  1. Oh damn, I had not realized that neither Well, that saved me from some more tension in those final minutes after the 2-1.
  2. Can't say Mexico deserved to go through when judging by the whole three matches, but man, did they deserve more than this today...
  3. Yellow for Poland, which is a big deal now. Two yellows is the margin now.
  4. It would be a miracle if either Argentina or Mexico doesn't make 3-0 quickly, they are absolutely dominating now...
  5. Justice! That was such a bullshit penalty.
  6. Yep, October 2022 was his last month as a professional cyclist. A career which started with the junior world championships against the likes of Bo Hamburger, Beat Zberg, Michele Bartoli, José Maria Jimenez (RIP), US Postal-train driver Pavel Padrnos and Erik Dekker in....1988! Man, he got a 9th place in Lombardia, between Sean Kelly, Stephen Roche and such.
  7. Was it streamed today? It's still not appearing on Eurovision (unlike yesterday's sprints, they're there) and I'm starting to feel positively screwed because I want to watch the pursuits
  8. I was talking about sports though, to be fair.
  9. Mexico did play Haiti, but one can imagine the CONCACAF Gold Cup match in which they played did not play a major role in them qualifying for the World Cup. KSA played against Vietnam.
  10. That would be awful. Penalties for anything but straight knock-out games should stay far away from football..(or any sort of sport)
  11. Damn, France is butchering as if they are the ones at risk of being kicked out of the tournament.
  12. Dutch commentator forgets that he started AUS - DEN with "It's actually very simply, Denmark needs to win and Australia is through with a draw." Tunisia's brief lead was a good moment to apologize for that.
  13. That part is less important. Let's say a theoretical (and of course impossible) situation in which Brazil plays the World Cup final, and a total of 10 million Brazilians are watching TV during the match. All 10 million are watching the match, so that'd be 100% score. That would suggest it was absolutely huge, whereas 10 million Brazilians watching is of course...well, almost nothing Compared to the total population of the country is the main thing, yes.
  14. Yes, it will be a bit of a hype early on, and then it'll fade away. I really do believe Al-Nasr is not going to be a top-watched team for the full 2-2,5 years.
  15. Wasn't that kind of always the plan? Every time she was mentioned or shown, the Dutch commentator said "for now" when saying she competes for Albania and basically said it would only be until Italy would let her compete in the big races
  16. Yep, 51 years old and only a month or two after the end of his 30 year pro career.... Awful news
  17. Fantastic race by Lotte Lie, 20/20 and well inside the top-20
  18. Not bad at all
  19. Judging by the ignoring of Hartweg yesterday, I'm starting to feel like googling whether or not there's some Finnish-Swiss war going on
  20. Wow, Voigt
  21. Here we go, let's go Baiba And just in general let's go for a nice competition and good and tense season!
  22. Meanwhile rumours are saying C. Ronaldo will sign a deal for 200 million euro a year at Al-Nasr, so for those who are not annoying by him: enjoy his antics at this World Cup, because after this it'll just be two years of anonymity - with the occassional vague video of a randomly nice goal every few months - until he retires and people are like "Huh, he was still playing?"
  23. Oh well, you'll always get a bit odd reactions when DQ's in any sport are controversial
  24. Hard Times, or just regular stuff in a country like Qatar... Although this all was of course expected entirely.
  25. Most specifically because it's in the VAR era and this was just way too obvious a matter of falling as soon as someone touched him, no way this would or should have been a penalty. And yeah, like you already said: instead of going for that, why not go for the actual chance for a goal
