country for generations. But sure, I guess they've got to get people somehow. I wonder how many athletes like this would for example be able to live a life there in terms of mastering the language and stuff like that. Surely to become a citizen of country X, one should at the very least pass some not so easy tests showing one has a decent knowledge of the main language in said country X..
