  1. Or just go back to the good old time when 300km was just an average stage and you'd have to cross 400km to even call it an especially long stage
  2. Stage races where they have a road race and time trial on the same day (as stage Xa and stage Xb) are way too rare in my opinion. I like it.
  3. But we're talking about top athletes, not people who spend more than half their time on online forums like you and me, friend
  4. Nothing wrong with suspending every country that refuses to let their athletes compete against whoever they have to face.
  5. Apeldoorn is in an actual forest instead of some weird thing city folk think is a forest like the Kralingse Bos, so yes
  6. Yeah they could have switched Rotterdam (which as a capacity of around 11.000 instead of 16.000 for the volleyball) and Apeldoorn around, but then again, Apeldoorn is much nicer than Rotterdam so Rotterdam can suck it The numbers aren't entirely correct though, maybe the 2000 for Apeldoorn is when they don't open the velodrome stands. They were opened at the Nation's League this year and last year and there were over 5200 people at the match against Brazil a few months ago. Last year I was there, it definitely wasn't completely full (the velodrome stands were opened) and the counter was at 4600 apparently. Still less than in Rotterdam of course, but not a difference of 14.000
  7. Former Dutch international and Glasgow Rangers icon Fernando Ricksen has died today, aged 43. He had been suffering from ALS/motor neurone disease for over six years and in the end he couldn't do more than communicate via a speech computer. In 2013 on a Dutch talk show he was there to present his book, the host noticed he was talking considerably slower than usual so asked about it, and Ricksen there announced he had been diagnosed with it.
  8. I think three missed doping tests would be a better translation than three failed ones.
  9. @hckosice I genuinely hope you never get bombarded with bull sperm while fighting a fire https://gizmodo.com/mass-explosion-of-bull-semen-after-fire-at-genetics-lab-1838179305
  10. Four groups of three pairs now, with one pair in each group missing out on quarterfinals or something?
  11. I wish there was a 'facepalm reaction button' on Totallympics
  12. I'm surprised there's apparently not some extra criteria they need to fulfill. You know, winning the world title without losing a set or something.
  13. Top-2 of each tournament qualifies, correct?
  14. https://www.iwf.net/scoreboard/scoreboard3.php Now if in exchange you could be so kind to post the print screens...
  15. By whom? Themselves, the winners, the (semi)finalists?
  16. If it was a betting option, I'd place money on Rostami bombing out again, preferrably because of totally unnecessarily heavy opening weight That last sentence is excellent news though, always good when a country has a first like that, even if they're not fighting for medals yet
  17. Live results are usually not a big problem (the bigger issue is finding the results in a timely manner after the session finished and the live results screen moved on to the next session). Stream probably depends on where you are, but quite often pretty soon at least someone has a full recording on YouTube which is where I usually watch it
  18. Am I right Gantz wants a secular government? That'd be by definition a step forward..
  19. A retiring rookie, in the eyes of Davide Rebellin
  20. Yeah, my point was mostly this is really, really not a top level race in terms of participants Not even close. At all.
  21. Robin Haase being Robin Haase today in Sibiu (background).
  22. Netherlands and Algeria in the group, how fun
  23. Pretty much the only rider with some half decent experience (except for good old Samoilau) and still he doesn't win the sprint
  24. What was the thought behind the Paralympic mascot? "Let's find something we can immediately hang up in our Christmas trees?" or what? I swear, we have balls like that in our tree every year.
  25. North Korea just nuked Guam
