  1. Damn, little bunch of rule-breakers in Kazakhstan past weekend https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=39470 Women's race also had three not following the marked course. Makes you wonder whether the course was actually marked well.
  2. It is a sort of 'joke' song of course, since the story is meant to be fun and nothing serious at all. It is considered a valuable one in terms of Dutch language though, since Drs. P is absolutely majestic when it comes to playing with words. Then again, without being a (preferably native) Dutch speaker, that part is obviously hard to understand About Kensington: this week, their singer has announced he is going to retire from the band
  3. No worries, I'm assuming everyone understands the actual important things in life (like work) are priority and when duty calls, one can hardly say "Nah screw your issues, I'm posting music votes".
  4. Same here. And really not because it's anything against Sweden or even this artist or song (I like the song actually), but come on, it's a worldwide super mega hit Which is no guarantee, I know.
  5. Basically similar to last year's Christmas lockdown The negatives: one now needs QR codes even to go buy clothes or a toy or something Luckily a certain Brazilian Totallympian has been officially registered at city hall this week and will get her social security number soon, without which one can't even get a valid EU QR code. Basically without her social security number, she'd need to be tested simply to go buy a book or something (she is of course fully vaccinated, but that can only be registered once you have...a Dutch social security number ) For me, all the negative parts are in some way related to this and her travels and such. The positives: face masks are back in supermarkets, meaning semi-anonymous grocery shopping is back And more restrictions in cinemas are back, but they will remain open, which means....just like last year we can go to a movie with plenty of empty seats around us on all sides and non popcorn chewing and chips back grabbing people next to us, fantastic And working from home as strong advice will remain (and after all this, working at home for a majority of the time will remain the norm in my workplace anyway) How about the land of the Tatras?
  6. I played a few songs while cooking last week and the Brazilian song got zero reaction, so I think that'll be fine
That's it for the votes of the Dutch jury. We hope everyone is enjoying a nice and music-filled day! Lastly, we'd like to thank our Israeli friends for hosting what is undoubtedly going to be another wonderful edition of TISC!
  8. This part had so much shuffling around all the time Songs went from 2nd to 10th and back again and everything in between.... The Netherlands Ireland 11 Denmark 10 New Zealand 9 Germany 8 Czech Republic 7 Italy 6 Mexico 5 Portugal 4 Ukraine 3 Canada 2 Spain 1
  9. The Netherlands Goedemorgen vrienden van Totallympics! Het is de mooiste tijd van het jaar, tijd voor TISC! Namens de Nederlandse delegatie wens ik iedereen een hele fijne dag, maar eerst zijn hier de Nederlandse stemmen: Good morning Totallympic friends! It's the most beautiful time of the year, TISC time! On behalf of the Dutch delegation I'd like to wish everyone a wonderful day, but first we have the Dutch votes: Denmark 10 New Zealand 9 Germany 8 Czech Republic 7 Italy 6 Mexico 5 Portugal 4 Ukraine 3 Canada 2 Spain 1
  10. It seems thatt things are getting a bit more realistic for now that the World Cup is getting closer, but still quite alright. https://www.ibsf.org/en/component/events/event/502059
  11. You don't need any followers or something to simply be able to stay in touch with the people back home
  12. It's not really news, but I had no idea where else to ask it, so here we go. Is there any news on whether or not China will allow the thousands of athletes to use their regular social media in the Olympic village or something? On one hand I can imagine there being some relaxation of rules for such a huge and incredibly international event, on the other hand it's China, so it's hard to get a sense on it... @Vic Liu Have you heard anything about this by any chance? In my case it's of course mostly about how to stay in touch with @brunamoura if she qualifies, since she'll be there for three weeks or so in that case. We generally use WhatsApp, but yeah....
  13. This is the farce that is the mass start: half the time nobody, including the riders, has a clue what the fuck is happening. Not even the clear winner knew he'd won until a while after the finish. The riders don't know what's going on. The referees have no clue what to do and don't even follow their own rules (it was specifically stated that any rider who is lapped, will be out of the race from that moment on...Japanese dude lapped half the field and nobody was pulled out). Commentators barely follow what's happening. But it's hip and urban version of the marathon, for sprinters, so it's Olympic. Because short.
  14. Well if I knew that I wouldn't have gone with a Dutch language entry No I would, because I just wanted to share a song I really enjoy even though I'm fairly confident understanding Dutch is a large prerequisite to enjoy it
  15. Anything that fits the host is fine with me, although since it's Sunday tomorrow, I'm not sure how much attention I'll be able to pay...
