  1. It's way, way too early to judge. I'm guessing IOC might lose patience, but if they're being fair, they wait at least until 2024.
  2. Seriously? I must admit I never heard of him even though I do watch quite some golf during the year...
  3. Though to be fair, I don't think people will say "OMG, Branden Grace won't go to Rio!"... And about McDowell, it seems as though he was already long clear that he didn't want to leave home at the time his wife might be giving birth
  4. Nope, I liked the World Cup in Brazil, I liked the World Cup in South Africa I would definitely like a World Cup in the USA, Japan, Australia or whatever
  5. Have you seen the fight?
  6. Yeah, like people are happy about Qatar
  7. Absolutely not! If I get a son, I shall name him Ascho Aschengeschvantner mylastname
  8. 43rd place in the 100m fly heats
  9. Miroslav Ascho Aschengeschvantner, now that is one hell of a name
  10. Where in Italy is all this stuff happening? And do you happen to have some links?
  11. Completely missed that, but that's fantastic! And it comes to show that she was lucky that they found the cancer so early (unlike one of our top speed skaters..).
  12. I don't remember where, but I read somewhere someone saying a piece I absolutely agree with: "I hope she'll absolutely shatter the WR in Rio and why not, take down the 1500m record as well. People sometimes need to be hit between their eyes to be able to see the obvious, which in this case is that something needs to change." Also I really don't like the situation that will absolutely happen during the Olympics: people will start blaming her and accusing her of being a dirty cheat and everything. And for what? For being born different? That's just not fair... Regulations should for sure be in place, but it's just not right to blame the athlete herself.
  13. Well for sure he can't stop us from doing this, all that could happen is Wanderer and you refusing to help which would of course be a shame for the loss of knowledge Besides, if someone wants to cheat, they'll do it anyway and look at the bookmakers I guess.
  14. That's the worst reason ever not to help out with this
  15. People, hold on to your hats. Caster Semenya has just won the African 1500m title....in 4:01.99, a 6 second PB.
  16. Whoops To be fair, I did already suggest it months ago when people were laughing about the VMT predictions
  17. How much do you think the final result of the French (#1 or #2) would influence the chances for the Olympic gold medal? As in, is there a big difference between the two sides of the draw?
  18. And in the same race: Hassan Taftian posted 10.04 NR
  19. I only read this after last week's show, but apparently this was only the second time ever (!) that Bruce Springsteen played Jersey Girl outside of the US Absolutely thrilling to have been part of that piece of Springsteen history by being at the show: By the way, there was a girl behind me (I'd say around 20 years with what could be either her partner or her father) and she was crying so incredibly much as soon as this song started! She was screaming for Bruce to play this song and she nearly died when he showed the sign saying "Jersey Girl" I can't stop wondering why she was crying so much, it looked as if it reminded her of someone close who very recently died or something..
  20. I'm fairly sure leave would win here in the Netherlands.
  21. Hello As most of you know, many people are usually mostly laughing about sites and people who try and come up with predicted medal tables for the Olympics (such as the Infostrada/Gracenote Virtual Medal Table). If there's so much negative response to those kind of things, surely there must be confidence that we can do better without statistical analysis, but with our combined knowledge of the Olympic sports? I mean, there's no way we're all going to agree on the same things, but looking at the vast amount of knowledge on here about basically every sport, surely we can come up with predictions at least a majority can agree on? I'm not entirely sure how to exactly complete a total medal table, but we gotta start somewhere. One suggestion might be that you post some predictions on events you think you know enough about, including some in your opinion top favourites, lesser favourites, outsiders and some who would need a huge upset in order to medal. Since we're making a medal table and not individual predictions, it might be useful to note them down as nations instead of individual athletes. An example might be the following, in which I'm pretending to know a whole lot about the women's discus throw. Five stars is the maximum and is for the top favourites, whereas one star suggests a medal is not impossible, but not very likely (let's say a 5-10% medal chance): Athletics - Women's discus throw: * * * * * Croatia (Perkovic), Cuba (Perez & Caballero) * * * Germany (Fischer & Müller), Australia (Samuels) * * China (Su, Feng), France (Robert-Michon) * USA (Ashley, Card), Great Britain (Lally) Obviously more than one person is welcome to post predictions for the same event, which I could combine into a "total Totallympics prediction". Horrible idea? Best idea ever? Suggestions?
  22. Idiots here in the Netherlands are already calling for "Nexit" Dear Lord, let's just wait at least 3-4 years to see the actual consequences for the UK, because everything is mostly speculation so far. I seriously hope our politics won't make these stupid emotionally based decisions and simply stays patient for a couple of years. If not, a "Nexit" referendum would only be won by people who can not think much more than "Hur dur all muslims are terrorists close the borders OMG!!!" and that's not exactly good.
  23. "A new independence referendum is now highly likely", according to the Scottish first minister It'd be awesome to have Flower of Scotland in all sports events, that would immediatly become one of the top-5 anthems in my list
  24. They probably think "referendum" is a thing you can eat or set on fire or something
  25. I think he was already clear the 400 IM wouldn't be on his program ever again after London
