  1. Andorra, Taiwan and Armenia were the 3 women's quota we knew would be rejected. Doesn't look like a significant amount of others will be.
  2. Not sure what the place is to make sure most interested people see it, so I'll do it here: at 14:00 CET the Brazilian Snow Sports Federation will announce their athletes for the Winter Olympics and it's basically safe to say that our own Totallympian @brunamoura will be part of said announcement after how the weekend went It will presumably be a live thing on their Instagram, @brasilnaneve.
  3. I am confused about how the qualifying works for the non-qualified nations (so the top-12 individual athletes). Wikipedia keeps a ranking of them since IBU themselves doesn't, and usually on Wiki these things are quite correct. However, things have been moving around so weirdly in the past few weeks. Like Gaia Brunello and Darcie Morton have been moving in and out of the top-12 with Gaia's points remaining the same, but Darcie's points going from 90 something to 120 something and back....and now she is in again and Gaia is out again. So apparently one can actually also lose points?
  4. Meanwhile using the break to say I am mostly absent here this time, unlike usually, but for good reason: besides being busy with Bruna's races and so on, it seems like - and that still is a big 'seems like', it is not yet official - her opponent in the fight for the Olympic cross-country skiing ticket has thrown in the towel, won't race tomorrow (the last day of qualifying) and with that.....it would be our very own (and my very own ) Bruna who qualifies for the Olympics As most here probably know, she qualified for Beijing, but had a bad car accident on the way in which the driver died and she had to be airlifted to the hospital. An accident that happened not 100km from where the Olympics will be next month... Again, nothing official yet and out of caution I haven't really shared much about it in the past months here, but I did want to take the moment to mention this carefully good news on a day that is always already so positive - TISC Grand Final Day
  5. Much like me often giving points to Germany or English-speaking nations: I simply, generally speaking, can enjoy songs more when I can understand at least some of the lyrics
  6. NETHERLANDS Ireland 12 Germany 11 France 10 Italy 9 Romania 8 Mexico 7 Brazil 6 Kazakhstan 5 Spain 4 Sweden 3 Indonesia 2 Great Britain 1
  7. NETHERLANDS Germany 11 France 10 Italy 9 Romania 8 Mexico 7 Brazil 6 Kazakhstan 5 Spain 4 Sweden 3 Indonesia 2 Great Britain 1
  8. NETHERLANDS Benvenuti a tutti dalla splendida Falcade, nelle Dolomiti italiane! Ecco i voti della giuria olandese. Welcome everyone from beautiful Falcade, in the Italian Dolomites! Here are the Dutch jury's scores. France 10 Italy 9 Romania 8 Mexico 7 Brazil 6 Kazakhstan 5 Spain 4 Sweden 3 Indonesia 2 Great Britain 1
  9. @OlympicIRL We're going to the meeting now, but if like yesterday it starts late, I might be able to post it (just the layout/design will not look great I noticed in a quick test, but alright)
  10. I heard this during the FESA Cup cross-country in Seefeld last weekend, I was somewhat surprised to hear that being blased out of the speakers And today in Falcade I heard Cuoricini being played across the tracks, wasn't expecting to hear two TAISC songs 'in the wild' within a week
  11. @OlympicIRL Small chance I can post my votes, but I would say it is unlikely as the team captain's meeting for the cross-country skiing Coppa Italia in Falcade starts at exactly the same time my voting window opens I will see if it works on my phone, so give me a few minutes before you post mine, but since I hate messing with things on my phone it will be without a Dutch greeting if it works
  12. Right, that clears things up a bit more, thanks. I just don't have much against her, but from a personal point of view her not being allowed would be one more quota towards the reallocation and I'd be fine with that I suppose I hope there's nothing shady towards speed skater Marina Zueva?
  13. Might give that a try tomorrow, thanks! I might also just keep with live-timing only, that is nerve-wracking enough.
  14. Oh trust me, I know. Heart attack city here today (which we seem to have survived) and tomorrow due to this. Which our fellow Totallympian - in the last week of Olympic qualifying - doesn't yet know and I am very much trying to keep it that way until after tomorrow's race.
  15. I wonder if there are more details to this, like whether or not she was part of some (national?) team, if she herself privately decided to go there, and so on.
  16. Too bad, geoblocked. Langrenn - NRK TV Would have liked to watch the women's qualifying.
  17. Are there more details on this, other than just "she visited it"? As in, was that part of a certain team, was it a private decision to go there, and so on? Those may be important nuances, especially for young athletes.
  18. I am so confused at the whole thing Can someone give a short summary of what is the actual issue, and what would have happened (as in, who would have qualified) if those Canadians who withdrew did start?
  19. Let's not act as if these things never happen before. Serbia's cross-country skiing drama a week before the Olympic qualifying for Beijing ended: FIS | Cross-Country Results - Zlatibor (SRB) 2021/2022 Drndic with a DNF, despite being - on paper at least - the best athlete. She didn't just 'not finish', she stepped out barely 50 meters before the finish, because if finishing, the points for her competitor would have been better due to the way points are calculated. Ended up with lots and lots of yelling and screaming and fighting and cursing, DNS the next day and in the end Serbia sent none of them. This is not a shit move by Canada, this is a fault of the system at most.
  20. Those are the national junior championships, national championships are in Steinkjer, starting tomorrow: FIS | Steinkjer (NOR) - Event Details - Cross-Country
  21. Nice for them, but also kind of too bad they pick the exact same two as last time. Would have been nice to see Regina Martinez for example (although I'm not sure that would have been logistically possible, depending on how they're going to do the flag bearer thing in the first place).
  22. Queen Diggins I can hardly imagine there are many athletes who are both harder working and friendlier than her. Absolute pinnacle of sports.
