  1. 1+3 for Baiba
  2. Let's go Darcie Morton, Baiba Bendika, Anika Kozica and Gaia Brunello
  3. How come there are 2 quotas for TPE and 1 for GBR? And Jesus Brazil, if only they had been like "oh ok, we are on the U23 relay start list, sure, we will actually start and pick up 35 free points". Deep, deep sigh.
  4. Krcmar you absolute boss
  5. The Norwegian biathlon community, that is
  6. Crash for Simon and Magnusson, where Simon lost both poles. French coach only had one spare...then he ran passed a Swedish coach and grabbed his spare out of his hands
  7. Mixed relay in Lenzerheide , let's go!
  8. Still odd that in alpine skiing one can still qualify through random races all over the world. Cross-country's system isn't perfect, but it at least mostly closed that loophole for fixed races after Project Bogota
  9. Thanks! Too bad replays aren't available yet so I'll still miss most, but at least I can watch a few things now
  10. Not scrolling through the thread because I don't want to see results yet, so just gonna ask: is it possible to watch this anywhere (preferably non-live as well)? One would at least expect a basic stream or so on YouTube, but I haven't found anything yet.
  11. New Brazilian Gaia Brunello will also be there, I believe it's been a while since Brazil was represented at the senior world championships.
  12. Yeah the Chiefs scoring as much as they did in the end was without a doubt because the Eagles were just like "whatever, go ahead" When the Eagles were actually trying, Chiefs had no chance at all, not a single moment in which they were 'in' it. Lovely, didn't have a second at all of this Taylor Swift hype nonsense, so that was lovely too.
  13. Well that was fun And nicely practical. Had to be done with watching before 6 due to work, so set my alarm at 4 to start watching. I recorded it, so I could skip the many, many, many moments where nothing happens (always 20 seconds or so in between plays, 2 minutes or something after a drive, etc), finished watching within an hour The half time show helped as well, that was arguably the most boring one I have ever seen (a part of), holy moly. Skipped through a large part of it because every time I checked back in, it was still the same monotonous nothingness and as I was watching from bed, I was at risk of falling asleep if keeping it on for longer than a full minute
  14. Very much looks like something went wrong with Brazil at the start of the U23 relay. I only counted 19 athletes after 1 minute or so instead of 20, they are listed as 'Started' but didn't get through the very first split yet (where the fastest time is 4 minutes, and that was like 5 minutes ago, no way they lost 5 minutes in that time, that's too much even for these standards). That sucks quite badly and is a big blow to Brazil's chances to reach the top-30...come on, all that needed to happen for a nice amount of points was to finish. Dead last, far away, no problem, but...finish.
  15. Anyhow, turns out in the junior relay you're actually not taken out of the race when lapped, well fuck As entirely expected, Brazil's opening man lost some time on Greece's opening man, but as also expected, Brazil's first girl destroyed the first Greek girl. I had expected them to be long lapped by then, which would be excellent, because then Brazil would get a position ahead of Greece and so a few more points. However, apparently everyone goes all the way, and the second Greek guy is likely to put the second Brazilian guy behind...hopefully not too far, because the last Brazilian girl should be better than the last Greek girl. It's a whole thing Not helping Brazil that Lithuania is doing quite well, but the good thing is Lithuania isn't in the U23 relay and Brazil is. Strangely will do so without Manex Silva though, who is by a massive margin their best guy, and could have gotten them a few extra points which Brazil desperately needs in the ranking. Edit: Yeah, here we go with the second guys. Left is at the 2nd exchange, right is at 1.75km in their 5km race.....goodbye.
  16. Including biathlon? They have their IBU Qualifying Points list public, but in their own results system, from which you can't download or even copy anything, so taking away all of the nations that qualify via the nations cup is a manual thing and takes forever.... (instead of if they at least had a CSV format or something, so you could filter those out easily).
  17. With the most amazing looks of disbelief I have ever seen at the finish and even now, like half an hour later I love these kind of surprises, that's what sports is about for me.
  18. DNF for Duda Ribera Which kind of sucks for the thing of Brazil going for a 2nd ticket for the Olympics (well, for now they don't even have 1, but that should be possible in Trondheim...), but is excellent for @brunamoura in her fight against Duda. Although everyone's chance would get bigger if Brazil does end up with the top-30 of course.
  19. Rosie Fordham is genuinely in with a medal chance at the U23 10k freestyle in Schilpario
  20. 7 is just really curious indeed The women are like 90% sure of having 4. It is highly unrealistic for them to drop down, and very unrealistic as well to go up. And even so, if they drop down one 'step', the weird qualifying system in biathlon means they'd go from 4 to, at best, 2. The men still have a tiny chance to go to 4, but not likely. Meaning they'll stay with maximum 2 athletes (good chance it will be 2, but it might become 1 if things go bad). I don't even see how any of these combinations can end up with 7 athletes Most likely: 4 women, 2 men = 6 Somewhat unlikely, but not impossible: 4 women, 1 man = 5 Very unlikely: 4 women, 0 men = 4 Even more unlikely: 2 women, 0-2 men = 2-4 I don't get how to get to 7
  21. Today was my time slot, so some more tickets bought... Two for the biathlon women's sprint for @brunamoura's parents, so we'll be there with our full group of 8 Two for the biathlon women's mass start and two for the cross-country women's 50k mass start, both for @brunamoura and myself. If she suddenly qualifies to compete in the 50k, we'll see what to do with that spare ticket
  22. I'd love to, but logistically it is going to be such a difficult thing They somehow put 'the most geographically widespread Olympics ever!' as a positive marketing thing, but it's just really annoying for fans....we're going to look for an accomodation between Tesero and Antholz (I'd say around Bolzano or one of those lovely towns around it) and the ice hockey is like 3+ hours drive away.. Maybe for France 2030, but for Cortina I hope my priority in terms of what to watch is rather obvious
  23. Ticket sales started today for those who registered, we have our tickets Cross-country skiing: men and women's sprint qualifying and finals (we went for the qualifying but finals are included on the same ticket so that's awesome!), women's 10k freestyle and the team sprint (again, qualifying and finals) And the biathlon women's sprint. And that filled up our 25 tickets
  24. Which also means that today the first groups of people have received the emails with their timeslots in which they can buy tickets. I haven't yet, my dad did and can buy from tomorrow on (for 48 hours). Still thinking exactly about what to buy, but I think we're going for the 10k freestyle, classic sprint and team sprint (women's cross-country, obviously). In an ideal situation that'd be tickets for both my parents, both Bruna's parents, my sister*, Bruna's employer and his wife and myself, I'm glad XC isn't as expensive as speed skating or ice hockey * And of course we want tickets for biathlon, at least 1 women's event, to cheer for our/Bruna's friends ( Baiba Bendika and Darcie Morton being far and away the biggest ones there)
