  1. Do we know the host town yet? Amsterdam? Rotterdam? Ermelo? Aruba? Or maybe that trip to Maastricht was supposed to be a hint.
  2. Meanwhile in California, cross-country at Paso Robles starts just about now! https://www.rideonvideo.net/twin-rivers-live-interactive_5a04c4607.html
  3. Good news. USEA caved under reason and decided to let the Plantation Field International go forward as planned. Eventing Nation will not cover the event in protest ("that'll teach 'em!"). Their quality really went downhill once Jenni Autry left.
  4. Speaking of Israel... @IsraelBobsled is here. Welcome A.J.!
  5. Neither are those 150 year old Indonesians...
  6. Nobody seems to talk about the current hurricane season. It appears as though a storm will be named with the letter W- for the first time in history! They have even added an auxillary list for beyond that.
  7. Czech Republic keeps setting some worrisome records.
  8. Yeah, liberals have a strong hold over the education system, so no wonder there is a hissy fit as soon as Trump starts meddling in.
  9. Wout van Aert did it again. Is he the GOAT already? Sprinting, climbing, it's all the same for him.
  10. I guess this stage was streamlined to eliminate Bennett?
  11. Oh no... I just can't... I just can't believe this. Just days before it was supposed to start, Plantation Field Horse Trials suddenly got cancelled. With all the COVID-related cancellations, it was supposed to be pretty much the season highlight in North America... Any why did it get cancelled? Because there is a word "Plantation" in the name. Mind you, this event is not even held in the South. It's in Pennsylvania. Never again am I visiting Eventing Nation.
  12. Things are still kind of slow in the equestrian world, but essentially yes, Zanotelli is indeed a force to be reckoned with at any given competition... Aside from double gold in Lima, he appears to be competitive against the Europeans too. Notably he won a big class in St Tropez just a fortnight ago.
  13. Well, she contested 24h of Le Mans a couple of times. While I did not assume you know about every racer ever, I felt she may have been slightly more memorable than your average joe.
  14. I wonder if someone has a list of all those non-climbers who held the polka dot jersey at one time or another. I can remember Morkov as one of the more ridiculous ones.
  15. Starting just now. I honestly forgot everything about Amel Tuka taking another medal last year.
  16. Some interesting post-lockdown results on the American eventing circuit. Will Coleman, Liz Halliday-Sharp and Erin Sylvester are all showing excellent form. Sharon White too (also known as "everyone's favorite rider", no joke). Of course, the question is whether the American selectors will take a chance on them, or will they yet again choose the usual suspects (which have flopped at every global event for the past decade or so). I wonder if @heywoodu has perhaps ever heard of Liz Halliday...?
  17. I imagine it was Hungary or more likely Austria, since they had to deal with them both at one time or another.
  18. Not to forget Galicia and Galicja. Although this one seems quite random.
  19. Speaking of languages... I guess my most interesting language experience happened last year when we visited Slovenia. I expected there to be a bit of a language barrier, but in the end things turned out to be much more intelligible than expected... We understood each other quite well, however I got a feeling that Croatian is somewhat more intelligible to Slovenians than the other way around...
  20. Well, if Slovakians start calling themselves Slovačko instead of Slovensko, then everything is solved. I guess this is what happens when you forget to pattent your name. I wonder who called themselves Slovensko first.
  21. Will never be a valid reason for me. I imagine their tennis federation (if not the whole summer sports program) would benefit more from his Olympic medal rather than some GS title.
  22. Sprinter Grosu takes Tour of Romania in another bizarre turn of events. Did he train with Wout van Aert by any chance?
