  1. Now that you mention it, of course Valya being "gone" for a while could open up the way for Merkushina to start being a full member of the World Cup team? That would be very interesting, she definitely deserves it!
  2. Well alright, let's rephrase that: I think we are the main (but not only) candidate for the bronze medal
  3. Cycling - Men's BMX * * * * France (Daudet, Mir, Rencurel, André), Netherlands (Kimmann, Van Gorkom, Van Gendt) * * * USA (Long, Sharrah, Fields), Latvia (Strombergs, Treimanis), Great Britain (Philips, Evans), Switzerland (Graf, Blanc) * * Colombia (Ramirez Yepes, Oquendo), Australia (Willoughby), Canada (Nyhaug) * Argentina (Torres), Brazil (Rezende), Ecuador (Campo) Hard one, but basically I don't think there is one country that deserves five stars here. Cycling - Women's BMX * * * * * Colombia (Pajon), Australia (Buchanan, Reynolds) * * * * USA (Post, Crain), Netherlands (Smulders, Van Benthem) * * * Denmark (Christensen), Belgium (Vanhoof), France (Pottier, Etienne), Venezuela (Hernandez) * * Argentina (Diaz), Russia (Bondarenko)
  4. I still really doubt Kromo will win a medal in the 100 But yeah still two medals possible then: one of the major outsiders in the 50 and the Netherlands is a good candidate for bronze in the 4x100.
  5. I think I've said my opinion a million times by now right? Not a big fan of Kromowidjojo and her attitude of always skipping all kinds of competitions in the "not important" years On the other hand: FEMKE (as long as she loses the "demons inside her head", to quote her literally, and she stops choking in the important individual moments..)
  6. 58.19, but fear not, she already posted 57.68 last year in a competition that actually counted
  7. I think those that have a history of competing and training outside Russia and being tested by other anti-doping authorities have a chance to compete. I'm with dareza's prediction: max 10.
  8. By the way, will it be a monster biathlon baby like the Domracheva/OEB-child? Or does she have a non-athlete husband/partner?
  9. Not the best timing though, her getting pregnant might cost Ukraine some places at the Olympics
  10. Ivan Babikov (CAN) has announced his retirement: http://www.fis-ski.com/cross-country/news-multimedia/news/article=ivan-babikov-retires.html
  11. Can a mod wake up and close the bitchfight going on in this thread?
  12. Meanwhile Broeckx is still in the hospital and still hasn't woken up. They're reducing the sleep-inducing medication, but he's not responsing to sound or touch. So far they're describing his current state as a "vegetative coma" and since he has suffered very severe brain damage, it's doubtful he'll actually wake up..
  13. Vianello will go to Rio
  14. Gardiner vs Vianello now, straight +91kg final for one Olympic spot. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4fe0s8_aiba-2016-world-qualification-event_sport
  15. So Guatemala got screwed because Erdenebat of Mongolia had to retire after the first round
  16. Is the bad hammer throw news ever going to stop? Although this is a "better" kind of bad news, it's still sad
  17. If they're in so great shape now, will it really be a surprise if they medal in Rio?
  18. And the bad thing about this shit is that you can't even blame the boxers who withdraw. I'd probably do the same..
  19. The motorcycling: logical. Replay of snooker instead of live canoeing: Aah damn you ES2
  20. On our Eurosport there's live Moto3/2/GP as always and Eurosport 2 has a replay of snooker
  21. I was waiting for her result today, great news!
  22. I don't know, it's not like it's so incredibly uncommon for athletes to miss a big competition because of this kind of reason.
  23. That is some of the worst athletics news of the year, and we already had a lot of bad news...unbelievable At least Talay's result is good
