  1. Nice Speech Powered by Enel, TCL, Corona and Samsung.
  2. I'm gonna read up on that later. Don't wanna spoil my Olympic feelings yet
  3. Mostly the top nations, yes, but in biathlon in this case I believe there wasn't even a choice. Like, it was all just entirely spread. With La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, I hope at least biathlon and the Nordic sports will be together next time...
  4. I really, really don't mind about sports being added, my only fear is sports being taken away (and the ones I wouldn't mind, are probably not on the chopping block)
  5. Oh wow, that would be such absolute bullshit But I'll keep hopes up, I feel like this has been mentioned every 4 years and it luckily never really materializes.
  6. I do hope France manages to make it feel more 'Olympic' for the athletes. Like, don't let the athletes of many sports feel like it is just a regular World Cup by putting them in some hotel or appartment (or like in biathlon, all countries just spread apart in the entire wide area), make it feel...you know, Olympic, please. The 'Olympic village vibe' is one of the things athletes look forward to, don't deny them that.
  7. This part managed to take away the festive spirit quite well...
  8. No He was the only one actively approaching athletes to talk about why he wanted to be in the commission, or at least the only one she noticed doing so.
  9. Hmm, a lot leave, yes, but also a lot push towards the area where the podium is. Like in Tesero it was insane how tighly-packed the left part of the grandstands became, same for Antholz (although that was already insane during the races). But for me, the main thing is not so much for the fans, but for the athletes: it's awesome to have the medals awarded when the emotions are still all the way there. Don't give it hours (or sometimes even a whole day) to let things settle down, let a surprise winner step on the podium with the disbelief still being there fully and so on.
  10. Now the announcement for the athletes commission. Bruna voted for Won (and the Hungarian cross-country skier Adam Konya). Won won!
  11. Nice to see Norway still managed to score something at the very end
  12. It isn't the only thing of course, but I have no doubt it helps to be able to actually do something besides just sports. It can make the 'black hole' somewhat smaller at least, even if it doesn't take it away entirely.
  13. Exactly! Plus it's awesome if you're at the event. You and everyone around you witnessed it, you should see and hear the athletes you saw fighting be awarded.
  14. Commentators talking about the fantastic lack of a Medal Plaza. I sadly saw for Utah 2034 there's already a location for that nonsense, for France there isn't....does that mean one can hope we will have the emotional and adrenaline-filled ceremonies also for France 2030? I saw the 'venue ceremony' for the 50k classic today, fine that it was like that today, but if all of them are like that...ugh, just "First place...*name*!"
  15. That's the danger of having nothing besides sports in your life. Every young athlete needs to be made clear how important it is to at least finish a basic bit of education or something. Sure, Bruna does nothing with her diploma in her job, but...she has a regular job, and with winter being more or less over, she's gonna have a lot to do and I do think that will help avoiding Olympic Blues.
  16. That'd be awesome! I swear we'll actually meet that time then From what I saw when taking a quick look, it looks like Falun might logistically be better than the shitshow that was Trondheim...
  17. Kind of literally having to see what we're going to do with our lives now after these past years of almost non-stop stress and pressure and decisions Who knows if Falun 2027 will be possible...
  18. Those images of the opening ceremony, it felt like barely one and a half day ago
  19. I need help, who is this....Norwegian? On another forum they said Huw Nightingale, looks like it, no?
  20. Italian anthem is depressed due to the Olympics being over.
  21. Haven't seen everything yet by a long shot but besides the obvious (Bruna's participation), seeing Baiba Bendika lead the relay halfway nearly brought a tear to my eyes, that was astonishing and certainly one of my highlights. Also Sophia Velicer's performances, Rosie Fordham being celebrated when finishing the 50k and the Dutch men's shorttrack relay team.
