I'm debating whether to stay up and watch the Biathlon and cross country skiing
Because Canada has a shot or because you are interested? Scott Gow does have his one 4th place World Cup finish.

Insane. I never expected a medal in ski jumping.
-
I was so impressed with the level of competition in Big Air. Great for Evan.
Hopefully we see some strong results for Teal, Edouard and Max in Slopestyle.
-
Maybe @orangemancan comment on Beijing geography but I'm finding it odd that Catriona Le May Doan is at the Big Air qualifications.

Crawford being 4th in the downhill is both amazing and incredibly frustrating.
In the end I have no complaints - hopefully this is the beginning of a confident streak from him.

CBC showing it now.
It just doesn't hit the same without Craig and Rob.

0 idea why CBC is not airing slopestyle live. There also appears to be different international commentary on my ipad and computer..... The CBC digital coverage has gone downhill compared to a few years ago.

Both Oldham and Asselin officially moving on to the final!
With Oldham in first!!!

Did Alex Beaulieu Marchand retire? He's doing the commentary and is quite good.

It's not luck. Canada should have won it pretty easily in the 8th, but missed that shot, too. It should have never come down to a millimeter.
Oh well, they would have never won a medal in the playoffs the way they were playing.
They gave the only undefeated team a good run for their money but those mistakes cost them. It's upsetting and disappointing.

HOMAN! What a final shot.

That's unironically a really good result tbh. Without Messing Canada had no shot at all at a medal, and just making the free skate is a huge win.
Absolutely - it feels like a huge victory to make the final.

Canada will probably finish 4th in the figure skating team event 😂.

If we want to count the mixed relay yesterday (technically 4th after all)
I think we were slotted in, in 6th.

One of the quieter days for Canada on the medal hunt. Our best chance will be in speed skating and even then it's far from guaranteed. Keep an eye out in men's downhill alpine skiing where we might surprise plus there is always hope in women's snowboard slopestyle and even women's moguls if you are really hoping.
If we can score two more victories in curling there's a chance we can qualify to the semis early. In figure skating, Canada must defeat Georgia's skater which is easier said than done.
The Downhill should be interesting. I’m hoping that the Canadians perform well there even if a medal isn’t really in the cards.
I’m hopeful for some strong curling results today

What a disaster....

Kingsbury with the silver is absolutely bizarre given the runs that others did. Perplexing.

Canada's first female speed skating medal since 2010? iirc
This feels big!

Anyone still up? Canada shoots clean on the first leg of the biathlon mixed relay and sitting 6th
That didn't last long 😂

Schedule is great for me today. Just woke up after partying until the early hours after the OC.
Now to get ready for enjoying an entire day of Olympics!
I’m happy to hear there were parties happening.

Brutal scheduling on day 1 with only women's snowboard slopestyle qualification at a reasonable hour on the East coast lol
Im on the west coast and I’m just committed to a weird sleep schedule this weekend.

Is it? Brunelle has the innermost lane and I think her only challenger is Santos.
I think Pierre-Gilles got a worst draw with Elistratov and Wu Dajing, although he is a 500m specialist.

Two Canadians in the top 10 is impressive. I think we'll also see him in the combined.
