  1. That would be an odd choice...both are out of the host country, if you're going for that anyway than better just choose the most known and 'classic' venue I'd say (so either Heerenveen or Hamar, but going to Norway would be even worse in terms of distance of course). Or better, Collalbo, but that's what they should have done for this year (without the roof, obviously, don't destroy a track like that by building a roof).
  2. Opening ceremony was succesful by the way
  3. I know Heerenveen is sadly likely to be part of it, but I suppose you mean also without that it's going to be spread around crazily...
  4. French Alps is likely to be just as spread around?
  5. Some fake fans did, indeed. Whatever one's opinion on the country, just don't cheer if you don't like it, don't be pathetic and boo the athletes.
  6. It's unbelievable. They do maintenance on, like, nothing at all, and then the one thing they should actually keep in place instead of renew, they destroy
  7. Overall, I think the show was quite nice. Nothing really outstanding, besides Andrea Bocelli, but...nice. Just for the love of everything that is sports, let's never, ever do this "opening ceremony in multiple places" thing again, please. That absolutely didn't work, they were cutting away all the time so everyone got barely shown. Plus, you're taking us from inside the massive stadium with 80.000 people or so back and forth to 3 people walking in front of the local town hall of a small village with some locals attending while walking their dogs before going to sleep, so to say. Just don't do that again please.
  8. Can't really put into words how bizarre and amazing this was to see I mean, I've been a massive sports fan since I was a child, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I might end up having a family with an actual Olympic flag bearer
  9. In a sportsmanship kind of sense I have my doubts when one pays off a bunch of actually qualifying-level athletes to purposely go slow in a race you organized just so you and your friends can gain the easy points to qualify. It's really good that scenario isn't possible anymore in cross-country skiing.
  10. Pita act. Ugh. Good thing FIS made it kind of impossible to still buy an Olympic ticket at least in cross-country skiing.
  11. I heard, it's such a shame athletes there won't get to see the flame being lit
  12. Duuudes, no, don't take the flame out of San Siro
  13. Surely they could have found someone who pronounces English....well? Or at least better?
  14. I think @brunamoura is still enjoying herself somewhat.
  15. This split parade does not work, at all.
  16. Whoah. Guys, I promise you, tonight you'll see a little surprise when Brazil enters and I guarantee you'll cheer for Lucas Braathen afterwards if you know it was his idea!
  17. Always mixed feelings about this: the event of alpine skiing, fantastic to start with that, but also the rest feels a bit 'meh' if the King of Events has already gone But yeah looking forward beyond words to the downhill
  18. Unfortunately this Moncler thing (the clothing sponsor for Brazil tonight) doesn't let her enter the stadium with the balloon she had wanted for years (very long story very short, but it's basically her symbol for never giving up even when things get beyond tough, although the fact that she has orange balloons with her of course are also a small tribute towards ) She'll make some nice photos at the Olympic rings with it then, later on.
  19. I think Weidemann will need to be way over her best to really have a shot, but who knows. If she is, the matchup is certainly interesting: Beune with kamikaze tactics and hoping she can hold on (and if she does, she's a major threat for gold), Weidemann probably being far behind halfway in but undoubtedly with a stronger finish.
  20. Merel Conijn in pair 1 Ouch. Not many major battles it seems like, but if Groenewoud is at her peak now, her race against Wiklund is going to be, as the youth says, fire
  21. Little over three hours to go! Brazil will be represented in Milan by Lucas Braathen, @brunamoura and chef de mission Emilio Strapasson. Nicole Silveira will be in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
  22. Bruna met Lucas Braathen today in the preparations for their opening ceremony tonight, I was kind of afraid about what kind of person he would be in real life because, you know, so many athletes are totally different in real life....but apparently he is genuinely super nice and friendly, and his enthusiasm you see on social media is absolutely real, he came across as super excited to have a cool show for Brazil Happy to know, now I'll cheer for him
