i just knew that we registered 7 athletes i think Ihab and Sara are included in Mediterranean Cup in San Marino which will take part from 3-6 October , hopefully Moradi will also participate in 1 tournament , he should be a clear favorite for Gold in tokyo , hopefully people in Iranian start in going with his VISA application from now

They didn't pay the fine that has been loaded when athletes were caught which I think about 250k dollars

Rumors are correct we're banned and we won't participate Fuck this federation I really can't find words to describe how dumb ass are they

I love the first 5 minutes of Athens 2004. I’ve had that song/beat stuck in my head all week. Also the rings on fire in water had become such an iconic image.

Didn't Egypt have rules about not allowing the use of ghosts in football matches or something? @thepharoah

So this Friday I should graduate from college, and somewhere in between I'll have to say goodbye to several of my closest friends who will be moving abroad permanently, starting from this weekend.
It's kind of overwhelming...

thepharoah reacted to MHSN in Judo 2019 Discussion Thread
that's the point. it only gifted some easy medals to Israel.
but there is simply no solution for that. it's not like they can let it happen in 1 sport , simply impossible
the best they can get from Iran is forcing Iran to not making it to public and don't use it for propaganda. and they already have that. in past 10 years Iran never brags about this. they always made other excuse for avoiding Israel. while for example 20 years ago they were proudly announcing they are withdrawing because of Israel.
Iran with this person on top is not going to give anything more about this matter. I lost hope on that long time ago. and the idea of Iranian athletes participating under IOC flag is even more impossible. Iran won't let that happen and beside that I assume 80% of athletes don't want to participate under anything but the Iranian flag.
Mollaei was unique and I believe he will regret it later in his life. specially if he continues to give interviews like this . he still did nothing wrong per law but he is crossing the line and if he does that he can never come back to Iran again. he probably thinks he doesn't need that because he has a "life" in Germany but I know people who did such things and 10 years later they regret it big time.

Really sad news for the sport lovers, if u want to ban federation why do u ban innocent athletes, why just taking guarantees from Iranian federation that they'll compete against everybody from now on, why Iranian regime doesn't make exception for Judo as long as its only ioc problem, there must be other solutions and overall there's nothing hurts Israel in Iranian players avoiding them, they just win extra gifts and opportunities to win medals

thepharoah reacted to MHSN in Judo 2019 Discussion Thread
Great news. Excellent and I see everybody is happy now. time for Iran to completely shut down Judo in the country. this is a lost cause anyway. and I'm sure Mr Mollaei will be happy about this and his former teammates will appreciate his "bravery". I was thinking what if Miresamaeili would have did the same 15 years ago in Athens. what Mollaei was doing in 2019 if there was no Judo at all ? cleaning restaurants maybe. that's exactly what he brings for the possible next judo generations.
and btw this is not the first time. probably first time for an Olympic sport but it happened before in the Paralympics. Iran was banned something like 10-15 years in Goalball and 5 years in wheelchair basketball (from 2008 to 2013) for the same reason.
and if people think this is a good idea , then Iran should be banned from the whole thing because it's not something decided by the poor Judo Federation. that would be good actually. because then I have no reason to spend my time here in this forum.
thinking about it. I can start spending less time (or no time at all) in the forum from now.

What an absolute joke of a penalty awarded to Napoli. VAR is getting more and more useless as the time goes by.

they also didn't mark the Friendship tournament in Japan but then those results are counted here
https://www.iwf.net/qualif/menu/
that makes me believe more mistakes are possible and Africa Games being counted simply makes sense. that's a major competition.

thepharoah reacted to Shravan Kumar in Weightlifting IWF World Championships 2019
I don't find African games being counted.
In calendar section of the IWF website it shows the category of competition (Gold, Silver,Bronze)there is nothing in front of African games

That looks all over for Egypt in Weightlifting
-
thepharoah reacted to MHSN in Weightlifting IWF World Championships 2019
that's really sad
but if African Games is counted (which makes sense) at least you have more time to find a solution. something like 6-7 months.
-
thepharoah got a reaction from MHSN in Weightlifting IWF World Championships 2019
he told me African games is counted , not really sure but overall i think this's not the main problem now , we're waiting what will happen after 3 weeks will IWF raise the ban or will it confirm it for the Olympics , not really optimistic about their decision btw , btw but it'd very much weird if Egypt is banned while Russia , Kazakhstan and North Korea will take part let's see

oh I forgot you are eligible for the Mediterranean Cup.
they know that's impossible. USA allows it only for the World Championship (because they have to) and after torturing our athletes for something like 4-5 months. (they have to go several times to the USA embassy in Turkey) that's how it is. better not wasting time and money.
they already announced Moradi is going to Switzerland.
PS: I had to contact several people in Iran WL federation to make sure they know the rules. fortunately they knew.

At present, only one Egyptian male lifter has participated in a period 2 event: Ali Ahmed Sayed Ashour in IWF Junior World Championships.
In the female side, also only has participated in a period 2 event: Mahmoud Rania Mohamed Ezzat in IWF Junior World Championships.

thepharoah reacted to MHSN in Weightlifting IWF World Championships 2019
@thepharoah it seems the IWF calendar isn't completely accurate !
for example they didn't list the Friendship tournament in Tokyo (Olympic test event) as an Olympic qualification event but then I see they count those results here
https://www.iwf.net/qualif/menu/
there might be other eligible events as well. but when I checked the situation for Mohamed Ihab, he had 3 events in the first period. but still nothing in the 2nd period (may-October 2019). he has to participate in one of those 2 events in USA or SUI, even a poor result will be enough for him.
-
thepharoah reacted to MHSN in Weightlifting IWF World Championships 2019
that will be enough to keep them alive.
we have the same problem with our Olympic champion Sohrab Moradi, because of a surgery he missed this WCh, and if you see most of those October events are continental events. only 2 events in USA and Switzerland are possible. you have to participate in at least one of them. (and since USA won't let the Iranians to participate, Switzerland is the only chance for Moradi, even with one hand, he has to participate)
-
thepharoah reacted to MHSN in Weightlifting IWF World Championships 2019
oh that's terrible.
and beside that. your athletes "need" to participate in an IWF-sanctioned event in this 6-month period. if they don't , they can't participate at the Olympics no matter what. suspension or not.
