  1. Ying Qu, my favourite of all Chinese, started clean
  2. Aaaaaaand DQ I wonder what they did, since simply being lapped isn't normally mentioned as DSQ
  3. Klaebo and Sundling mostly, yes. Judging by the way they finished on Alpe Cermis, that's understandable I'm happy most of the top sprinters are there, so we're definitely not getting a devalued competition, that'd be exaggerating.
  4. Sundling didn't compete today. Lampic, Falla, Svahn, Caldwell and Fähndrich, among others, did, and those are definitely in the top of the sprinting world (which is the only thing Dresden is about). Who is and isn't there of the overall top-10 isn't very important, most top sprinters are there - a few aren't - and that's what matters.
  5. Most top women seem to be there though, considering it's a sprint. One can't expect Johaug to be there of course
  6. Looking straight into the rifle isn't the best idea, is it, @brunamoura? I nearly got a heart attack when I saw her do that in Arber two seasons ago.
  7. The most common ways have to do with the shooting. For example going out on the loop with a bullet still in your rifle. One could also seriously hinder another competitor, go out on the course with a rifle that's not properly marked by officials beforehand or firing more than five rounds in one shooting bout in an individial, mass start, pursuit or sprint - that last happened to Taynara in her debut race, where she thought she could use spare munitions Page 85 for more examples. https://res.cloudinary.com/deltatre-spa-ibu/image/upload/p2ebk3rka5c0pygc5jr2.pdf
  8. I remember a certain German who made her top-level debut in the World Championships relay and brought Germany from 8th to 1st in said debut race
  9. And those dumb musical intermezzos, ugh. "My block, my block!" With specific hand movements that are supposed to be done with specific actions on the field. Paper clappers at least are better than those insanely annoying plastic blow-up things that explode rather loudly when people think it's fun to step on them, but yeah.
  10. I'd be fine if mixed NOC teams were an option to increase field sizes in 'team' events, so nations with not enough athletes for a full team could have their athletes work together in a mixed NOC team. It's the Youth Olympics after all, some sense of development - both on athletic and personal level - is not a bad thing. Full mixed NOC events are not my thing though, no.
  11. That entirely depends on how it happened. From a legal point of view, there are huge differences between mistakes (disastrous as they may be) and intentional actions. It is a war crime if Rouhani went and said "There's a civilian passenger plane, shoot it down."
  12. At least that confession took shorter than expected..
  13. Amadeo Bagnis. Italy might have a slightly smaller advantage compared to South Korea and China, because I'm guessing an Italian track is going to be used for more international competitions than those two, but still. Bagnis is on fire lately, very impressive 11th in his World Cup debut and yesterday he won his second consecutive Europe Cup race. Plus he's still really young.
  14. And there's Geng Wenqiang's first ever podium, tied with Yun for 3rd.

  16. That has never been a problem, at all...until ISU started adding bullcrap like the team sprint. Just took a random world single distance championships of the past two decades: Day 1: Men's 500m, both runs Men's 5000m Women's 1500m Day 2: Men's 1500m Women's 500m, both runs Women's 3000m Day 3: Men's 1000m Men's 10.000m Women's 1000m Women's 5000m No problem at all, not a single day had a serious risk of any athletes getting in trouble.
  17. [No] #22 Will Switzerland win more than one medal in the Alpine Combined events? [Yes] #23 How many missed shots will the winner of the women's Biathlon Individual have? (step - 1) [1] #24 What will be the points difference between the leader and the host country's representative in women's Figure Skating Singles after Short Programme? (step - 0,75) [25] #25 Which team will have the best Last Stone Draw result (sum of both rotations) in the fourth session of curling? [Norway] [/hide]
  18. No doubt about that, much like in speed skating where the tracks that are the best to watch are the rare outdoor tracks. I just very much like the whole layout though, roof or not.
  19. If the Youth Olympics is the example to go by, every sport is doomed.
  20. Well yeah, basically nobody gives a fuck about it and that's in a sport where basically nobody gives a fuck about The Dutch men decided not to start, because of the ridiculous scheduling, right after the 1500m. Obviously the solution is simple: get rid of the team sprint bullshit. ISU's more likely solution: let's get rid of the 1500m.
  21. Historic medal for Switzerland. Too bad it's in the biggest nonsense of speed skating.
  22. Watching today's competitions in La Plagne, where they're back after quite some years. I don't remember seeing this track before but I love it It's so....smooth, big, fast, awesome!
