  1. I'm happy to see ,ore games on TV, but this thing of the web rights to a (foreign) betting company sucks...sucks big time! and with this rule for the under-18, this is like beating your own "jewels" with a baseball bat... they are basically cutting out the future of the game, the new generations (who normally follow very few sport events, but if they want, they do it almost only via web, for sure not buying pay-tv subscriptions -at least here in Italy the trend is this)... sometimes it's really complicated to understand the greediness of the sports leagues' officials...they just can't look beyond the immediate thirst for money instead of taking decisions good for the development and the future of the discipline they're administrating...and as an overall sports fan, that's really frustrating...

  3. Tournament Schedule https://olympicbaseball.wbsc.org/en/2019/e-2019-europe-africa-baseball-olympic-qualifier/schedule-and-results Competition Format Single Round Robin Tie-Breaking Criteria The standing of the teams after the round robin shall be according to their win-loss records of all the games played. All ties shall be settled in the order of the following list. That is, if criterion (1) does not break the tie, then it is no longer considered the criteria capable of breaking the tie, and the next criterion (2) will be used. This logic continues through the list, in order, until the tie is broken: 1. The team that won the game(s) between the teams tied shall be given the higher position. 2. Team's Quality Balance (TQB) and win-loss records in games between the teams tied. 3. The team that has the best Earned Runs Team's Quality Balance (ER-TQB). 4. Highest batting average in games between the teams tied. 5. A coin flip

  6. yeah, I called it doubtful only because I couldn't hear the whistle, but the body language of both wrestlers suggested that it was blown well before the gut wrench happened... of course the judges didn't think that and gave up the winning points to the Kazakh guy... by the way, going further...Fumita looked definitely better in the semifinal match than in the previous rounds...maybe he's just the kind of "speculative" wrestler opposed to the spectacular and "entertaining" Ota... p.s. as I predicted, Bjurberg Kessidis made the final... good for Geraei (who are not going to have an easy repechage pathway in any case, as he would probably end up wrestling Cataraga, who's always a dangerous opponent... p.p.s. and Heiki Nabi got lucky once again...Pino Hinds made the final and saved the Estonian's chances, sending him to the repechage round (where probably he'll be the opponent of Ghasemi-Monjezi in the bronze medal match)...
  7. this week was about the juniors...the senior events will be held between next Friday and Saturday (all finals on Saturday)...
  8. I don't know...the Armenian guy isn't that impressive, too...he won against the Belarussian more because of his opponent's mistakes rather than by his own quality... to me, he has some chances...
  9. quarterfinals in the men's GR -77kg Lorincz b. Galkinas Dilmukhamedov b. Nemes Chalyan b. Liakh Bjurberg Kessidis b. Geraei which means that Hungary, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Sweden mathematically got Olympic Quota places in this weight class...
  10. meanwhile Nemes lost to the Kazakh guy despite going 3-0 ahead...and obviously there were some doubtful calls...
  11. men's GR -60kg quarterfinals: Nejati b. Angelov Fumita b. Ciobanu Ainagulov b. Lizatovic Emelin b. Temirov which means that Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan and Russia mathematically got Olympic Quota places in this weight class...
  12. finally, Fumita wins it without being that brilliant...
  13. at the pause, Fumita has turned the score around...now he's leading 6-5, but still...the question about how good is he compared to Ota remains...
  14. meanwhile Fumita is losing against Ciobanu (but we still have almost 4 mins to wrestle)... in any case, I saw also Fumita's bout against Tasmuradov (UZB) earlier this morning and despite a 9-1 superiority win, he wasn't impressive at all...I'm starting to ask myself how the hell this guy could beat Ota?
  15. other semi and quota for Iran, thanks to Nejati...
  16. meanwhile in the -60kg Ainagulov (KAZ) and Emelin (RUS) are already through to the semis after flashy superiority wins... nice and close match instead between Nejati (IRI) and Angelov (BUL)
  17. men's GR -130kg quarters: Kayaalp b. Kajaia Popp b. Abdellatif Mohamed Pino Hinds b. Ramonov Ghasemi-Monjezi b. Abdullaev which means that Turkey, Germany, Cuba and Iran mathematically got Olympic Quota places in this weight class...
  18. updated after today's repechage rounds... so, the final Quota distribution in those classes is: -67kg: / / / / / -87kg: / / / / / -97kg: / / / / /
  19. and quota also for Germany (Frank Staebler in the -67kg) and Turkey (Cenk Ildem in the -97kg, who beat the Iranian Saravi in the last repechage...I know someone wgho's gonna be quite frustrated by this result sorry, @MHSN)...
  20. quarterfinals in the men's GR -77kg Lorincz vs Galkinas Dilmukhamedov vs Nemes Chalyan vs Liakh Geraei vs Bjurberg Kessidis
  21. and that's an upset! Dilmukhamedov just won* 3-0 against Vlasov in the -77kg! *with the nice participation of the ref, of course...who gave a doubtful caution to Vlasov for the 0-3 and then allowed the Kazakh to waste all the time he needed to takew the win home...
  22. meanwhile the quarters in the men's GR -60kg are: Angelov vs Nejati Ciobanu vs Fumita Ainagulov vs Lizatovic Emelin vs Temirov
  23. by the way, Heiki "lucky" Nabi this time has not been so lucky...he's been thrown out in the round of 16 by Oscar Pino Hinds... in the men's GR -130kg we are almost ready for the quarterfinals, where all winners will get a straight pass to the Olympics for their respective NOC... the quarters are: Kajaia vs Kayalp Popp vs Abdellatif Mohamed Ramonov vs Pino Hinds Ghasemi-Monjezi vs Abdullaev
  24. wow! I just learned that Sofia Mulanovich is a great veteran of the sport...she was pro world champion (when that league was named ASP) already in 2004... and she's already inducted into the Hall of Fame of Surfing and she also has her footprint stuck into the Walk of Fame of Surfing... moreover, her last win on the pro circuit dates back to 2009...since then, she's been no longer part of the regulars of the pro circuit... so, her win in this world champ is something amazing...surely more than the ordinary gold medal from a WSL regular we had in the men's event... p.s. Brazil also won the Team Title, ahead of the USA and Japan...
  25. OK, the cornhole has got me KO...what's next?
