Qualification Tracker

Test

  1. The FIS qualification table is quite slow to be updated, also after Israel's man qualified it took a little bit of time. She certainly got it without problems, so they should be added soon.
  2. Unless I'm massively mistaken, Brazil needs 16 women's quota places being refused by other countries in order to get a 3rd ticket. Yeah, that ain't gonna happen That does unfortunately already include the 3 quota places that will most likely be automatically refused due to Taiwan, Andorra and Armenia having 2 spots but only 1 eligible athlete. So 16 refusals besides those 3. Somewhat annoying Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Bosnia and Macedonia sneaked in last minute (as a sports lover, I like it of course, but yeah), but even without some of those it would still have been a stretch I think. We need boycotts
  3. Says more about Savart being an excellent skier, to be honest.
  4. , and are indeed well on their way to a women's Olympic ticket. looking very likely too.
  5. Plus there's a athlete who didn't compete today, but will compete tomorrow.... Another place gone
  6. She will almost certainly make it tomorrow, but as for today Cvetanovska missed Olympic qualification by 0,29 seconds in the sprint in Davos. But, again, tomorrow in the 10k it is a lot easier to score good points and she will almost certainly make it. (or whatever icon is used) made it easily, as expected, and will likely be added tomorrow as well. Tiny chance for , who knows. For her I hope so of course, personally every country that doesn't make it is a win, but yeah.
  7. There will basically be just as many opening ceremonies as Olympic 'villages'/hotels.
  8. Damn it, besides 1 Russian also , and are very likely to get a women's quota tomorrow or Sunday...nice for them, very unfortunate for us.
  9. Ah ok, that's good. Do you happen to know if Russians and Belarussians are counted as the same, or are they - as in some sports - two separate sets of individual athletes (and therefore, in this case, two 'NOCs')?
  10. Just to update: I've certainly listened to everything more than once, just need to find a moment to rank them, but that should be fine
  11. Don't count on anything too amazing, since there won't be one single opening ceremony, but 4-5 that TV will kind of combine into one thing There's not going to be a singular event where all/most athletes of a nation are going to be presented in some way. Everyone stays on their own 'island', these are kind of the Olympics of disconnection.
  12. Hmm, it's been updated by now: 4 men, 3 women in terms of cross-country skiing, unfortunately. I wonder how it works with multiple athletes from one NOC gaining a quota spot in that top-10 in the World Cup route. I mean, that route is only open to nations who have 0 quota places, surely it would be rather weird if that way an NOC can get multiple? Theoretically that would mean that it would have been better for an NOC to make sure they have no quota yet (if their only option at the time was 1), so they could get 2 now. Edit: my bad, 1 man, 3 women. The other 3 men are support personnel. Wish it was the other way around
  13. Wouldn't be surprised to see the same this time. The men's 500m has basically on or with luck two medal chances, but certainly not three (semi-realistic) ones. With Beau Snellink for now not exactly on his way to an Olympic ticket and Patrick Roest still questionable, that might only leave Chris Huizinga, Jorrit Bergsma and Marcel Bosker, and that is not exactly a group one would want to have in the team pursuit.
  14. Gonna be interesting Olympic qualifiers again in the Netherlands. Only 9 spots available per gender, we'll have 5 days of anxiously filling in the 'matrix' table As almost every speed skater says, more intense than the Olympics itself and every skater absolutely hates it, Fun for people to watch though. I do think they should have made some rule like 'if you win three World Cups in a single distance before the OQT, you get a spot', but they didn't and obviously you can't just add that now.
  15. Whatever the rules and qualifying procedures, if you're skating 6:57 at sea level, you so much deserve to be in the Olympics...hopefully she makes it.
  16. Yep, , and made it today! came closer than I expected in the women's race, one chance left next week. It's kind of mixed: obviously I wish her the best and hope she does well, but also, every quota that is not gained by a nation is Brazil being one spot closer in the already near-impossible road towards a potential 3rd ticket, which I would selfishly welcome above everything else in terms of nations qualifying because that would take away such an infinite amount of stress
  17. I only kinda know Wayne Gretzky by name, don't think I ever heard or saw him really do anything, but man, for someone called 'The Great One' that sure was an underwhelming performance by him Pronounced half the countries like he had never even heard of them (which I assume is correct), and made it seem as though reading a card with a grand total of 4 countries on it was super difficult. Shaquille O'Neal and Aaron Judge at least clearly practiced the names in their pot. The full 'Islamic Republic of Iran' by Shaq for example, I feel like Gretzky would just have said 'I R Iran' and thought the I and R were a typo.
  18. This is such an annoying thing at events like this. Like that guy who came on the podium with a speech in Spanish. I mean, no blame at all if you don't speak English, there's no real shame in that and that's fine, but if you don't....then don't go on a global stage and give a speech even if you're asked to, unless someone is there translating sentence by sentence.
  19. I guess there's some ice hockey or baseball thing going on or some weird overseas thing like that.
  20. Andrea Bocelli is lucky, he doesn't need to watch this.
  21. Well this was the most cringey speech humanity has ever seen.
  22. Draw starts around 19.00 CET, commentator here said.
  23. And there's the biggest criminal in FIFA history "Simply the greatest event the world, humanity has ever seen and will ever see." Hahaha, he is talking Trump's language
  24. Scratch Curacao, just realized Turkey is also an option, oh dear Lord
  25. I want maximum controversy or Let's go
