  1. Did you bet 10 points on it? Sadly i used only one point on it. I was sure that Kosovo, Malaysia and Fiji would win a medal. I wasnt sure about Diaz, Bermudas in womens triathlon, Bosnia in athletics, Mali in taekwondo, Malta/San Marino in shooting. If i would get the chance, then i would change my prediction immediately and use 10 points instead of just 1.
  2. Very sad for Massialas, he can still win a gold with the team. Italy is going mad, they will finish in top 10 of the medal table at this rate.
  3. Wow, Italy won tons of surprising medals already, i wish we could win at least one of them. Its very interesting that Italy is suddenly so good in judo, i never thought that they could win even single medal.
  4. Like i said before, italy is having amazing first two days, maybe the best of their olympic history, italian people must be crying of joy.
  5. Yeah ... Of course you couldve send me a PM with your favorites later, but its ok, the prediction contest was obviously extremely important for you, good luck!
  6. So ... 1) Why did you say that you have no clue who the favorites will be when i asked you a couple of days ago? 2) Abbott didnt win a medal, so obviously she wasnt so strong after all ... 3) I think it was you who said that Ferrand-Prevot could win a medal in road cycling and mountainbike at the olympics (correct me if i wrong), although everyone (including me) said that it wont happen, what does that tell about your expertise?
  7. No, Abbott wasnt one of the favorites. Its funny that you now want to teach me about womens cycling, although you just said a couple of day ago that you dont follow womens cycling and dont know who the favorites are ...
  8. What about Japan, Canada and the Netherlands, they also might be ahead of Germany. Our team lost 3rd place on balance beam, Schäfer and Alt both lost at least 0.5 points. In my opinion Alt was clearly underscored, i think she had a better execution than Schäfer + they deducted 0.3 of her D score.
  9. More importantly: I hope that your rider is ok, the crash looked horrible. I am just sick of seeing another american no-name winning gold coming out of nowhere. Many americans only show up every four years, you have to wonder why. For many american athletes olympics are a huge chance to become rich, i think thats the reason why many american athletes are willing to do everything to win a gold.
  10. Gold for Australia? Very sad to see Rossi without a medal. And again everyone can see that shooting is basically unpredictable, anyone can win a medal.
  11. I guess we will never win a medal ... I hope that a dutch girl wins gold.
  12. Wow ... France might really win a medal. Do you think that Jung still has a chance for gold?
  13. Yeah, this is almost a perfect competition, they cant do much better. Balance beam still to come, if 2 or 3 of our athletes fall down, then we wont make the final. This would be the first final for Germany since 1988!
  14. Alt now has a higher D score than Schäfer and just scored 14.8 on vault. Balance beam is always very tricky, we might get two athletes into the final or none, i hope for one and at least one on uneven bars. Berger has been injured multiple times since London 2012. I read that she has torn her cruciate ligament, her meniscus and multiple other things in her knee. I agree that she got robbed in 2012 but i am not sure whether she wouldve made the team. Scheder, Seitz, Alt and Schäfer are safe, but one out of Berger/Chusovitina might have repaced Bui in the team. I think in the end she couldnt have helped us very much, i think with her our overall score wouldve been 0.4-0.5 points better at best.
  15. Very sad to hear, i really wonder what happened after 2013 ... But lets be honest: He won everything one can dream of, he is double olympic champion and world champion.
  16. Wow i just learnt that Saraiva is only 1.33m tall ... that cant be true ...
  17. I am very happy for you, her and the brazilian team! Schäfer was very good on floor and vault, Alt was very good on vault too. I think we might really make the final, but most importantly i pray that Seitz + Scheder make the final on uneven bars and that at least one out of Alt/Schäfer will make the beam final. German commentator just said that Alt (born in 2000) already has the highest D scores of the whole team and even a better D score than Schäfer on beam, so she might really have a small chance to make the beam final.
  18. In the relay Australia, Netherlands, USA and Canada were clearly ahead of your relay, i think a medal for Italy would have been as big of a surprise as Greece winning 2004 football european championships. In shooting your athletes also were clear underdogs, i think Rossi today has a good shot for gold and your athletes were also very good in mens trap, you can be very proud so far in my opinion.
  19. Ok ... You never had a realistic chance for a medal in shooting or the relay. Nibali got extremely unlucky, bot before the start of the races he wasnt the favorite for gold. I think if someone wouldve said that Italy will win one medals out of mens road race and mens 400 m free then most italian fans wouldve been pretty happy with that. Of course you are right about your mens archery team, it was really disappointing that they didnt win a medal. Fiamingo wasnt the big favorite for gold, but of course she shouldve beaten the girl from Hungary, i think silver is a good result for her. Today you could win 1 or 2 very surprising medals in judo. I think so far out of the best nations Australia, Hungary and USA have overperformed the most. Australia won a surprising gold in mens 400 m free and a very surprising bronze in mens team archery. Hungary won a surprising gold in womens epee and USA won a very surprising gold in womens 10 m air rifle and a surprising silver medal in womens 4x100 m free relay.
  20. Really sad for Melnikova. I dont know whether Mustafina at the moment just cant do better than 58.0 or if she just had a bad day. There are quite a lot of girls who can score 58.0 and fight for bronze, 1 or 2 british girls, Steingruber, 1 or 2 chinese girls and maybe even Saraiva or one of the japanese girls. Her score on uneven bars was amazing, i doubt that anyone will be able to beat that. Paseka also should be safe to make the vault final, but if the girl from north korea keeps her level, then Paseka wont have a chance for gold. The russian girls might leave Rio with only 2 or 3 medals. I think Alt might also challenge for the final on balance beam if she can keep her nerves, recently she has been on pretty much the same level as Schäfer and she has the same difficulty, although Schäfer scored 15.1 once. So far scores on balance beam have been pretty bad, this might be a big chance for the 2 german girls.
  21. Wow the russian girls made up for their weak performances by some amazing scores on uneven bars. Its gonna be really difficult to beat them on uneven bars.
  22. The first two days are really going perfect for Italy, they won 2 medals already and especially the medal in mens 400m free was very surprising.
  23. I agree, it looks as if the fight for gold might be pretty open between USA, GB, China and Japan. China looked very strong, they might be the favorite for gold right now. In mens parallel bars the level of competition was very good in my opinion, Nguyen and Uchimura both missed the final, which is sad because both of them could have won a medal. Level of competition in mens high bar was pretty bad overall and the final seems pretty open.
  24. Indeed, very disappointed by Melnikova and Mustafina. Do you have their scores on uneven bars. In this shape they wont win a medal in the team, so GB or Japan might get lucky. Russian athletes will hardly make any individual finals.
