wow ... great start to a our super saturday ....... Three golds in 60 minutes ....... Sanjeev Rajput in 50m three position > Mary Kom .... both expected but in rifle we can very easily slip ...... finally our rifle shooters come into their own in the 3 positions ......... then an unexpected gold by gaurav who really slammed irvine the european silver medallist

pretty exciting stuff on the medal table ...... India extend their lead to three golds over Canada .... and SA making a hard swing to try beat Canada.......... just one behind Canada .... to be honest I do not see Canada catching up now to India ...... India still awaiting results in TT, Badminton and Boxing and two events of shooting and 4 of wrestling, also some hopes in the athletics tomorrow ...... but sad to see both our hockey teams though out of gold medal contention ..........

yes the PNG lifter did an amazing lift ...... santavy was not there in the range .... he did have some bad luck in the snatch though where he missed one lift due to time out but Still he came out with an amazing lift in his final attempt ... even with three that might have been it .... and if gymnasts did not perform in the final that is their poor performance not luck ..... India did top most of the rifle qualifications - almost all but came up short in the finals ... that was not bad luck but lack of focus ....... Batty yes I give you that ...... India - Canada both won a gold today so the margin is still 2 ....................

good day for Canada and are beginning to catch up to India for the third place .... Hope India hold on but with Boxing, Badminton TT and Wrestling ....hope we can hold on to third place that would be the best we have done except when hosting

also great to see every single Indian boxer reach their Semis in the men ............... In the women though only mary reaches the finals ..... but both pinki and Lovina were unlucky to face the best boxers in their category ( both from England ) and lost so very narrowly .......

Good day for India at the games today ...... Shreyasi surprising win compensating for Jitus/ Mithraval surprising losses in the 50m pistol and double trap events .... but also good news in boxing with every single male boxer making it to the semis ....... did lose two womens medals except for the ageless mary kom who reached the finals ......

At this stage in the contest we are at 3rd place .... great result for India till now ......I am sure we will end at these games in 3rd place ....fingers crossed

why do you say that ? ....... I am enjoying these games and so are most of the sports fans in the commonwealth .... for our atheletes it is a great place to showcase their skills in a milieu other than olympics and the asian games

The mens pairs had also done well ......................... And do remember the competition in this event would be the best in the world by far as lawns is played mainly in the commonwelth games In India this sport is unknown so great achievement....

Great games for India ..... they are just dealing in gold .........

India and Canada seem to head to head at this stage in the contest on golds with India well behind on the overall medals .... Just curious about what you feel will be the gold tally for Canada at the end This is a slightly optimistic tally for india as of now as per my best estimates Gold Silver Bronze Atheletics 1 2 2 Badminton 2 3 3 Boxing 5 3 2 Hockey 0 1 1 Lawn bowls 0 0 1 shooting 8 3 10 squash 0 0 1 Table tennis 3 2 1 Weightlifting 5 1 4 powerlifting 0 1 1 wrestling 5 2 5 This will total 29 gold but removing the optimism still should be at close to 25-26 gold ..... total expecting only 70-75 medals though for India ..... But higher percent of gold seems sure ...... weightlifting , Badminton , shooting and wrestling we have the world class players....... Table tennis we are doing unexpectedly good in team but our best events are in the three doubles

and when I say chines it is because singapore have imported a few chinese to make their team world class ..... goof to see India Defeat them

What an unbelievable performance by Batra ..... This also incidentally opens up the womens singles ( monika has beaten the chinese and singaporeans ) ........ and also the womens doubles and the mixed doubles ( a non olympic event ) so may be interesting to see this .........
