  1. Nice to close off the (calendar) year of biathlon with such a party
  2. Kim Huybrechts tried to get to England by car today, but wasn't allowed to enter into France (from Belgium). Now he's going to try by plane. No reason mentioned as to why.
  3. But yeah, DNF. It's going to be rather tight and she'll probably have to be very wise in picking the right races..
  4. I hope Hauser brought some coins for the parking meter.
  5. Oh damn, Lie threw away her chance for a podium
  6. No, her mom is Belgian. She might have decided to switch because of the depth in Norway, which would be an understandable choice, but she definitely has 50% Belgian roots and has had both nationalities her entire life
  7. Lie in 4th She is shooting sensationally this season, unbelievable.
  8. It's actually not though. Or are we from now on always going to ignore every athlete who competes for the country of one of their parents instead of their birth country (whatever the reason may be)? Because we're going to have quite a list then, I feel... She's having a fantastic season so far, so I'd say it's been a good choice.
  9. Ouch, Vittozzi didn't hit a single shot in the first shooting
  10. Interesting to see Estonia having two women's teams in the team sprint, but the Kaasiku twins (who usually have scarily similar results as well) are still split up instead of forming one team.
  11. It would slightly increase the theoretical chance for a third Brazilian woman, making large parts of the whole battle and stress of the past months a moot point
  12. Not sure if it's coincidence, but while she was a DNF in the IBU Cup Thursday (and not on the start list yesterday), all of a sudden she is in the freestyle mass start in St Ulrich today, her first XC race since those worlds in February! Yesterday she wasn't in the classic individual start, so it's kind of like she all of a sudden went there.. Not sure it went right though, since she was ahead of a Mexican who has now finished, whereas Ponya has disappeared from the timing after the last intermediate (where she was already pretty far behind, under 300 wasn't gonna happen).
  13. Completely forgot about that, but awesome! And even a team time trial to make it better, the start is basically a few minutes walking away from the main train station so super easy to reach, absolutely going there if restrictions have died down by then
  14. Not really, professional sports events are still allowed (without spectators, but that's no different than it already was).
  15. That's a positive surprise! Last thing I heard out of Brazil (2-3 months ago or so) was basically that numbers are lower but that's because nobody gets tested anymore (and no tests means 'no cases') and most people never really cared about any rules anyway This sounds better now.
  16. Comes to show Van Barneveld is right: "It's nice, but in the end it's still just one leg."
  17. I think the athlete can be trusted more than the federation. As in, an athlete who realizes this will probably work harder to fix it than a federation that might "forget" telling the athlete.
  18. Last season after the world championships, she posted a photo with this text (with a Google Translate English version I put under there)....makes you think she really doesn't know, or they know something we don't.
  19. And Darius Labanauskas just hit the tournament's 2nd nine darter
  20. Lesser fighting his absolute balls off for that 8th place and Olympic qualifying, but he ends up short. Still, 10th is a half nomination, so that's excellent. Few things are a better show of athleticism than Lesser on one of his true fighting days
  21. And Jacquelin misses his last three in a matter of....one and a half second?
