Is Wog confirmed as the relay swimmer?
I just assumed as she was the best performing breastroker at the meet.
-
I was not expecting Acevedo to split under 48 seconds here. It was a good call to have Sanchez scratch the 50m free.
Super bullish on the relays chances seeing how well Wog did in the 200m.

Liendo 0.04 off the podium.
And a new national record.

And Liendo is on the heat sheet for tonight for the relay (with Acevedo, Sanchez and Oleksiak). Wow!
-
I know it’s a similar schedule to normal but I’m perplexed how the 50m free and 100 fly are so close together. Super impressive to see those times for Liendo for both.

With Haughey pulling out of the 100 and 200 free, Oleksiak is the only medalist from Tokyo in either of those races to compete in Budapest (bronze in the 200). And seeing as she finished 4th in the 100, looking pretty good there, too.
Plus she had the fastest split in the relay!

Camryn Rogers with another NR, 77.67, the 9th largest throw in history.

That score would have gotten Rylan Wiens 4th at the Olympics, similarly Margo Erlam's performance in the women's 3m would have won silver. Tanesha Lucoe's performance in the women's 10m would've placed her 7th. Of course, comparing scores between competitions (especially national competitions) isn't the best, but it does show our diving team is still strong. Now we just need someone in the men's 3m...
I really hope our diving team gets a tad more consistent that’s really cost them in the past.

Breaststroke is obviously the weak spot for Canada. The women would have won the gold in the medley relay with a better leg there (not blaming Pickrem!). Masse had the fastest back, MacNeil had the fastest fly and Penny had the 2nd fastest free. Now with the mixed medley, Canada needs to find someone competent in the breast given their depth at other strokes.
There was Faith Knelson a few years ago but she took the Olympic year off for surgery and I don’t think came back. I was hopeful she would be the missing link but maybe it ain’t so.

The 200m free final is going to be so intense. McIntosh, Oleksiak, Sanchez, Savard, Ruck and Smith. Such an incredibly deep field.
All 6 of them were under the A standard. Wow!

Liendo! What an impressive time in 100m fly. Super impressed by Knox getting under the A standard.

Thank you! I found it odd she was entered in the 100 anyways since it came out last year it was not good on her body.
It should also be said that her time on the first 50 was under the A standard for the 50.

Penny OLeksiak was leading through her heat at the 50 in the 100m butterfly but then just stopped and got out of the pool. I have seen nothing like this before. I wonder what happened.
According to Devin Heroux, Sydney Pickrem told him that was the plan for her to swim the first 50m. She honestly looked incredible in the first 50, I was so excited to see her return to the 100m fly.

Sorry I posted in the main board....this was surely an April fools joke.
It was a rather poorly done as an April Fool’s Joke because it wasn’t obvious.

Brent Hayden retires again. Truly what a comeback.

So Tracy Fleury joins Team Homan and Kaitlyn Lawes is skipping 2 former members of Team Fleury. This is going to be interesting!
Apparently I am much more invested in curling than ever before.

This is certainly interesting: https://oneelevenmg.com/jennifer-jones-joining-forces-with-team-zacharias-for-last-chapter-of-playing-career/
I can't begin to say I know much about curling but there's going to be some interesting movement happening....

That was a fun session for the Canadians - Wilkie and McKeever looked phenomenal and oddly not tired at the end.
-
I've been not paying attention to curling - which I think has been good for me 😂.
Was delighted to see Arendz come back from his 4th place with a gold in the middle distance biathlon.

Summer Mcintosh with a 4:29.12 in the 400 im at a test event in Toronto for the Canadian Trials!!!
Almost 3 seconds faster than the winning time in Tokyo. Insane, she is only 15.
Results here:http://swimontario.com/liveresults/
Ella Jansen, 16, 1:58.93 in the 200m freestyle
No other real stand out results, except Kylie Masse breaking her Canadian record in the 50m back.
Liendo going 51.84 is pretty good too! These young swimmers are so impressive!

On that note - do we know what happened to Faith Knelson? She took a year off for injury but it's been two years and I don't think she's back.
