  1. Aaaaaaand that's today's Lake Louise super-G down the drain as well Jesus can we get some speed events in please?
  2. Australia's Darcie Morton made her World Cup debut yesterday, but it ended up sort of dramatically disappointing. She fell and her rifle split (in length, even, not the side), so besides yesterday's DNF, she couldn't start today since that was her only rifle. I can only assume she was never given a second rifle because reasons (other than 'not enough money', because that's just not an issue), so that's sad....I had hoped for a nice debut.
  3. Which kinda sucked for Kristjan Ilves (as main guy for whom it sucked), since he got DQ'ed there and so couldn't start at all today. Impressive win once again for Riiber, basically destroyed Lamparter in the deciding sprint.
  4. Kind of like Chardine Sloof's out of the blue top-20 weekend (in Oberhof too I think?), preceded and followed by nothing similar at all
  5. Filip Fjeld Andersen apparently thought the Östersund track is a natural skeleton track.
  6. Weidel finished less than one second behind direct qualification for the Olympics yesterday, today she finishes one and a half second (and again one position) behind it She should make it if she somewhat keeps this up, but damn it'd be a sour taste if she ends up missing out. *qualification should probably say 'nomination', since it's of course not 100% automatic if there's more athletes with these nominations than Germany has tickets
  7. The men will go ahead as planned, as confirmed by FIS. The decision about the start of the women's race will be taken 12.45 CET/13.45 LOC.
  8. Weidel needs to improve her speed, she misses out on the needed top-15 now because of it
  9. No worries, I only realized it yesterday when they showed her shooting and her face looked really familiar, way too familiar for an actual unkown athlete
  10. Clean shooting for Baiba for the first time since the Ruhpolding sprint in 19/20 And excellent start for Weidel as well, again
  11. My point calculcations were wrong, I calculated the race penalty but forgot to add those These are correct: Jaque 239.18 Bruna 331.65 Mika 394.37 Duda 481.84 Steve 265.05 Manex 319.57 15km/10km today, just saw Maurice Manificat win the men's race. He finished in a little over 40 minutes, which is roughly five minutes slower than at the terrible track at the world championships last season...comes to show how godawful the conditions are, combined with an absolutely terrible job by the organizers in terms of preparing the courses Anyhow, only a training race for Bruna today, so there's no pressure or need to perform or anything. Perfect opportunity to work on technique and such.
  12. One might wonder if today's races will even be held, considering it went from -17 yesterday to a slightly fresh -20 today, which is right on the limit of being allowed to race.
  13. No way they're going to race downhill, downhill, super-G, giant slalom on consecutive days A regular two-race weekend stands a better chance, if it'd be covered at all.
  14. To be fair, it is worth writing about when countries start closing entire borders again because of one or two confirmed cases in another country
  15. Are your countries in total panic mode because of the 'omicron variant' as well?
  16. Yeah, but I mean, better than having nine field players and no goalkeeper, I think the average goalkeeper playing as a field player does less damage than the average field player playing as a goalkeeper But yeah, not ideal anyway and whether it ends up being 0-14 or 0-10....I doubt it makes much difference for anyone
  17. By the way, a Belgian article says Belenenses specifically didn't want to ask for postponement? Not only that it wasn't going to be postponed, but that they made the choice not to ask for it..
  18. And it's 0-7 at halftime, not entirely surprising. At least there is a goalkeeper available...
  19. Not sure if you mean the SP, but those are not Marxists. I meant actual Marxists, not "They oppose my view and thus are Marxists".
  20. Which historically prosperous, peaceful and law-abiding countries have had recent (say, past five years) and actual Marxist candidates? So just making clear that the stereotypical redneck "Democrats are commies!!" nonsense doesn't count
  21. Just remind me to cross 'Being a teacher in North Korea' off of my list of things to do. Always that one annoying student that messes you up and gets you shipped off to a remote mine.
  22. ------ 1: - "What's the red flag for?" - "To warn people that the sea is dangerous today!" 2: - "You're just creating fear to take away my freedom!" - "Huh? No, I'm trying to protect you!" - "Only 0,0000000000042% of swimmers die! Red flags don't work!!" 3: - "You know nothing! Sheeple! Do your own research! Dictators! I'm going into the sea anyway!" - "Stop! At least bring a lifebuoy!" - "I don't believe in lifebuoys!" 4: - "Here we go again...."
