  1. wow looking at the medal chart just as of now and it looks unbeleievable ( junior medals but still ) Gold Silver Bronze Total 3 3 3 9 1IND 2 1 3 2CHN 1 1 1 3 3KOR 2 2 4RUS 1 1
  2. Current medal chart at the world shooting championships Gold Silver Bronze Total 3 3 3 9 1IND 2 1 3 2CHN 1 1 1 3 3KOR 2 2 4RUS 1 1
  3. India Starts with 2 medals in Juniors ...... India Leads medal chart .......... What a super start to the world championships ......... Sure of great things
  4. we win like 2 medals in every one of them........ let us see how we do I predict that this side is the best I have ever seen and we will be getting at least 3 minimum and maximum 7
  5. looking forward to seeing the olympic table i think it will be extremely close between us iran and uzbeks for 4th spot
  6. India does well except in multi level events ... underwhelming at the commonwealth , underwhelming at the asians , underwhelming at the last olympics ...... I do not know what will it take them to actually play well ....................... this team break my heart always
  7. very popular sport in asia ....just two medals mens and womens team ........
  8. well Kurash and sambo features prominently so not a permanent class jump
  9. Overall outstanding performance by India .....we beat the best ever Asian games tally by 4 medals ( 65 to 69 ) ,( incidentally I had predicted close to 75 but the boxers let us down on total but still close ) equalled the best gold medal tally set in 1951, we had a outstanding commonwealth . But now its time to look at olympics , 2 years away and things will change but still time to reflect on possibilities Highlights and positives from this season Shooting - this was an awesome performance by an extremely young and talented team ........... They almost did better than super power China ( worlds super- eminent shooting nations ) in medal total .....The team is also extremely young in most part so in two years may knock of the rough edges and maybe do close to China in overall medals shooting ( China normally win 7-8 medals in shooting in Olympics ) ....I think with focus and attention this side can win dare I say it at least 3-5 medals at olympics with attention , some mental conditioning .... I seriously find it shocking when people say India did not do well in shooting in Asian Games Wrestling - Vinesh was really brilliant ...she demolished the field in what was possibly the toughest category in the asians games - Womens 48 . If the olympics she would be a shooin for medal at least ........ Bajrang was world class also but not in the same league according to me, Unfortunately none of the others were world class, sakshi was close to silver incidentally but no one was truely world class ........ so I would rate this 1-2 possibility for the olympics Boxing - Well Amit Phangal defeated world no 1 again in a brutal weight category so he has the credentials now , vikas is exasperating but maybe he will focus and could be a medal hope , he lost here more due to an injury ................... Incidentally we have a whole flush of young women world champions ( 2 gold , 3 silver ) so definately will hope for at least one of them to be world class by the 2020 ..... so medals possibly 0-2 Badminton - 2 singles medals both in woman - almost surely 1 medal at the olympics , if the mercurial srikanth shows consistency it could be 1-2 Weightlifting - Mirakhom with a world championship gold and a one 196 weight in the lowest weight category is a medal contendor so maybe 0-1 Atheletics - Neeraj currently world class , Hima can improve to a world class level , maybe an Indian atheletics medal 0-1 Recurve archery and hockey have promised much but have underwhelmed , India did wonderfully in tt but too early to say , aging tennis stars in doubles so nothing there

  11. looking forward to seeing the true olympic table at the end of the games go josh........but yes with both commonwealth and asian happening it has been a great year ......looking forward to seeing qualifiers
  12. hats off to ehsan hadadi .....India was very unfortunate to have one of our best atheletes of the last 20 years Vikas Gowda have someone like Hadadi in the same event , came silver last and before that a close bronze ...... But hadadi still is the best athelete that Iran has every had and at 33 I think he has one more gold in him
  13. we won 2 more golds in Olympic events.........Of course Ehsan won the Gold in Discus ............... I hoping we can defeat Iran and PRK on the Olympic sport table @ Iranian Group members
  14. Boxing was one of the worst displays till now in the asian games ....not sure what went wrong ....even vikas was lucky to win into the semis
  15. Open laser and 49 FXer medals in sailing look sure possibly a silver and bronze , 49 Fxer men which I thought would be a likely medal hope and was doing well till yesterday slips most probably out of medals
  16. india looked good in possession but again goal line issues and poor penalty corner conversion is a bit of an issue
  17. as expected Swapna Burman wins
  18. as expected ...purnima just lost the bronze
  19. India almost surely will win the heptathalon with swapna burma leading into the last 800 m and Qing having a weak 800....hoping for a second medal in heptathalon with prunima who is hanging on the 4th palce but has a better 800 PB than yuki
  20. India almost surely will win the heptathalon with swapna burma leading into the last 800 m and Qing having a weak 800....hoping for a second medal in heptathalon with prunima who is hanging on the 4th palce but has a better 800 PB than yuki
  21. I do not get why you are saying we are doing worse in shooting ( last time we got a lot of our medals in team events which were not there here had they been here we would have got huge medals ....compare our ranking ( In 2014 we were 8th, this time we are third and if you look at just the olympic events we were 2nd ), I would say we have done superb in Shooting ....... wrestling we got more golds than last time so I think the performance is better - if you win gold at the asian games you have a good chance for medals in the olympic games , whereas if you win a bronze at the asian level it may be tough at the olympic level ......... boxing I do agree we seem to have done worse
  22. nice analysis ..... would request you to do this at the end of the games ....it is a useful analysis .....In the total we seem to be at 5th
  23. Guys am I the only one who thinks this medal chart is not important ........ I would really like to see an olymic medal event chart for this games and a normal Asian program..... I find too many of the introduced events vague Sambo Kurash Jetski pencak silat parachuting Bridge jujitsu skateboarding sports climbing - the huge number of events also events like downhill cycling, poomsae, , changing most of the rowing events to lightweight in the program which in the way it is structured allows the program to be non representational Also I found dropping of many of the standard events * team in shooting ( actually to be fair I think it must be removed ) * all heavy weights in boxing * removing the individual events in compound was removed I also find that too many medals are given in sports which are martial based ...... I think that reduces the adequate representation of the sports in the program
  24. India Have reached the very improtant psychological mark of 50 medals .......................... now onwards to 66 which would be the best ever performance iau n asian games beating 65 which we won in 2010 gangzhau ....... I am not worried about the medal standing right now ............ as the number of weird sports is so many ....... and so many good sports have been dropped
  25. one more gold lost to the africans in 4*400 mixed
